Cases with black interior

Coolermaster has some cheaper ones... and Thermaltake too...

None will be the quality of the Corsair, Silverstone or LianLi's though...

Oh please. Those are nice cases, don't get me wrong. But IMHO, there overrated and over priced. Lian Li's at least have come down in pricing, Silverstone has always been way to proud of them selves. I would never own one. And Corsair, your just buying the name. I would put a decent Cooler Master or Antec against these cases any day.

Cans of black spray paint are fairly cheap.

Edit: Ouch !!! sniperbob with the head shot. faster on the trigger

Any particular kind of spray paint recommended? Something quick-drying and somewhat resilient?

Hahaha... if you say so...

If you're content with a cheap cooler-master or antec then so be it, thousands of people are... but for the people that want the best they won't cut it.

^^ The best? Cmon it's rolled steel/aluminum and plastic. Were not talking Chevy vs Ferri here. It's a PC case. A $250 case adds nothing to the performance of the hardware over a $100 case. If you believe that, then Silverstone has found there target consumer. They gotta giggle every time they sell one of those things.

It isn't all about just materials, it's about the style of the case, the layout, features, and over all quality. Antec makes good cases, but I hate the layouts, at least of the ones I have had, most recently the 900. Lian Li, and Silverstones layouts are well thought out, and that can make a build a pleasure, or a pain.

Yea, I buy a case for the performance it adds...

Maybe you're pissed you can't afford one? Hah. Poor. Literally...

Performance? Oh dear... we might as well forget buying an Antec or Cooler Master.

A $20 Rosewill case with the side panels off will give you all the "performance" you need.

I have spent, anywhere from 60 to well over $300 for cases. They all end up at the landfill eventually. I just wised up, and got tired of wasting money on expensive cases that added no additional benefit over cheaper ones. None. Hell I had no hesitation in cutting a window into a $260 brushed aluminum case. Was even dumb enough to buy a custom Lian Li case with a lazer cut dragon on the side.
As far as being poor? I just built a house and have 2 car payments. So I have a lot more important things to spend my money on then expensive chassis.

Maybe when you are all growed up and move out of the parents house, you might understand that.

Says the guy with a "Boss" sound system and CM "Scout" case...

Whatever, it's personal preference... maybe once you've grown up you'll learn that.

Antec Mini P180, and I think a fullsize P180 variant has black interior as well.

Any good quality brand name. I like the krylon outdoor stuff for patio furniture. I let the case sit in full sunlight on a hot day, all day, after painting to fully cure the paint to maximum hardness to help prevent scratches. So quick drying is not really a necessity. Rush jobs end up looking like rush jobs.

If not used to painting stuff, look for a guide on the internet and buy a spare can to practice first. Several light coats are better than one heavy and less chance of runs.

Black comes in flat, matte, and glossy. All good depending on the effect you are going for. Matte is likely the best all round but it just depends on the effect you are going for.

With a new case painting the interior is a snap, some masking tape, newspaper to mask off/protect areas you do not want painted. Put wiring in a plastic bag or better yet take of the front panel completely.

You will unless super careful cause some scratches when assembling the rest of the machine. Touch up with small brush and some of the same paint sprayed into a paper cup etc.

Appliance epoxy works VERY well for case painting, and it's a bit more hardy than regular Krylon.

I still don't get why people will ask questions about case selections. Isn't this a personal preference thing? It's like asking people what clothes to wear for the day, can't you make your own decision?

Maybe because not everyone knows about every case on the market, and asking about them can lead to new discoveries. I agree though that the decision on the final selection is something that only the individual can make.

The appearance of a case is but a single factor when choosing a case. Is it laid out well? Does it have good airflow? How about its build quality? Is it tool-less? Does its tool-less system work? Etc, etc, etc... There is far more to a case than mere looks ;)

I understand, but the answers can be obvious from the pictures and the specifications. He can also look for the reviews

and what do you consider the best???

simply put there is no best case on the market. every single one has its flaws. and yes for the few bonuses you get in the new corsair case it does defintely have its design flaws. for one airflow is no better than a coolermaster haf, and to take advantage of the case u have to use watercooling. even at that IMO its not that great of a box to look at. and certainly the last 5 nails in its coffin is its pricetag. just because it costs 2-3 times as much doesnt mean you get 2-3 times the product.

Yeah, but that applies just as much to motherboards, hard drives, cpu coolers, etc... The problem is that there is just so damn many of them it would take forever to read reviews of them all. Fortunately, the collective here has already done that, hence questions about looking for a case. Reviews are nice and all, but so is personal experience, which can again be provided here. :)

I myself am looking for a case, and have been watching the suggestions of other people here. Because of that, I found very nice cases that I didn't even know existed.

LOLZ!

I was looking at the Coolermast Scout as my next off the shelf case, but some reviews were not so wonderful. Anybody actually got one?

I just ordered a Panzerbox. Waiting for it to come in to see the fit/finish. It is all aluminum. and ALL BLACK!

Just chekd out the Panzerbox....mixed feelings. Looks great, looks like piles of room, but the PSU mounting location...hmm, not so much. Gonna cover up the video cards and leave no ability to make a purty side window! LOL.
