Trying to buy this motherboard, let me know if you know where I can purchase it from, thanks.

newegg will have it soon, my friend that works at a distributor told me they recieved their shipment and are probably taking pics and setting up that item as we speak.

BadAxe2 release is early December according to Gary Kay over at AT

Maybe it uses a newer southbridge? I'm gonna assume the ICH8R vs the older ICH7R.

The sound chip is different, xbx2 has extra raid, and firewire. The other one has TPM :eek:

The one with the TPM and lack of extras makes it look like they are targeting business desktops or workstations.

what's TPM?

TPM = Trusted Platform Module.

The Boxed BX2 has the 5 stack audio and the extra Silicon Image RAID contoller. 1394. Also Viiv compliant. Targeted at consumer.

The LA (Light Augmented) version of the BX2 has the three stack audio, no Silicon Image RAID controller, TPM, no 1394. Targeted at business/workstation.

Both boards are still ICH7.

Shipments just arrived in the channel. Should be available for purchase next week with wide availability.

Boards need updated to BIOS v2330. If you get one with an older BIOS update it. Posted on Intel's site now.

Optimized for quad core support and I think better overall overclocking features.

I feel that the improvements justify the added cost. I'm now torn between the Bad Axe 2 and the P6N Diamond.
