It's like a single player version of Black Desert Online. What the hell is this game? This could be exceptional or it could be total jank. Weirdly, I’m just not excited about this. That said, lately, way too many games I’ve been excited about have let me down - so who knows.

This gives me hope. Not a purple haired retard in sight!
Holding off on this one until I see the monetization. Black Desert Onlinel, Pearl Abyss' previous title, was a catastrophe of item mall/gacha style nonsense wrapped around a game that seemed more style than substance and had most of the worst of the K-MMO design elements involved. We've also seen the release of similarly complex-appearing games like Where Winds Meet recently (which had insanely predatory monetization in its original Asian release, and even its global launch was filled with all manners of gacha for certain cosmetics, limited time item malls, and more)
While I won't discount the idea they could just make a solid single player title with buy-to-play monetization, I'll be curious how things will progress content wise to see if those other systems will be added post launch as 'necessary' to support and expand the game, as opposed to more one-off elements like buying expansions or the like. Hoping for the best, but skeptical to say the least.
I thought you said you were skipping it?First Game of the Year I'm picking up already pre-ordered. The Giants in the game have me sold the vendors and particles effects looks like something never done before.
