DC Vault

I just pulled my i7 off of W@H, but if you guys are jumping in I'll switch back. We were barely staying ahead of the Cows before, so it's going to be a tough climb.

I am going to stay on spinhenge while I am gone for this weekend, most likely when I get back it will have gone over 9k.

For W@H I may be able to put 2 cores on it when I get back.

Yikes! 11 cores. That should help. :D I am in the process of finishing up the BOINC queues on 4 cores. Then I'll swap them over to W@home. Keep up the good work fellas!

I've got 8 cores on W@H now, including 50% of my i7. The other 50% is on Spinhenge.

Well, to stay ahead of EricE for the weekend, I left my work machine on, so we'll see if I'm still ahead in Spinhenge come Monday evening! :D

Off for a long weekend up the CA coast above SF - crunch on, and see you all in 4 days...

We reached 9K in Spinhenge this morning. I'm going to keep crunching for a bit since I want to reach 50K, and I only have about 2K to go.

The test server box in my sig died on Friday (corrupt boot sector or something), and I finally got it up and running last night after reformatting and installing Win7 RTM. It's continuing to run SoB for a few days, and I also started Aqua again. I was not having much luck getting F@H to run on all GPUs without EUEs, so I'll see if Aqua is better.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. :)

Any consensus on which BOINC project is next? I'm switching from Spinhenge to Poem because I want to get my personal points above 100K. Looks like the other candidates are Yoyo, Cosmology, and Genlife.

POEM sounds like a good idea. I was going to do genlife, cosmology, poem, and yoyo last.

But if your doing POEM so am I. :) It will go much quicker then if we worked seperately.

I am changing over my comps now but the queue is still full of spinhenge so it might be a little bit.

Oh and sorry Jathanis, but I think I won. :p. Its all good fun, you put up a good fight.

Looks like we are catching up in W@home. Keep the pressure on!

Nice job to all those who jumped on the Spinhenge project! Didnt take you guys long to get that one over 9K! :)

Looks like I am just about to catch Kendrak in ABC@home. Kendrak what would you say to a little challenge? :D Say a race to 300K?

Excellent! Challenge accepted. Shall we race to 300K or 350K? You've got a bit of a lead on me. :)

Right now I have a C2D running and an old Opteron 170.

Let the games begin!

Why do I have the feeling that I just bit off more than I can chew? :D :D

I promise that I wont switch anything over from F@H that I've had folding for a while.......

That said, I might have been on the FS/FT sub-forum the day before you made the challenge. :D

As they say in the military - Thank you, Sir, for the ASS whooping, may I have another? :D
I'm right there with you - I still have three days queued here at work, and at least two on the quad at home... On the bright side, though, Free-DC says at our current rate, we'll roll another 11 teams in the next 3.5 days! Then there's another 30+ teams in the 2 weeks after that, so after we get everything to 9050, I say we come back to this one for a push even higher - seems like lots of easy pernts there!

Well for you I pulled out all the stops to try and pass you. I had my p4s and a Pentium D working at spinhenge. I turned them off since there points/watts is not as good. I was planning on moving on to some of the Non-Boinc projects after we get everything over 9050 for the boinc ones.

However, I could dedicate a solid week to spinhenge after we hit our 9050 goal for the boinc projects :)

Okay, now that I'm over my ASS Whoopin' in Spinhenge, the next fun "challenge" is here:

Hey SazanEyes, which of us will make it to mfl0p's 2.5 million in Milkyway first? as long as neither of us buy another ATI card for the project, it's shaping up to be a damn good race! According to Free-DC, my short term average is 1200 below yours, but my last 7 days is 3800 above you, so it should be a damn good run... :D

Get yer beer & tamales, because this looks to be a good month long grind - and I promise to keep all my CPU cores on other BOINC projects, too!

Of course, is it a bad omen to make a challenge on someone currently rank 666th in the world on the project?

I see tr0ach is nominated for [H]ard|DCer of the month.
It's about time he gets recognized for all the [H]ard|Work he puts in here for the DC Commandos and is in the FAH millionaire club as well.

I just have to say personally - Thank You tr0ach for all your efforts.

It appears as though Sazaneyes is sneaking up on me in SoB. I may have to to let you pass me and then come back once I am done with boinc projects and take my spot back. :p

That should be a good race. Are you running a 750 overclock too? I think BOINC hung on me and I had to restart it, which is why my overall production was lower. Since that's my primary desktop where I get all my email and stuff, I tend to pause BOINC when I have to do work, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on my rear-view mirror and maintain my lead. ;)

Speaking of tr0ach, I notice he dropped 15K points in Yoyo today. That's a huge ramp-up.

Actually my SoB work finally finished yesterday, so you're safe for now. :D I've switched to SoB sieve. To do 1000G on my dual-core Athlon at work takes about a week and a half. The i7 says it will be done in less than 2 days. Hopefully I find some factors. The guys running the project seem to be pushing PrimeGrid over manual sieving, but it's not dead yet so hopefully we can boost our rather pathetic 1,454 DC Vault points.

Uh, Razor, I just noticed your current MilkyWay output (349K yesterday). Exactly how many ATI cards are you running now? Are you being nice to tr0ach to make up for overtaking him today? :p

I had the 2xHD4870's and here about a week ago I added 2xHD4850's.
tr0ach deserves every nice thing I have to say about him and I don't feel bad for overtaking him because he whoops my rear in a lot of projects.
Some weeks he leads and I follow him around, I guess this week it's my turn to lead.:D

Metallicafan, me thinks you have a bit more horsepower behind you on ABC that you said.

But that would be a foolish thought, would it not?

I didnt lie. :) At the time you asked that's all I had on ABC. Since then I have added a few cores. :D I had a lot of catching up to do. (Still do for that matter)

I promise that I wont switch anything over from F@H that I've had folding for a while.......

I wont hold you to this promise. :D

Well I think that I speak for all of the Horde when I say thanks to both of you for dedicating so much damn horsepower to the effort. I swear you two have enough GPU to run a high powered rendering farm or something. Keep up the good work guys! Full speed ahead. As soon as I get done with some ABC crunching I'll turn back on the 4850.

I see tr0ach just added another video card to MilkyWay.

I think I need a bigger house to put more computers in.

metallicafan, how much of a back log of pending credit do you have? The gap between us keeps getting smaller while my pending credit pile keeps getting larger. I'm up to 3700 points in pending.

Yeah ABC takes a little while for your points to "ramp up" because the project has a quorum of 2 on most of the WUs. So if someone else gets the same WU you complete and then doesn't process it for a while the credit will just sit in pending. I have about 7100 points pending.

Or you could buy smaller computers. :p I'm currently looking at a Shuttle system.

I found a PSP factor yesterday, but it hasn't shown up in the rankings yet.

Actually, I've just been running it stock. Between being out town for consecutive long weekends and my wife/daughter being home and switching from my XP account to theirs, I left it stock for max stability. Now that the wife starts work today (teacher) and the daughter is back to school Monday, I should stop having these 35K days where I lose 6-10 hours a day to BOINC freezing up... Guess I'll have to play less Guild Wars in the evenings now! :D And spend tomorrow doing some serious GPU OCing!
