6 fans

Kind of noisy, trying to see if the new fan controller would kill down the noise a little on the 120 mm fans and maybe the CPU fan.

Two 120mm in
Two 120mm out
One 120mm on CPU
One 120mm in PSU
=
6

All heavily undervolted, whipser-quiet. :)

Workstation
  • 4x 80mm casefan
  • 2x 80mm psu fan
  • 1x 80mm cpu fan
  • 1x 60mm gpu fan
= 8 fans, all running @ 5V, quiet. :)

Fileserver
  • 5x 120mm casefan
  • 3x 92mm casefan
  • 2x 80mm casefan
  • 1x 120mm psu fan
  • 1x 80mm cpu fan
  • 2x 40mm casefan
= 14 fans, all running @ 12V, this thing is extremely loud.

Personal server
  • 1x 80mm psu fan
  • 1x 80mm cpu fan
  • 1x 60mm casefan
= 3 fans, almost noiseless, as it's on 24/7.

intake: 120mm
side(intake): 120mm
exhaust: 120mm
blowhole: 120mm
HSF: 120mm on Ninja
PS: Silverstone 600w strider - 120mm fan

all fans are s-flex (sff21f) fans, intake is delta 3-blade (EFB1212SHE) on vantec fan controller.

1 80mm PSU exhaust fan
1 80mm Tornado CPU fan
2 80mm front intake fans
1 120mm front intake fan (Scythe Kama bay)
4 80mm rear exhaust fans
1 stock 7800GT GPU fan
1 generic slot blower above video card
1 generic 40mm nForce 4 chipset fan
1 generic 70mm fan on bottom of case for extra circulation (Had this spare fan lying around, didn't want to see it go to waste, so I glued it to the bottom of my case. Helped GPU temps a degree or two.

13 total. All run at full voltage.

I actually used to have more before I bought my LL PC71. Is it loud? You bet. And I like it that way.

"only" 8
intake 2
exhaust 3
side 2
hsf 1 how about the gpu???? that would be 9 then i guess????

Antec P180...

1x120mm rear exhaust
1x120mm front intake
1x120mm bottom chamber

in addition to

1x120mm on CPU heatsink
1x60mm on video card
1x40mm on motherboard

I have 6, and that's including my GPU, PSU, and CPU. All are voltmodded down to make them quieter.

I once had a pc that needed only one fan, but all it could do was email!

Down to 3 right now:
1x120mm exhaust: Fortron ax-500 stock psu fan, not too loud or grinding-sounding
1x70mm: stock A64 fan @ 7v through Speedfan, but still run through Cool & Quiet, so it revs up a little during games
1x40mm: Funny story: my BFG 6800nu hsf comes with 2x40mm fans, but I broke one, so now the remaining one has to work harder (and louder) to keep the card reasonably cool (on hot days, it gets up to 80*C under load and the heatpipe is incredibly hot)

Overall, this is reasonably quiet, but the case is sitting on a desk literally 2 feet from me, so it's a little annoying when I don't have music playing. It'll be nice once I get my loop setup: passive radiator = only psu fan for exhaust :D

Used to have 11 on my old rig, with a SmartFan II at full RPM.

This is a breakdown of what I got running now:
3x GreenLED turbocool 80mm fans
3x turbocool 80mm fans
1x 92 panflow fan
2x generic ocz greenled 80mm fans in my PSU

for a total of 9 fans

nice and quiet in my opinion.

1 CM Hyper6+ 100mm
3 Yate Loon D12SL-12 (1 for hdd's, 1 for front intake, 1 for rear exhaust)
140mm psu
whatever is on the NV5 rev2.

Merged the 2 threads asking the same question. If you're keeping track, you're probably thorougly confused at this point :D

UPDATE:

Yes, I've already posted and voted, but after checking it out, removing my top 120mm fan does nothing except reduce noise :D So, I'm down to 5.

This thread is making me want to get a ninja and run it passive just so I can get down to four, hahah.

7 fans here and my system still runs whisper quiet.

3 120mm & 1 80mm case fans, two taking in, two blowing out.
1 120mm PSU fan.
1 Zalman CPU Cooler.
1 Zalman VGA Cooler.

The quieter the better! Just get some decent fans (Yate Loom or their modded friends, Nexus) and then dial them down. As long as you're not hardcard OCing, they will almost certainly provide you with adequate cooling.

1x 120mm Out
1x 120mm In
1x 120mm Psu
1x 90mm Cpu Cooler
1x Gfx Card
1x Mobo

6 FANS TOTAL for now at least.

2x80mm intake fans on the front
1x80mm outtake fan on the back
1x120mm outtake psu
1x92mm top blowhole

All in an old-school Lian Li PC-60 case.

Of course dude. I've got Arctic Cooling fans all attached to a Zalman fan controller. They run ~800rpm at lowest setting and 1500rpm at max. It's the best of both worlds.

Except now I have to figure out what to do with the gaping empty radgrill at the top of my case. Suggestions?
