Pretty bold statement there, especially considering the game hasn't been released.
Have you never played an actual tactical shooter before? Those are where the realistic guns are. I think the guns in this game are alright but they still lack realism. The M4A1 feels like one of the guns from CoD1/2/3 (can't remember which one, not the thompson...), it's just skinned differently.
I don't care for tactical shooters. The pace is too slow and I like running gunning action. Rainbow six and the others are just not my thing. As for the weapons, they are operated correctly in COD4 and incorrectly in other games I've played. When reloading in most games (especially before the mag is emptied), they drop the mag, put in a new one and then cock the weapon again. In reality this would eject the round that was already previously chambered. Also when the mag and chamber are empty, in most games they replace the mag and recock the weapon. Again this is wrong for most weapons. The M4 Carbine and M9 have slide stops that hold the slide back, (or the bolt carrier in the case of the M4) in the open position after the last round has been fired. When you reload in real life, or in this game the slide release is used to rechamber the weapon when a fresh mag is inserted. Also they didn't model all the weapons backwards so that all the cool stuff showed on the left side like STALKER and so many other games do.
I'm a gun guy and those things are of great irritance to me. As for the weapons other behavior, recoil is about right, sights and sight picture is about right, and as far as ballistics go, while not being simulator realistic, they are fairly accurate. The only thing is that I found the M9 to be a little too powerful. For headshots it's close enough but against targets wearing body armor it shouldn't be so easy to kill with it.
