Every 2 minutes the cc323 persons points goes up about 100 pts. Every 2 minuts brh27's points goes up around 90 points. We need more computers.

Well my black mail ain't going to work this way...

Evil thought: Funds to the farm or I fold for the #1 guy.... I'm mostly kidding.
.
hehe  :(
Maybe that guys is just in the lab now and not running it 24/7 like we all could.
I think that may be true, he only went up at night time the past two days, though I don't know if that was the only time he was running or the only time he could make sure the programs ran (before they released the one that reconnected automatically)

edit- re:blackmail...I'm going to fold for the horde, i promise

i just took 23 2.8ghz machines in this lab...all the open ones. I'm going to be here the next couple hours making sure they keep running, and hopefully helping me catch/pass this guy.

more [h]'ers would definitely help too, thanks you guys :)

Brh and the cc323 person are both producing more points every 2 min then the 2nd guy. So that is good news.

With the labs computers, I am now producing more points than #1...difference between current top 10 and previous:

him - 206
me - 321 :D

Yes that lab is really helping. I have a graph here that I'm entering the numbers in every few minutes. The lab really helped. Just stay in there and do your homework and keep them running for a few hours.

Well you made 3rd place, under an hour to pass the 2nd place person.

I just installed it. I'll install it on my other boxes if I can get my networking issues resolved.

What in the world is this program dependant on? I ask because after two errors that just let me click through and continue  The Efficeon is kicking through these in 2-5 seconds a piece and it is only a 1ghz 256bit VLIW processor.

I get those every once in a while too...program error but it keeps running.

Maybe he is a 1337 h4x0r and we are launching a DDOS. Just my theory :D

.net plus I think it needs direct x 9.0c for the graphics. I think the direct x is optional as I've had the errors too but just click on through them.

Ahh...well I meant more like mhz or what since the efficeon seems from the reports to be slugging through them as fast as the other systems that are considerably faster.

Anyone want to do some fuzzy math and guess how many WU's are in this program? I'm thinking Job total= points so to speak.

If we knew how many WU's there are, we could corner this entire program with time to spare. Jack things way up for the short term and lock it down.

"The scope of the whole problem would take four months to complete on 1,000 computers"

Anyone install it on a 100 mhz computer?

I've got a 166 here all assembled, no OS (was smoothwall).

It's a windows only deal I think, could lay NT on the box if I got that board.

I like this quote, "30 seconds to 30 minutes " per wu. that is funny. They must have benchmarked that on a really slow computer. It says that this program needs Windows XP. Anyone installed it on 2000 or 98? I have a 98 sitting here but it doesn't have the .net update, well it also has only 24mb of ram, so that would probably hold it back.

lay .net on it- "Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP" for .net

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

what speed is it? would be interesting if it only took 10 seconds per WU.

Yea, and needing 512 meg of ram.... bull

My average has dropped to 2-3 seconds

Frick. I would fold for you and help you out, but all my boxen are Mac OS X boxen... I can try to borg a few computers at the lab, though... hopefully that will help. (I just hope they have .net on them . Anyway, man let's nuke this project! [H] to the rescue!!

Its a 110-120mhz P1 with 24mb of ram. It might need to do some hard drive caching but I think it might work. I'll know in a few minutes. I'm going to run it without DX9, since it seems like that still works. I'm going to laugh if it can spit a wu out in a few minutes.

It should launch the program and give you the option of either running 1 job or continuously...

Well, I have been lurking for a few days and decided to join, so here I am! Btw, I have been running the folding for the last half hour or so...so you can add a 2.4 GHz to your list! We gotta win...just so ya'll know, I am a little obsessive with dc..I run a 5 week schedule of 5 different programs that rotates every five weeks...f@h, s@h, moneybee, particle accelerator, prime95. Cheers!

Hmmm... i clicked X to close the pop-up and see what would happen anyway.. and on one of the comptuers, things worked... or at least i'm guessing they did cause i got little protiens spinning around... on this machine that i'm making my post from, the whole program just dies hard-core, and i can't even right-click on the taskbar's icon. I don't want to go ahead and fold anyway, because i don't know who's name i would be folding under? Can anyone who's running this succesfully check to see if the email is in a file somewhere on the HDD? Maybe i can edit the file manually....

in the folder you installed the program to...
ctc_contest.dat

I opened it in notepad, there was one line of text containing my email address. I would guess that it's the file. :)
