the filth inside that keyboard would make me shaky too.

that should be the next challenge on fear factor. lick the inside of a nerds keyboard..... :D
 
that looks pretty bad... accept that much shit buildup took you 3 years... I clean out the keyboard from a compaq that I had for a year and it had that much... had I let it go for 3; well that would be worthy of me just throwing out the keyboard.
 
Yeah, just about a week ago i got around to cleaning my Windows Natural Multimedia keyboard. It was getting pretty bad, not that bad but still a little gross. Pizza, Top Ramen, Carls Jr. etc. Looks pretty good now, but it was kind of pain putting the thing back together. Glad you got yours cleaned out, i don't think i'd be able to eat dinner at my computer with it looking like that!:p
 
I just started removing the keys off my keyboard, and...yikes.
And bengreen, get your head out of the gutter. :D
 
what I hate is when you use canned air to blast out the crud inbetween your keys, and somehow you get an angle where the crap blows right into your face....

damn... I sure hope I'm not the only one this has happened to
 
about two years ago i had a ms natural keyboard, loved it very dearly. some of the keys started not to go all the way down. had so much stuff stuck under them sometimes they'd get stuck in place. i started to clean it out, took off a few keys. then i thought to myself, i'm not that poor. it was discusting. i'm not even sure what most of it was. looked like some of the food had fallen down there and ...matured. :(

that's quite disgusting. Keyboards will do that, though. Can't do much about it besides regular cleaning.

You guys are [H]ard! Man, I cleaned my keyboard out a couple weeks ago and it was the first time I had ever took the keys off and cleaned it. Needless to say, it was pretty clean. Having been unemployed for nearly a year and half out of the past 2 years, I spend A LOT of time at my computer as well.

Anywho, I realize it is not a close up, but you can tell it is not nearly as dirty as the one in the first post of this thread.

And its not just the crud on the inside that gets too me either. I bought some Windex® wipes so I can wipe off the keys and the boarder... yeah... so Im insane... at least Im clean!

whoa 2 pages in less then 2 hours, haha. Idk about you IoWnZa but i'm a poor college student. Can't afford a new keyboard. And yeah i used Clorox Disenfecting wipes on the WHOLE keyboad. The keys press so smooth now

It took three years for that to build up. A friend of mine usually has his keyboard gunked up ten times worse than that in six months tops. I keep telling him he needs to get a new keyboard and he keeps replying that he just needs to clean it. I wouldn't clean his keyboard if you paid me. I'm afraid of what would jump out and bite me.

I have some of those sitting on my desk right now. Although that's just because I don't feel like leaving them in the car and anywhere other than my desk they'd get theived by the rest of my family.

heh, that anit notthing, i had my old compaq OEM keyborad for 1 and half years that it had hair, bread crums, boogers,etc
and the letters on the keys were wearing out. :p

Oh man, I have never done that to any of my keyboards yet. I have one that I've had for about 3 years now, my main. I also have one thats probably 5 years old, and one almost 10 years to the month. I don't even want to think about it, I'll throw up.
