The other thing to note is the stand. It's pretty high quality, except the screen doesn't sit 100% level horizontally, and the way the tilt function locks into place, doesn't look like there's an easy fix. We're talking a few millimeters off though.
You're awesome, that did the trick. Thank you!I fixed my screen when it was tilting by adjusting the metal bracket on the stand. If you remove the monitor from the stand, you'll see 4 screws in the center holding the bracket to the stand. Loosen each screw and rotate the bracket in the directon you are trying to adjust. Hopefully there is a little play in the bracket in the direction you need. Tighten the screws and enjoy!
Here ya go. I calibrated it with Sypder3 Pro

I'm going to dispel some misconceptions there. This most certainly is a capable gaming monitor. I did some input lag tests next to a 2ms TN panel. The difference is virtually nonexistent, and far beyond what's perceivable.Honestly I don't know what this monitor would be good for. It's not a gaming monitor and it's got to many defects for graphic use. I mean you can't have an uneven tinted panel and be able to do any kind of color accurate work with it.
Either spend more money and get a better IPS panel or stick with TN because this u2311h sucks.

I also ran at a lower resolution to test at 75Hz, but the results were less conclusive. At some points the IPS panel gets ahead of the TN panel, and I think this is more an exercise of the latency of the scaling circuitry inside. I'll post the pics anyway though.

both this monitor and the xl2370 are same exact price.. between these two what do you guys suggest?
also anyone know when coupon ends?
When I ordered mine, my coupon was valid until 5/31.
damn, need to know which one to get i read everything there is to exist on both and cant decide need someone else to tell me!
What are your needs? FWIW, I don't think I can justify getting the XL2370 unless you know a deal that I don't because the U2311H is so cheap with the coupon. And it's IPS.
Dell also has xl2370 on the website, you can use the coupon for either one, both EXACT same price so that is why im going insane.
my games and such.. normal stuff.
So are all U2311H monitors LED-backlit or just the European models? Spec-for-spec it looks the same as the US model I bought which makes me think they're all the same, but I'd like to know for sure. It´s apparently a White LED screen: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=421265
Now all it needs to be perfect is 120Hz
It is easy to determine if your screen is LED or not, if it has CCFL backlight you can see that when you turn on the monitor, it'll take a while for it to brighten up, and if it has LED you'll have the same colors and brightness instantly, when you turn on the monitor, just like after few minutes. So are all U2311H monitors LED-backlit or just the European models? I thought that was the case, but it seems like the monitor does take a little time to achieve maximum brightness. However, compared to another monitor which I know to be CCFL, the difference between the turn-on brightness and the stable brightness level is much less with the Dell, as is the time it takes to get there. power consumption spec is quoted as 33w on the EU sites, so it looks like they are all the same. I think Dell may deserve some credit for not making a big fuss over the edge LED lighting, by now most people know it's only good for power saving and making displays slimline but there are still a few manufacturers trying to pretend it improves image quality. So are all U2311H monitors LED-backlit or just the European models? Any reviews yet?
flatpanelshd.com said:Dell has also confirmed that the monitors use a WLED backlight.
No, the U2311 is CCFL.
P2311H which launches on June 3rd will be TN WLED. The european site looks to have confused the description of these two new monitors, i'v sent them a note so it should be fixed by Monday.
I guess that explains the warm-up time I get with the monitor, as opposed to it being instant-on.Maybe it's not WLED afterall. This came from a thread I found here:

They already deleted it from the european website, so it ISN't wled, this isn't necessarily a big disadvantage though... I'm still thinking to replace my XL2370, black crush annoys me very much, both in movies and gamesI guess that explains the warm-up time I get with the monitor, as opposed to it being instant-on.
