Well, my two day old Creative Labs X-fi died and took at least the registry with it, Win7 can't even recover more than basic operating operation and the registry and permissions all over the HD have been randomized… So I’m going to slick the drive and start over. The new folding core seemed to really be churning out before, averaged 7K~ish on a totally stock 6950. I know my output is not in the top 100, but this will be the first time I have not been folding at all for even a half day in the last ten years (less overseas deployments). Be back in a day, wish me luck! :)

Creative products have always seemed vindictive to me.

good luck. I'm a bit surprised a piece of dying hardware took out your registry, but I've had my fair share of issues with Creative software as well.

I know this is not GM forum, but is the title to spicy for here? I'll change it if so...

I promise you, it's the nicest thing I said last night- I was on the last page of a paper that is now going to be late (-10% per day), and was up 'till after midnight just recovering most of my data. Turns out the Win7 backup on a USB is no good, I guess I'll use DVD's every other time or something next time.

That's a shame, althought understandable. For some reason, cussing can be as fun today as it was 20 years ago when I was still a kid.

Creative has absolutely the worst pieces of software i've ever seen including their drivers. They just recently released a new set of drivers for their PCIx X-FI lineup of sound cards after releasing a preview set back when windows 7 first came out.

I'm sorry to hear that, but at least you'll have a blank slate that is nice and clean. That is why I went with an Auzentech as you get the awesome X-Fi hardware, but at least it isn't Creative Labs........

My bad, I never would have thought of that word as rude enough, won't happen again. Getting to the point of reloading software again that I can at least see the 'net- SP1 in progress... And going to run some multimedia just to make sure it's not MB related...
