Crossfire- 6870 too hot?

Good Morning,

I have two 6870's in my system. When I run a program called Furmark that maxes out the cards, I get a steady 88C. Seems awful hot to me. Anybody know if these are normal temps for these cards?
 
Furmark usually pushes cards hotter then they'll normally run playing the most stressful games, as its designed to stress out the cards as much as possible. The normal temperatures you'll see will normally be below this. Try them out with a recent game with maxed out graphics (metro 2033 is on sale today on steam for $9.99 [) and youll see much more "realistic" reseults.
 
One other suggestion -- Turn on manual fan control and set the cards to 100% when you run any benchmarking application. If you leave it on auto then temps will definitely climb pretty high. Reference card coolers generally aren't the best but they aren't terrible either and should be able to get your card down around or below 60C.
 
I have a 4870 on a stock cooler and unlike a lot of after market cooler cards, this thing is still churning along
