I just built a Budget folding box. It has no hard drive and I am running overclockix ( live linux cd) as my OS . I plugged in the cd-rom drive into the master slot on the mobo. ( asrock K7VT4A+ ) ,set the jummper on the cd drive to master, configured the BIOS to boot from cd only, saved the settings then rebooted.
I recognized the CDROM drive as the master drive . So I put in the CD and rebooted. The OS didnt load. the error message was something to the effect of " looking for boot record on cd----------- error no boot record found , insert media into the proper boot device and reboot."
I tryed different CDrom/CD-R drives, I even tryed other live Linux CDs even ones off the shelf that i didnt burn ( suse .etc). No luck./ The CD drives and Cds work in other boxes with even older hardware... any ideas guys?
Thanks
