Fixed cases where Dragon Age 2 would hang in DirectX11 on ATI Radeon™ HD 5800 Series products.

Found by searching for 6990 drivers specifically. Considering there are updates for the 5800 series, there's probably no issue in compatibility. I just installed them myself (5850), and will update with any issues I find!

Please post your results, I might consider installing them first with my new HD6950 instead of 11.2 drivers...

11.3 are probably being submitted to MS to get WHQL certified as we speak.

The 11.4 would then be what they are working on *now* and will have more recent fixes for games, video cards that have been released this week.

Apparently, the top right corner mouse lag and GPU stack at 99% bugs are still in 11.4...

I'll still probably try them on my rig...

They look like 11.3 without WHQL...

Early reports by peeps show some positives and some tiny improvements, some old/nagging problems are still there, but I haven't see anyone reporting any new major issues.

Looks like I’ll go with them over 11.2 for my new single 6950...

Guess it’s too much to expect performance gains for the 4xxx series these days.

Can anyone with a 6950 or 6970 test if these drivers correct the post-processing problem in Bulletstorm?

If you don't know about the problem, if you have a 6900 card and set post-processing to high, you'll only get the lighting effects (sun shafts and shading) on half of the screen. There's a diagonal line where it is and isn't being applied.

Edit: Nope not fixed here

I've noticed a bit of an improvement in FPS (about 10-15% in my un-scientific testing) in Rift on my crossfire 6850s

I"ll gladly try them if it even has a chance of fixing the choppy video playback issue I get in VLC media player.

No reboot needed after upgrade, nice. There's also a built in update feature that has a scheduled check. I wonder if it will support caps. Catalyst is getting better and better.

4k series is EOL'd which means no more updates for them.

and the person that changed his post to the 5xxxx series. the 5k series is EOL and won't receive anymore updates. the MLAA was the final major update for the 5k series. this is pretty much how ATI/AMD works. they don't have the man power to keep updating old cards.

When's the last time you saw an update for the GTX 2xx series? There are no performance gains left to be had in 3 year old silicon.

But there can be fixes for new game titles if needed or bugs.

that is not entirely true.
i've had one sapphire 4870 1GB prior my sapphire 6970 and there were 3-5 fps gain in games
between 9.xx series drivers and 10.xx.

These drivers caused some odd behavior with Rift. It would randomly just "freeze" for a good 30 seconds, minimize, and come back. Had no problems on 11.2

Has anyone tried it on 6970? If the increase in FPS is same, then 6970 should touch or even cross GTX580 with these new drivers

These drivers worked wonderfully to fix an issue I had with Dragon Age 2 on my 5870. 11.2 had some massive lighting artifacts when running in very high. They also smoothed out dome dips I was having with the framerate.

I just got a 6950 and upon installing it with 11.2 my Windows Media Player (Win7 64-bit) now shows very poor picture (pasty skin tone, no wrinkle lines, blurred facial hair) but in VLC video looks perfect. Has anyone else experienced this? Should i try 11.4 instead?

I installed 11.4 last night with my new XFX 6950 2GB, no issues to report so far. Desktop looks good, no upper-right corner mouse lag (that I noticed), no GPU stack at 99%.... Played a little bit of MW2 and Mafia 2 without any issues...

Looks like the video settings in CCC got messed with when you installed the new drivers. Tweak with the options underneath "Advanced Video Color" and "Advanced Quality" and you should be able to get playback to where you like it. VLC works in it's own little sandbox so those driver settings won't mess with playback unlike WMP.

Yes, but it's now been 2 years since the 9.xx series of drivers.

Aside from bug fixes I wouldn't expect much at this point. Especially since the 69xx series uses a different shader arrangement.

I tested the 11.4 drivers with a Radeon 6970. the post processing issue in Bulletstorm is NOT fixed. The screen is still split down the center when PP is set to High. Setting it to Medium fixes the issue for me. I didnt really notice any type of improvement in game tests. Mafia 2 actually lost 2.5 fps using in game benchmark test. Not sure what to make of it yet.

I can't seem to get to the bezel adjustment with these drivers. (I did a complete uninstall of the previous drivers and ran driversweeper before installing 11.4 preview.)
So I'm stuck with running at 3240x1920.

It also automatically tried to configure my eyefinity setup and came up with a 3x2 setup for my 1x3 + 1 extended monitor (one of the 1080p monitors is connected through the HDMI on the primary card and displayport on the secondary, disabled for crossfire card... that may have confused CCC.) It took me a while to convince CCC that I really wanted a 3x1 1080p setup with my 1920x1200 monitor as the extended one.

Anybody else have this problem?

How are you testing for the upper-right corner lag bug?

I'm going to try these tonight when I get home, but after 4 straight failed driver releases (30 days between each one) I wont hold my breath lol -_-

Can't play any Source Engine games or Dragon Age in full screen due to mouse issues (mouse is completely invisible). It's rather irritating having these issues on and off for the past year and a half.

It's been noted as a Known issue but whenever they fix it, it just seems to get regressed back in.

Mouse shows up fine on my secondary monitor (via DVI), but not on the primary Display Port monitor.

I downloaded it last night. Benchmarked several games. Performance seems about the same, maybe slightly improved? Resident Evil 4 performed about same, Aliens vs Predator went from 61 to 62 fps at 2560x1440, and the Stone Giant demo had slightly faster fps. No complaints here.

installed on my 6950's flashed to 6970s @ 900/1400 and seen a 400pt improvement in 3dmark11, 500pt in heavens, 500pt in 3dmark vantage, BFBC2 is roughly ~10% faster

Installed these drivers last night to see if I could resolve the issue in Dragon Age 2 where I would randomly crash and it seemed to work fine while playing the game for several hours. Today the Display Driver stopped working while browsing simple websites and eventually lead to several black screens or vertical bar crashes. Reverted back to 10.9 for now as I'd rather have a stable system and have DA2 crash occasionally than the other way around.

Using a Sapphire 5970 VaporX with Windows 7 64bit Professional.

Is anyone else having problems playing video with a secondary monitor enabled?

If I try to play any video in either VLC or WMP with a secondary monitor enabled, the video plays very slow and even the desktop becomes very slow to respond. If I disable the secondary monitor videos play just fine.

I'm seeing a 3-4% increase in 3DMark11 and 8% in Unigine.

Unigine
11.2: 1201
11.4: 1298

GPU at stock 800/1250 with PowerTune @ 0 and CPU at 3.60GHz.

Im shocked to say, but these actually fixed my 5870 negative crossfire scaling issues in dragon age 2. Didnt know it was possible without a profile update. Went from hovering around 30-40fps to a constant 60fps.

Negative scaling? If your frame rate has only doubled from negative scaling then you'd just be getting zero scaling :s
