I need some help deciding on a computer to get to to replace my laptop. I am a gamer and my laptop barely has the specs to run right. I need a computer that has or can do the following:
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Mostly gaming and some animation software( For the games The most demanding game I would think would be Dead Space 3 and for animation I use Unity)
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I would like to say 600 is a safe price but I might be able to go to 700
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
I live in El Paso TX
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Im going to need the CPU, RAM, Video Card, etc. I'm not a big computer guy, I am not familiar with naming all of the parts sorry.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I am not doing to be reusing any parts
6) Will you be overclocking?
If it is possible more then likely
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
I have a 1080P 3D monitor
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Hopefully in the next month or two
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Just the stuff to run what I had listed earlier. Sorry if I am not listing all of the items because I am not familiar with them all.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
I do not but I would prefer Windows 7 64-bit
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this. I have a friend who can build it if a pre-built kit is to expensive. Thanks Guys!

Hola from El Paso! We are FAR away from a Microcenter. I am not going to post links. The site I use isn't viewed upon kindly here, and I hate searching the recommended one. I don't mind spending my money with the recommended one, I just hate trying to find stuff there :)

CPU: Core i5 3350P (This CPU has no integrated graphics, and is an Ivy Bridge CPU) $185'ish
Motherboard: Most B75 chipset motherboards. Pick your favorite brand. These have USB 3.0, SATA 6G, Gb ethernet, etc. $70'ish
Memory: $90 or so for 16GB (2X8GB) of a good brand. You could get away with 8GB most likely, but prices are creeping up, and most of the B75 chipset motherboards only have two ram slots.
OS: $100 for Win7 64-bit Home Premium OEM.
Videocard: Figure $200+ for a video card you would want to use (GTX 660 or Radeon 7850. 2GB memory for either.

You didn't mention storage, but my list above takes you over $600 unless you go for 8GB ram or don't need an OS. Looking at the FS/FT forums here wouldn't be a bad place to look either. Sign-up for the major e-tailers mailing lists or daily specials. Can find some good stuff there too.

Don't go with artimusbill's outline since it doesn't include a PSU or case. As such, it would far far outside your budget.

Now again: Since you don't have have a legit and reusable OS key, is the cost of a new OS key part of that $600 budget? Or is part of a seperate $100 budget?

A bit over budget but it's gonna be your best bet for the cheapest bang for the buck setup.
