Instead of pampering their customers by shipping product out in a timely manner, online retailer Tooth & Nail Cosmetics out of New Bern, N.C. has allegedly resorted to silencing irate customers on social media according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). A bevy of complaints have been registered with the agency over the past year ranging from not responding to email requests, damaged products, 3 month late shipping and completely blocking customers who inquire about the status of their orders on social media. When the BBB requests for followups to the complaints were also blocked by the company, the BBB struck back with a F grade.

Based on BBB files, Tooth and Nail Cosmetics has a pattern of complaints concerning a lack of response to consumer's request for assistance, consumers are not receiving their product and not receiving refunds. On 3/26/2018 the company was invited to meet with the BBB to discuss ways to correct the underlying cause of the complaints. The company has failed to respond to our request.

Its ok, they will just give the BB some money and reply to a couple of customers and they will be back to an A in just a couple of weeks.

Well, there's a first for everything I guess.

The BBB is usually a paid service by the businesses they rate, so a company has to REALLY screw up to get on their bad side (or maybe, just not pay)

This tells you all you need to know. For the unaware, you have to apply for (and pay a fee) to get accredited.

BBB ratings are about one step above useless. Those effers kept hounding us here at work for at least 5-8 years to shell out $$$ for "the honor" of being accredited and get their fancy schmancy plaque, signs, etc. They finally stopped bugging us, guess they got the point.

BBB salesman actually "threatened" us saying if we didn't pay to join they would lower our rating. Needless to say the slew of profanity I shouted at the guy before hanging up was a thing of beauty.

You should put that in a Yelp review of the BBB.

I wish BBB and the CFPB actually had real teeth their like European Union counterparts. Quality of service and customer relations would increase 10 fold overnight. Include the EPA in this, and say goodbye to hundreds of harmful chemicals in our food supply that have been banned in Europe and even in China for years, among other improvements across various sectors. The Corporate States of America and it's plutocracy, born January 20th, 1981, needs to come to an end.

I think we've seen enough of empowered do-gooders regulating everything and fining everyone for our own benefit. I'd rather take my chances with the chemicals.

CFPB is overreaching politicians with no understanding of financial markets attempting to overregulate them. Hurts the little guys who we should all be hoping can survive. Otherwise your post is solid my man!

When I saw Sallie Mae student loan company had an A+ rating I knew that the BBB was as useful as a road cone on railroad tracks.

Was going to say does anyone ever go to the BBB to see how good a business is before showing up? About the only thing they're maybe good for is to put the plaque in your window that says "hey I paid the money to become part of it" really no different than "Diamond Certification"

Edgy teen? Lol. I've worked with the BBB many times, due to the fact I have a high level position for an organization and have needed to address complaints made to them. But I'm sure you would understand that /s.

BBB doesn't sell shit, it's literally non-profit 501(c) and you can pay dues to support them... You are just one more doing the partisan made up bullshit that y'all are now empowered to talk shit about anything that took you down a peg.

You still sound like an edgy teen who is doing exactly what you are claiming I am. As many have pointed out, they actively give out good grades if you are a paying member, those who refuse to become paying members they gleefully knock them down and use that as an exploitation tactic to try and extort money. The precise scenario was BBB guy called in (we had been a member before but quit after seeing a company that was sued into oblivion still have is nice A rating). Told us there was a complaint filed against us, and if we don't re join they will take our rating down. But if we join the "complaint" would be forgiven. What pissed me off was the 3rd and 4th time they called on this when I knew for a fact none of our customers had filed a complaint (one of the perks of having the highest level position in the company of owner) and they called again when I was in a foul mood, the kid from the BBB was trying to act like he couild strong arm me and I blew my shit.

Fortunately for you, I generally hold my temper for 3 or 4 passes before I can no longer take the high road and just go megaton on cocky little ignorant shits...
