Looking to build a budget gaming pc. Going for best bang for the buck. What do you guys think?

1 BIOSTAR TFORCE 550 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP ATX AMD Motherboard -

1 COOLER MASTER Centurion 532 RC-532-SKN1 Black Aluminum bezel, SECC chassis

1 OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

1 SAMSUNG SpinPoint P Series SP1644N 160GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA133 Hard Drive

1 Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card -

1 SAPPHIRE 100199L Radeon X1950GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Brisbane 1.9GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADO3600IAA5DL - OEM

You can do way better for 800-1000. I'd suggest a low-budget Core 2 Duo system.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 - $183 (Being released April 22nd)
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express - $123
G.SKILL F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ 2 x 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 800 RAM - $130
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s - $58
Enhance ENP-5150GH 500W PSU - $70
Nvidia 8600GTS 256MB PCI-E Video Card - $200 (Guestimated price. Being released on April 17th)

Total: $764 Plus tax and shipping

For $800, thats a pretty damn good bang for your buck PC. I didn't add a case because I believe that a case is a personal choice. If you wait till April 17th, you can grab that DX10 video card I mentioned above. VR-Zone says that the 8600GTS is just a little bit faster than the 7900GT:

As for pricing , here's the link were I got my info:

unless you have plans to upgrade to a barcelona or agena chip, on that budget you are much better off with a low end C2D build.

If your budget is $500, then go with that AMD build. If your budget is $800+, go with Danny's build. If you'd like to save money on the PSU, go for the XClio Stablepower (also an enhance made unit) 460W for $50 at the egg.
