Good afternoon, this is your high priest Scorpionjwp, We are going to try to bring our Relic back from a spirit to physically posting here again.

I cannot say this might or might not work, but I might as well try my magic to bring back the dormant Relic.

The questions of where he has gone has flooded the forum a long while back. Where has he gone? Why did he leave but his boxen is still going? Is he truely gone?

These are the questions that have been asked and have gone unanswered. As we now ponder deep to answer these questions, one may think Relic himself could answer these questions for us. But we have had no answer since 12-4-2004, the time he went offline here at the forum.

I might not be like that person who see's the dead and talk to them, last name of Edward. But I will try to search spirtually for him and make contact.

As I ready myself for the Ritual, with a crystal ball on the table in front of me, with candles burning in the background, I start seeing the crystal ball clouded up.

Please everyone who wants to see relic, join in this thread, we will join together to bring him back.

I will type more as you join with me. I get more people, then this might become reality.

/me takes a seat at the table, joins hands and chants "aaaaaahuummmmm", "aaaaaahuummmmm"

:p

Ciao for now ......

"Incense stix", huh? Is that what the kids are calling them things these days? ;)

I think I joined up with all you nuts the day after Relic left for his -vacation-.

I poked around for some posts of his and learned due to somethings in real life, he was taking a break for a while. I got the impression he had done this before which is cool.

We all need to deal with real world stuff first and formost (not KodiakStar but he lost his mind before coming here I think), but ya I'd like to see him in action as I get the impression he was one heck of a [H]ard folder.

If memory serves me correctly? Long nights of alcohol consumption (Canadian Hunter current beverage of choice), brings the accuracy of said memory, into question. If you knew his real name, which I don't. You can use you're local (Cin. OH) telephone book, get the number and call him. It would be much better to see a post from relic, to the effect that "Rumors of my demise, were greatly exagerated".

Will stop dating girls for one week if he gets back...

well.

maybe a day.

You should try like... a month? six? It might get you a well-needed re-adjustment.

/me searches for some mojo.

I definitely miss the mojo stories. My favorite one was the story in which he discovered its magical overclocking powers after spilling a large quantity of it into an open computer. I still cannot figure out why he was building it in his kitchen. I'll have to search for that one sometime. Anyways, it would be really cool if he came back to the forum.

*stops masturbating*
*holds hands to sky while listening to a pantera, crying "ooooh wise relic! why hast thou forsaken me?"*

hummmmmmmmmmm.......................
hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............................

As we join together to bring our fellow [H]orde Member back to the forum, we chant.
Huuuuuuuummmmmmm! Ahhhhumm!

Silence fills the room, the candles flicker and What is this, A moose in my crystal ball.

I stand up and grab the crystal ball and shake it a bit, hoping to dispell the image of Atomicmoose. Putting the ball back on the table and beginning again to bring back relic.
Hoping Billr will join us soon and a few other noobies to the [H]orde also.

Huuuuuuuummmmmmm! Ahhhhumm!

Oh wise awesome Relic, please send us a sign.

This is not working. We need more arcane power. Bring out a sacrificial boxen.

volunteers up working Celery 2 600... on a iffie 815E Asus CUSL2... (NB problems)

The [H]orde needs You!

Personally, I am wondering if Relic IS DR_K13 or another person on the forums; just in hiding!!!!!

Relic, we hope you come back....

that'd explain why DR_K13 got made a mod so fast... hmm...

we have to get his CPU count to 100 in order to bring him back! that's the secret! (don't tell anyone other than those who could help that noble cause)

Steve has been known to go off before. He'll be back.

Shoot, he could be just taking a long break from this place. He was sooooooo involved.

Even if steve's farm is down at home, he has alot of borged boxen in different levels at different places. He will still have production.

I have confidence... he'll be back. Hang in there folks.

I would hate to think that relic succumbed to all that estrogen floating around in that house. He’s a strong man, he can and will overcome……… ;)

If you really want to bring him back you need to use Mojo! Thats the only ingredient I can see that is missing. You must first douse the sacrifical boxen in Mojo, do a little slip/slide dance, then offer them up!:p

Don't forget to drink a good bit of it first.

So did you use " Linux from Scratch" ?

I am thinking about building my own, not a server but a Cracked out Folding distro.

I used DSL with some fairly heavy modifications. It's bascially an hd-install with some other stuff thrown in. I have done an LFS, but it's a pain in the butt to get going. I'd suggest you just skip it unless you're masochistic. ;)
Recompiling everything doesn't gain you much speed (I'm writing from a gentoo stage1) and takes a few days. If you want to, though, install something easy (I used fedora) to one partition. Then do all your compiling with xmms going. Much more relaxing that way :D

I love DSL. I was thinking for making a distro with nothing non-folding critical running. Something where once it starts folding , it automaticly switches to ' init 3 '

I find that init 3 gives you 10-20% faster folding times when you turn x off.

I bet I can make one smaller than DSL, by a lot. DSL is 50mb by itself, I have a client booting over the network that's about 4mb. Maybe my goal should be a floppy or two ;)

We need a knoppix alterative to overclockix. Like one that boots up folding for *cough*apHytHiaTe*cough* team 33. If I knew WTF I was doing in linux, i'd set one up.... but i don't.
