Crysis Single Player Demo

I'm really looking forward to this demo. Anyone know if this demo will be DX10?

Better run as near as UT3 and Cod4. The beta sucked thats for sure. Was barely even playable. I didn't even get to experience the game itself since it lagged so much at times. Just gave up on the beta. Hopefully its better this time around :)

hehe crytek blew it for me. i might dl the demo, probably not though. i got over OMG THE GRAPHICS like 2 months ago. TOO MUCH hype crytek = nothing left for imagination = fail. TF2 is 10000000000x more fun. i just sold my GTX bc i know the only game i will be playing for at least the next year will be TF2, and my spare x1950 pro will do just fine. :)

Better change your sig. Hope you bought some of the good drugs your obviously taking to hang on to that x1950 over the GTX with the money you made on the sale. :p

I doubt the demo contains DX10 features. However, Crytek did say they were going to surprise us with the demo. I don't know if it's only with the CryEngine 2 Sandbox editor or if we're going to get something else. DX10 features may be it...
Wait and see! Friday can't come fast enough :)

I think you just shot yourself in the foot :)

awwwww, dont be jelous cuz im smurt. what part of my spare x1950 pro runs tf2 just fine and tf2 is all im gonna play for a while got past you?

The only surprise will be if it is actually released on said date...after so many delays, many of us are loosing our minds waiting for it. Dangling the candy infront of the kid then taking it away....

I hope the big surprise is a huge boost in performance, I realise with my setup I wont get high settings across the board @1650X1080 but I hope its allot better then the Beta.

I really hope it's not delayed again. I was fairly disappointed with the delay in September. But since it was going to be released 2 months before the full game (which was too long of a wait), I was ok with it.

The surprise is releasing the SDK with the demo, nothing more.

I'll bet the Demo is "only" DX9. Gives it more exposure across a wider range. (just speculation)

It will be interesting to see if it has more than the MP, which was good, but not as astounding as the hype.

I think there are just too many good choices for games right this minute.

The crysis beta didn't run all that great, but the actual gameplay was pretty fun. TF2 is great fun, but I would get bored of it pretty damn quick if it was the only multiplayer game I was playing.

I'm personally having more fun with the UT3 beta demo, then TF2, which isn't even installed anymore since I'll be playing COD4, Gears, UT3, The Witcher, Need for Speed and Crysis shortly. Plus anything else I forgot to add that's being released shortly.

Very cool. I never played the MP beta and I'm not really much of an MP gamer anyway.
Hopefully this one will run at 1920x1080 with at least some of the details turned on.
Considering how well the Unreal games run, I'm hopeful they can shoot for something in that ballpark.

I would worry less about resolution than detail. The Beta looked great at pretty low resolutions with all the eye candy turned on. Turning textures from medium to high made the framerate borderline unplayable.

awwwww, dont be jelous cuz im smurt.

I think that just about settles the point. j/k.

I'm gaming on my TV, which has a 1920x1080 native res. In my case, it's better to play in the native res in lower detail than lower res with higher details...at least most of the time.

Most LCD TV's have a much better scaling the PC Monitors.

Gaming at 720p on a 1080p LCD looks really good, because those TV are made to look optimum at this resolution, which is pretty standard.

1280 x 720 is a great choice on my 1080P Aquos, looks very sharp with 4x AA and is easier on the video card than 1080p without AA.

it wouldn't surprise me if this was another fileplanet exclusive, considering the beta was. i wish people would boycott that site for making people pay for stuff that should always be free.

Yes! The ultimate test of your PC. Finally.

The graphics are the obvious selling point of this game, but it seems to me that there are a lot of interesting gameplay elements in play here as well. I think the nanosuit is going to give the gameplay some depth.

I really hope they take advantage of the suit's abilities. For example, the maximum strength highjump makes climbing some tricky terrain a real possibility, but will they use it? Hopefully the level design will force you to tap into the suit's abilities.

It should be. It's part of the engine, isn't it? lol

I think he only wanted to know if this demo contains it, becase the MP beta didn't.

@kuyaglen

To have destructible environments in the MP portion of the game, the server would be required to send huge amounts of data, to each of the peers connected to it.
The SP campaign however, doesn't have this problem, so I'm sure the demo will feature fully destructible environments, as we've seen in the videos.

I guess I can't care because there "ain't no way" I'll be able to play it on a 6800gt..

:( *sob*

Don't yell at me but what are the min hardware requirements? My bro has a P4 D 2.8 w/ 7300le 1gb ram. I'm figuring it would be a slideshow...

That will be a slideshow for sure with that video card.

Hope that its DX10 and destructable, my new HD should be here so can easily install vista on it if it is DX10.

The countdown is off. It's not coming today. EA is just fooling around.

After reading in the Crysis forums, it sounded to me like the only ones getting the demo tomorrow will be the ones who preordered from EA. They get the demo 24hours before the rest of us.

Hope I'm wrong, but that's what the dude from EA eluded to.

DX10 MP will have destructible environments as well.
