AtomicMoose and zim01 are no longer members of our community here. They have refused the democratic processes that are being put into place. Frankly I am unsure what exactly they are unhappy with, except the fact that our team direction will be decided by the team from here out. I don't know what to say except that I hope others here give an organized and elected team structure a chance to flourish. Obviously some of you will choose to follow them and I wish you the best of luck.

Their absences will of course give some others a chance to step up and become team leaders and I am personally looking very much forward to having the group managing itself.

Vote here to share your thoughts on officially supported [H]orde projects.

Step up to be a Team Leader here.

I will be moderator of this forum for the time being. I will have no official say about team business. Forum moderators are simply present to enforce the HardForum rules we all agreed to when we registered. Mods are not here to promote [H]orde agendas or ideas.

Elected team leaders will be responsible for moving the team forward as a group. I would suggest that most big decisions be voted on, but that will be up to the team leaders and whether or not the team decides to give them that much power.

Well, I am disapointed with the way all this panned out, and I am even more disappointed to see George and Chris banned. However, it's your forum, I am not going to fight it. Gunna miss Chris in genmay though.

That said, I think this team leader idea will ultimately pan out for the greater good of the team, and I wish you luck with it.

Had they been doing anything to help the process here, they of course would still be here. They control their own destiny. I am not going to sit here and allow them to continue to use our PM system to try and break apart our team. :( None of this is any fun for me either. I much would have rather seen this all work out democratically, but obviously that is something that George and Chris are not comfortable with for some reason.

The bottom line is that neither one of them wanted to be here any longer, and they are not. If they wish to return and come back to be a part of the [H]orde, they know my email address.

I don't mean to argue with you, as I certainly don't want to join the B7 list, but Chris certainly was not using PM's to try to break the team apart.

And this is quite an unfair statement to me. I hardly ban people for arguing with me and you suggesting that I do paints a picture of me here that is not warranted.

I did not send Chris packing. Chris LEFT the [H]orde on his own terms and started his own team. I was counting on him being a team leader, but he will not be one if he is going to be running his own team and having his teammate use our boards for recruiting via PM.

Setting up your own team, pusing it out on the [H]orde's forum, is not what I call being part of the [H]orde.

He does not like the fact that he got demodded. That has nothing to do with the [H]orde. But some folks seem to think it is one in the same when they should be treated exclusively. He broke one of the golden rules of modship and as pointed out before, this is a big issue with me. Getting upset about it and starting your own team, when you are saying you want to be part of the [H]orde does not make sense.

I'm not sure where to ask this, so I'll just fire away.

Would a thread about a "break away" team be allowed in the DC forum here?

Previously active recruiting in the DC forum for other teams was not allowed and I'm just checked to see if this has changed. Vipers question on this in another thread which I think went unanswered and their has been some eluding to that it might be ok (or it's all in my head).

Obviously, nothing via PM, just an open thread for any and all whom may be interested.

That is already being done via PM. There will be no thread here promoting another team. That may have been something I would have allowed a couple of days ago, but given the attitudes and actions I have witnessed, that will not be a reality now. There seems only to be motivation to hurt the [H]orde at this point and I will not allow that.

It is quit sad the way things have taken a turn these last few days while I have been gone. I really hate to see these kind of things. Nothing looks worse for us as a team.

I am rather confused and new here as well.

I swear I read an earlier post, maybe from Kyle maybe not, that said even if there was only 1 "official" team there could be non-official ones as well. That only "official" teams would get recruitment and links off the [H]ardOcp site but non-official ones would still be welcome in the DC forum. That to me sounded like folks were free to set up all the un-official teams they want. But now that is verbotten as well?

Just checking since it seems to a noobie here that you can easily break through the ice so to speak while skating around here.....and I'm not looking to do that.

I have my own opinions about the entire concept of democracy but that's for another time and place :)

Charpman, I think Kyle meant that we could have unnoficial other projects that we are supporting, but that they wouldn't get pimped by the main hardocp site. I don't think that we want the DC subforum though be a home to say multiple F@H teams. Just one team 33 with F@H for instance. So it would be ok in the future to have in the DC subforum both WCG and R@H and F@H or others but depending on how things go in the close future either 1 or 2 projects will get the full support of hardocp not 3 for instance.

There's a HUGE difference between running, for example, WCG on a unofficial [H] team and starting a new Folding@Home team that has nothing to do with [H].

Kyle, I don't understand the direction you want to take this. You banned Moose because Zim set up a new team that has the word Moose in it which Moose had nothing to do with. Then you ban Viper for defending Moose. Are you going to ban everyone who says they disagree with you?

I am sure there is a lot more to all of this then what we see here

Again......

Moose was demodded because he broke moderator ettiquette. Every other mod that has broken this ettiquette in the past has been demodded. It had nothing to do with what was going on with the [H]orde. So no, I did not ban Moose because Zim set up a new team.

No, Viper was not banned for defending Moose.

No I am not.

You can read up a lot more on this here.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
Turn and face the strain
Ch-ch-Changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can't trace time

David Bowie said it best. I think a bit of change will be good. Instead of fighting things we cannot change, let's accept them and move forward. Hell, more people are getting butt-hurt over UD ending than I did getting divorced. Actually I was more like "See ya, good luck, you're going to need it."

Anyways, this somber mood is really depressing. Hopefully tomorrow I can start a new thread bragging about how high I oc'd my new e6420 and how soon I'll be kicking some of your asses! :D

Well said... If we cannot fix things who are blocking the path, it's better to remove them. It's time for a blood change anyway as this is too much drama for nothing, over points and loyalty. A real soldier will never question their loyalty to something even if this mean getting thru some bad mess at times. Those we thought are leaders, are in reality ppl with ego a bit too big for our taste.

charpman, about multi projects and multi-teams, those 2 things are different. We do allow pimping of the various projects as long as each project is with the [H] team. We don't allow pimping for other teams as this will obviously lead to a mess. Can you try to be a NYR zealous fan in a Detroit amphitheater ??

Thanks all. Just needed some clearification.

I have been a long time reader of [H]ardOCP and finally got involved in folding in the Are You Moose Enough UD contest. I moved over from my own team, just me and a few friends of 5+ years. Then I switched over to FaH on the Ramp Up contest. Both were run by Moose so in a round about way he's kinda the one that got me involved.

I don't know much about the politics and the infighting going on or the background of all parties.

I am currently involved with my older gear in the [H] team started by Moose at R@H , switched right after UD went under, and just want to make sure that's "okay".

This is a good thing and I don't know all the political mess myself as well. We can say that we don't have any ties with the "old guard" as we can call them and with this in mind, we could take better decisions for the team.

About the R@H team, we could use a leader and you may be a good choice IMHO as Moose is now out...

Fix things who are blocking the path? Moose and Viper were blocking the path to what? These two did more to promote [H] than any other 10 people. Moose may not have been the best forum moderator but he did an awesome job at leading the direction to get [H] and the leading points producing team in the world. As real soldier would be loyal to their leader and no matter what you say our leader was Moose not the person who never folded and never posted on the site until the day he demmoded Moose. I think its very bad form to bad mouth our former leader

I didn't mean to badmouth them but they took a bad choice after they get thru a bad sequence of events. The roadblocks I'm refering is those who want to participate in the team only to push their own agenda or refuse any changes.

I agree that Moose did a stellar job promoting the team and a great moderator. However, I know he is in a bit of a struggle between his mod duty and the team leaader duty (he admitted this once when I said this, in another thread) and after the recent events, got pissed off...

It is pointless to talk about things that are in the past now. Onto the future.

TWe can say that we don't have any ties with the "old guard" as we can call them

Do not bring up this term again. This term was invented by one person to do nothing more than create divisions in the team, cause infighting and attempt to marginalize outspoken members that did not fit into his mold.

I'll tell you there are more of the people around this term was invented for than you might think. I think your might be surprised if you found out the people that term was invented for. I'm personally sick of hearing it mentioned especially since most people have no damn clue who it was made in reference to and why. Just drop it before it causes even more problems.

Buzz words, catch phrases and titles do nothing but harm all of us.

Heck of a weekend to be out of town. I think I'm happy that was the case.

Wow, I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor. I'm really bummed that it has come to this given how much I've enjoyed reading some threads in the past. Still the focus is on the science and we will move forward from here as a team.
