Gsync originally had the same (forced) behavior as the current gsync + vsync combo.

This is where save editing saves you from crappy developer decisions. It's one of the best reasons to play on pc.I've had a good time with all the Borderlands games, but I'd say 2 is my favorite of the bunch. It felt the most polished out of the gate. With 3, they kept introducing powerful new weapons only to nerf them into the ground each time. By the end of the DLCs they wanted to get away from that, so the new drops just sucked.
Armored Core 6 is pretty cool.BL3 sold over 18 million copies as of 2023. I think they'll keep making them as long as they keep selling. To be the first game was original, had a nice theme/setting. BL2 had a slightly better story, but got a bit bloated. BL3 played the best, but the story and whatnot were not as good as BL2. At this point it is getting to be more of the same. Counting The Pre-Sequel and Tina's Wonderlands, there have been 5 BL games. Hard to make a 6th game really standout.
I think some monitors fixed (or mitigated) it, not all. I just don't use G-Sync and use a FPS cap. I haven't noticed any tearing, so it works fine for me. (Alienware AW2725DF)Now with 4K 240 on OLED can’t even use VRR unless you like a little bit of flickering and epilepsy. Can’t believe this crap isn’t fixed for OLEDs. If it is point me to a fix as I stopped looking since last year.
We have the same monitor, I use Gsync and even though it's not on Nvidia's certification list it does have AMD Freesync Premium pro, and it works great with Gsync compatible.I think some monitors fixed (or mitigated) it, not all. You don’t have flickering in dark backgrounds or dark scenes? We have the same monitor, I use Gsync and even though it's not on Nvidia's certification list it does have AMD Freesync Premium pro, and it works great with Gsync compatible.
Nothing that I have noticed on this monitor or the last couple I've had, I even asked my friend who has a similar monitor as me and he uses Gsync the same way as me and everything is fine. Unless there is something wrong you shouldn't be seeing tearing or flickering. I also use a quality DP cable by the company Cable Matters, having a good DP cable can make a big difference. I attached two pictures of what I use for settings as well, maybe it's something you already do or maybe it'll help. You don’t have flickering in dark backgrounds or dark scenes?
Ok I will update the firmware and retry as I have a MSI 321URX which goes ape shit as soon as I turn on VRR. Best way to confirm VRR flicker is black background menus (like COD BO6, Cronos New Dawn etc.) or dark scenes (like Dead Space or Cronos New Dawn or any silent hill or resident evil games with dark areas).Nothing that I have noticed on this monitor or the last couple I've had, I even asked my friend who has a similar monitor as me and he uses Gsync the same way as me and everything is fine. Your MSI MPG 321URX QD gets a better score than mine with VRR flickering, although flickering shouldn't be a problem if you're maintaining a consistent frame rate. VRR flickering is a common trait with all OLED monitors, some are better some are worse.Ok I will update the firmware and retry as I have a MSI 321URX which goes ape shit as soon as I turn on VRR. It is a rare occurrence during gameplay. Mostly it's in menus but it is annoying enough for me to turn it off and not turn it back on. COD MP search for new match is a black background so for like 1-2 mins between matches you have a nightmare flicker zone if you have VRR on.Your MSI MPG 321URX QD gets a better score than mine with VRR flickering, although flickering shouldn't be a problem if you're maintaining a consistent frame rate. I don’t play the games you mentioned, I do play Stalker and BL4 and don’t notice any kind of flickering. I did look up on ChatGPT and found the game itself can cause flickering due to compatibility issues with VRR.It is a rare occurrence during gameplay. Do you use overlays?STALKER 2 definitely had flickering but I haven't touched it in quite some time now.
Nope, no overlays but I can recheck. I do use MSI AB (but not always).Do you use overlays?
FYI Stalker just got a major patch today 1.6
Lies. Blur Busters has an article as to why you should always use VSync with GSync. VSync ensures the scanout rate of the display is adhered to, otherwise you can still get tearing as pointed out earlier. If you are using Gsync/Gsync compatible and not exceeding your monitors refresh rate there should be no need to enable Vsync, you can always cap your frames such as I do playing a game like HL2. That's how I've been doing things since 2020 and my first Gsync compatible Dell monitor, I've never had issues with tearing or anything else. Currently I have a 360 refresh rate on my Alienware monitor so I don't worry about anything.
Call it what you want I really don't care what you think, what I'm saying is my own personal experience so really not lies at all. I have never had a problem with tearing on any of my Gsync monitors with any game, even older games such as HL2, Doom or MOHAA, and that is with Gsync set to "use 3D application setting". Sometimes I cap my frame sometimes I don't, it depends, older games I will cap the frames. As far as Blur Busters, I never heard of them.Lies. You haven't been using the feature properly for years. The recommended is gsync+vsync ON in CP/OFF in game and if possible fps cap 2-3 below refresh rate. As others have mentioned other settings will limit your FPS now anyway like the low latency setting.Call it what you want I really don't care what you think, what I'm saying is my own personal experience so really not lies at all. Turning Vsync on is a safety net if you exceed your monitors refresh rate, typically if you cap your frames or don't exceed your monitors refresh rate you shouldn't notice any tearing. Turing Vsync on or off in the control panel doesn't affect anything, it remains dormant unless you break that ceiling, so if anyone feels they need to turn it on it's a matter of a users situation and preference, but really this thread is about BL4, not VRR and Vsync. You haven't been using the feature properly for years. I've gotten some pretty good gear, I have mostly purples and some legendry's, I'm sure you would get even better stuff playing on hard but I'm already getting my ass kicked on normal.People have suggested playing on hard for better chances at better gear. I have been doing that and there might be something to it. Worth considering.
I Saw a YouTube video where the guy said gearbox told him in a message that it's not better gear chance, it's better rolls on the gear chance. Its also not much of an increase so farming on easy and killing bosses 2-3x faster is a better way of farming currently.People have suggested playing on hard for better chances at better gear. It doesn't matter, you're objectively wrong. You're more likely to see tearing in a game like this without VSync on due to the frame drops.Call it what you want I really don't care what you think, what I'm saying is my own personal experience so really not lies at all. I've been playing on Hard and didn't get a Legendary drop until I finished the quest that takes you to the base with Rush for the first time. I think some drops are simply gated.People have suggested playing on hard for better chances at better gear. I have been doing that and there might be something to it. Worth considering.

No, not in the main games I currently have on, Stalker 2, BF2042 and BL4 they all had no tearing anywhere.....I even tried HL2 with no frame cap and it looked fine with no tearing, plus the original Doom with no cap and it didn't exceed my monitors refresh rate of 360. This has been the case since I've owned Gsync compatible monitors since 2020, I never had issues with tearing, flickering or anything else. But maybe the situation is different per user and Vsync may be needed in that case, I just have no reason to turn it on.Do you not seen screen tearing on the bottom of the screen?
you can either follow the bad insane man on X or theres a subreddit that posts them /borderlandsshiftcodesYou guys are amazing posting these gold keys. It changes the game.
