Crysis 1.2 Patch Available

F12, and they're saved in your My Games/Crysis folder.

Did you reformat for each patch, or is it possible your computer might have slowed down a bit over time from usage?
it was a fresh install of the game and runs were done last night.

I'm having the same problem. I put the movies back into the folder replaced my cvargroups and now I'm gettign "please insert the crysis dvd" when it IS in my dvd drive. I also had to reinstall for the 1.1 patch.

Check this link out: http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?postid=115924

Hopefully that can solve some problems for anyone having issues here.

Side note: Does anyone know if they rebuild the demo with these new patches or if the patches would work on the demo? I'm not buying the game until it's actually in a non-beta form, but I'd like to see some of the improvements that have been made since pre-release.

If it's smoother than maybe I can finally play it on my 7600GT???

........Naw, going to have to wait for a video card upgrade.

All the bitching and moaning is incredible...yes, cervat lied about how current cards could run the game....big deal, we are over it, or should be. The fact is, Crysis is an incredible game engine and will be around for a looooong time.

Why is the bitching and moaning so incredible? Crysis is a game that most people can not play, I am shocked it sold as many copies as it did. Sure it looks great, but it also runs like complete ass on most configurations, so you can expect a ton of bitching. For the copies sold, I highly doubt most of the people found the game to be enjoyable from a performance standpoint. Its not like this is just paving the way to the future with more games with a bunch of licenses lined up with games based on this engine (like Doom 3). The gameplay is kinda of meh, and by the time mig range PCs can reasonably play the game, no one will care about it anymore.

Weapon switching in single player is so much smoother now. Cool.

i'm liking this patch. before it wouldnt matter what rez i went to i wouldnt gain any fps. now dropping down to 1024x768 with one 8800GTS @ 650/1550/900. 4xAA 16xAF all on *high* it never drop's below 30 fps :) usually 35-40 is my average. would be nice if SLi actually did something, but it doesn't do a whole lot so 1024, and a single card it is ;)

This patch is excellent.
The first and most useful part is fixing of corrupt saves.
Previously, a broken save takes a few minutes to load and performing a save afterwards normally took a few minutes or never completed.
Now, it takes a while to load but saving afterwards is instant and fixes the problem.

Gameplay is a lot smoother too.

I've never had any broken saves, but here's what I've noticed about the 1.2 patch:

Pros - smoother gameplay
Cons - user profile got reset to 'default' and had to reselect my profile, all my custom key mappings were reset to their defaults, in the save games I've loaded (I haven't finished the single player yet so this is important to me) all the humvees have invisible rear wheels and tires so appear to be floating above the ground (but still drive around fine), and saw my first crash in the game after 30 minutes of play (played for another hour straight no issues though)

I've done some google searches and it appears everything but the crash I saw are widespread problems with the 1.2 patch. The humvee invisible wheels is just kind of funny/sad. They need better QA.

well with 676/1750 clocks at 1024x768 , all medium and with no AA or AF I got 31.2 fps with Crysis 1.0. people make fun of the 8600gt but its much better than what 90% of the computers use to play games. most 7600gt and 7900gs owners still have their head up their butt because when the 8600gt first came out it sucked. a few months later it turned out much better with updated drivers and easily beats the 7900gs in modern games like CoD4, Crysis, Oblivion, Bioshock, STALKER, and UT3. ;)

It still blows compared to the 8800 Cards though.. and you can get those for $120 starting out.. Might want to upgrade man.

yes Im well aware that the 8800 series is better. in my case the 8800gt wasnt as big as inprovement as I hoped for though in the two weeks that I used one. Crysis only went from 31 fps to the 36 fps at 1024x768 with all medium settings because I was cpu bound and my 5000 X2 is a joke compared to the core 2. so in reality I need a much better monitor to actually take advantage of what an 8800 series card has to offer. ;)

Bummer...nothing in the logs about fixing the "objective not updating" problem in the second level after the tanks that caused me to stop fussing with Crysis.

At least it downloaded really fast.

I'll give it another shot.

Hey man, I had that same problem! But there is an easy solution, load a save before you went into the village. This time, make sure you go across the bridge then into the political type building FIRST. Its the building with the red flags outside and usually a big carrier truck vehicle. Go near a computer on the first floor, you will then get a message from Prophet telling you to keep looking. Then head up stairs to another PC and you'll get another message. Prophet then tells you to go into the building where the hostage is. As long as you it in the order I mentioned, Psycho will update. I confirmed that fix myself when I had the issue, it works perfectly. Yes a little annoying but luckily it doesn't take long at all. For some reason, going into the hostage building firsts screws up the objectives. I am surprised that wasn't fixed in this patch though. Good luck man and enjoy, let me know how it works out for you or any questions!

Cliffs notes:
Cross bridge into village
Go into political building first and get both messages from Prophet over voice comms.
Then rescue hostage

This patch straight kicks arse. At 1920x1200, I couldn't run any AA and still enjoy it. Now I can run 2xAA and it feels as fast as before without AA. Big thumbs up. Going to run some benches now....
The whole thing is much smoother.

OK,it's definitely an improvement. This is using the rig in my sig (OC'd 8800GTX, OC'd E6600 etc.)

Using the Crysis demo utility, here's the results.

1920x1200, no AA, FS, VERY HIGH, DX10, VSync Enabled

NO patch Forceware 169.17 BETA
12.93 FPS Average

1.1 patch Forceware 169.25 WHQL
13.92 FPS Average

1.2 patch Forceware 169.44 BETA
15.32 FPS Average

why the heck would you run the game with VSync Enabled when you know the performance is already going to be low??

Try exploring the dvd and launching the setup.exe and click "repair".

This worked for me in 1.1. But I just tried it again and i get the same 1334 error that I do trying to install the patch.

In the process of unistalling and starting over, again....

The 1334 Error seems to be from modified game files and other things like that. Renaming, or moving movie files will do that, as well as Natrual Mod and stuff like that. Best bet is either to repair or uninstall them temporarily, then patch. Worked like a charm for me.

Now I just need a decent custom config file for my system so it can look good and still play at more than ~25 fps. I might be asking too much though.

Running it at 1920x1080
Using Natural Mod default settings.
Q6600 @ 3.4GHz
4GB RAM (it's good stuff, nice and fast)
BFG 8800GT

Any pointers?

True, but you will see quite a dramatic improvement over the 8600GT anyways. Not optimal, but better.

1920x1200 Very High looks insane but 15fps=FAIL. I dropped the resolution down to 1280x768 and bumped the AA to 4x and it actually plays smooth. I'm sure I'm seeing 20FPS in some spots but I'm not checking and I don't care. I can't check the ice level or the last level because after the patch, my saved games are gone. I had to start over. But in all setting combinations which I've tried so far, they all played smoother than it did prior to patching and upgrading the driver. I should have tried the patch without the driver to see if there would be a difference. Oh well.

Glad to see i'm not the only one getting the weird hummer tire error. on a second note my performance in crysis sucks outrageously. granted its playable and i get decent frames but all low settings except physics just isnt all that great.

this patch really unfucked the game, really smooth gameplay for 1900X1200 all settings high,

only problem i see is that the rear tires are missing from the jeeps?

anyways i am going to finally play through it:D

Add me to the list....invisible tires....neato. On a side note, I run at 1920x1080 with everything to medium EXCEPT shaders to high in DX9 mode, and it is quite playable and smooth. 22fps to 45fps....maybe it feels faster because all those tires aren't rendered:p

specs, drivers?

specs, drivers?

Q6600 ( stock)
8800gtx (stock)
IP35PRO
4GB RAM
Vista64
latest nvidia beta drivers( claim to be good with the crysis patch)

all settings set to high except after setting it to high crysis changes most of the settings to custom? i dont get it

ZPatch1.pak applies custom settings to your default profile just use another profile besides default

i thought it was an old custom config file i had so i reinstalled everything and it still does it:confused:
I think you're on to something. I checked my Crysis folder and found that the Natural Mod uninstall didn't remove the custom System.cfg file from it. I renamed it and I get normal settings. I also didn't notice that it switched to my default profile. My old profile is still there along with my saved games. Yay! Here are the contents of the config file. The game looks better with these settings, especially the water.

i don't know what the deal is but everything looks great and runs fine i think i should leave it all alone

I'm running Vista 64bit so it's under C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis on my computer.

Wake me up when they release the patch that gives dx9\10 jungle fight vid visuals. Yeah theres mods that enable those kind of graphics but usually they work fine on jungle levels and give graphical glitches on the ice levels or the core level.

i take donations :D haha
id have a better setup but i kinda ran outta money and spend all my money in gas now :|

I really wish you wouldn't post links to those scam file downloading sites. Just post a link to torrents already, that's all anyone uses these days to distribute large files.
