Crysis 1.2 Patch Available

I really wish you wouldn't post links to those scam file downloading sites. Just post a link to torrents already, that's all anyone uses these days to distribute large files.

Capt. l33t has spoken. I really wish people wouldn't rag on someone for no real reason other than to make themselves look "cooler" and contribute nothing of value to the discussion.

Of course to top it off did you post a link? Nope sure didn't.

You would have been better off, just saying "Hey here's link to a torrent" and left it at that. Positive contribution, end of story.

Better luck next time.

Well here's my cold, hard numbers using the gpu.bat benchie. Not exactly sexy.

Specs: 4800+, 8800GT, 2gb RAM, 1280x1024 w/custom config

Crysis 1.1, Driver 169.09: Min 19.56, Max 51.56, Avg 43.80
Crysis 1.2, Driver 169.09: Min 20.63, Max 51.70, Avg 43.11
Crysis 1.2, Driver 169.44: Min 19.95, Max 51.47, Avg 43.23

Talk about no news. LOL I haven't played any Crysis, yet, so I don't have any objective data of performance/gameplay.

This is excellent news, Kyle summed it up in a previous post, it took 4 months for them to finish the game.
Its almost finished, as others pointed out there is a wheel missing off the jeep and a few minor anomalies.
Game play is very smooth now, disregarding the benchmark figures (remaining the same), mine didnt change either.

Crysis is almost polished now, especially if you use Cuban Ultima Doom Sword's Custom Crysis Config [CCC] v1.31

:)

ps the above config generator isnt just for those wanting to get ultra high graphics, there are better configs for every level of PC.
It also has an optional Time of Day mod that really adds atmosphere to the game.
CCC can be added/removed without any impact on the games installation so no worries if you want to try it.

You know, I tried that config out and had really awful luck with it. I can run pretty well at 1440x960 with all high settings and no AA. After the config (set to the high setting in the installer) it was completely unplayable at the same resolution. Am I doing something wrong? Does "high" for Cuban CCC not map to "high" in the stock game settings?

Level 5 was too slow.

I'm sure it's holding it back slightly but it's an issue of comparing my machine to itself and not to a high end Core 2 rig. Is it normal that the high settings above would be unplayable on a machine that could run in game high settings at the same resolution on the same level just fine? Would Medium above look better than High in game?

I got the impression the .cfg was supposed to improve performance substantially as well. Would installing the .cfg without the ToD thing make a difference?

Theres a lot to the CCC mod, I linked to the thread earlier where most of your answers lie.

Regarding your CPU speed,
My old AMD x2 at 2.8GHz could only make use of 80% of my 8800GTs default clock performance and clocking the card made no difference.
With a fast C2D, all the performance can be used and I got a substantial boost from overclocking the GPU as well.

I expect your machine to perform a little faster than 2/3 the speed of mine.
For comparison, see what you get:
I get 51fps in the timedemo with CCC level 4 at 1280x1024 res.
You should get around 34fps on the timedemo.

Make sure VSync is disabled and your driver is set up for "single display performance mode" in Manage 3D settings.

well i just uninstalled crysis and now i can't reinstall. Keep getting a objects.pak error and now im getting a zpatch1.pak error on a different drive.

Yea, this patch is really f*cked. I can't get it to install and I can't get it to do a repair either and I'm afraid to do an uninstall - might not get it to install again. I'd understand if I had an illegal copy of Crysis but I bought the Special Edition version - $53 spent and I can't even patch it.

I had to completely uninstall and it installed the patch without a hitch.

can someone please load up the game and tell me the 'version' in the lower right hand corner. thanx.

The 1.2 patch has made a world of difference for me. I actually reinstalled and finished - and what a letdown the ending was. Regardless, it's a different game now.

You know what is most telling and most disappointing; the best looking, best running config didn't even come from the developers.

Guys I need a config for my new baddass rig for crysis.
Quad core @ 3.0ghz
8800 ultra 768mb
4 gigs ram
Vista 64
24" lcd

Should I be running in dx9 mode or dx10 with lower settings for best graphics? Before 1.1 patch I ran at 20-30 fps on high in dx10 but it was choppy. I read running in dx9 mode is better and looks just as good..but not sure if that pertains to my rig since its newer. No clue how to make a autoexec Can someone post a good config for my system spec please?

I would run this in DX9. The TOD lighting makes a huge difference. Depending on your monitor settings it can look more real.

Almost as good as DX10 minus some of the over the top motion blur and runs smooth. I'm running about the same system as you since SLI doesn't do much and probably has me on the same level as your Ultra.

This patch made a huge difference. My framerates are pretty consistent now and stay above 30.

8800 Ultra running at 1280x720.

What settings are you using? I was thinking about playing it at 1280x768 on my 46XBR4 because right now I'm only rocking a 19" on the desktop.

Everything set to high except I have blur at medium. No AA. Runs prefect on every level.

Although, this could also be because I did a full reinstall of Crysis and then patched it with 1.2. I had that POS CUSD or Cuban mod or whatever it tis called installed which sucked. Uninstalled it and no matter what I chose my setting always said custom.

your post is meaningless without specs, and settings

You're post is meaningless, too, even though you've provided specs. Ironic, eh? :D

EDIT: O wait... then my post is meaningless, too... It's a never ending cycle of meaninglessness..ess!!

The mod seems ok to me. Your right though that it screws up the settings and you have to manually change it back each time from custom.

Impressive patch. I half expected to see this game hit the shelves and then be abandoned, but its nice to see support still.
