Borderlands 3

Watching the videos is starting to get my Borderlands juices flowing again. I thought that part of me was dead and dried up after the suckage of TPS.

No airless moons.......................

And/or jumping hitting the ground and breaking the face-shields.

Stupid shit.

I really liked TPS. BL2 was hard for me to play through, but the last 25% of the game was freaking great. I just hated the beginning sooooo much.

Oh the beginning where you die every 90 seconds? Yeah death is frequent in the lower levels until you toughen up for sure.

TPS just didn't feel like BL2 to me. Maybe it was the airless moons things and all the bunny hopping, I don't know... it did seem like all I was doing was going back and forth over the same areas over and over and over. And the stupid map would take me all the way across the world and then there was a cliff or some other unpassable barrier. Now, BL2 had some of this too (I forget the name of map area with all the acid pool lakes, but I remember being there a few times) but those were mostly just fetch quests I was trying to finish that I probably should have completed the first time around. OTOH recycle is all Destiny does and I still pick at that every now and then.

I thought I would enjoy playing as Claptrap (I switched to him because I got sick of the other character running out of oxygen constantly) but it got old. His random special action was too... random? I didn't finish, maybe 50%.

TPS just felt like a not so great DLC pack to me.

I went to look into the Commander Lilith / Sanctuary DLC but I missed the free window, it expired 7/8. Not paying $15 for that. Oh well.

The other characters are Meh compared to Fl4k. I suppose they were so far in development they couldn't add to them. What is going to happen they will add 4 more characters who will be more uber so the rest of the characters will pale in comparison to them to keep people playing. They should just add Max Moxxie she could be the love warrior drink booze to keep her power up and send big Hearts and kisses out to destroy whatever.

I would play Moxxie just to look at her more.

I’m with ya. Going back to play the new BL2 expansion I really missed the double jump and ground slam controls. I also feel like the ‘pets’ in TPS were way less annoying and more effective than BL2 options.

I do still feel BL2 is the superior game overall, thanks in part to Tina’s DLC (which was one of the most enjoyable expansions I’ve played in any game ever), but TPS was still a really fun game... despite the oxygen mechanics.

*apologies if this comes off as harsh.....*

I'm not into cosplay. While I can appreciate the effort some people put into it.... nothing screams I NEED ATTENTION like a lady cosplayer. I mean, what chick in their right mind wants to get all stuffed into a tight ass outfit and put on 5 gallons of makeup and go to <insert your convention here>? To get ogled by the trolliest of the trolls....

I have more respect for porn actresses. Those ladies WORK for a living.

Moze is a Gearbox's answer to Overwatch's DV-8 except she looks kinda grungy instead. FL4K you can have your pet revive you. Basically all Gearbox games in the past were penelty free when you character died kinda expect the same thing except for the bosses. Cheat Happens will have a trainer out the week after where you can max all the skills :) I'm not going to cheat in this game though but what happens you join a glitched game from someone else and good weapons drop and you pick them up basically that is cheating. Then again the game is on Epic so who know how far you can use mods in the game before it gets corrupted.

I've never really understood cheating in a game like this. It's not a difficult game, and cheats would seem to suck the fun right out of it.

I think its because most people don't realize it's going to ruin the game, especially if they're new to a loot shooter. It can sneak up on you.

In the early days of BL2, the first time a random joined our game, dumped 50 legendaries onto the ground and abruptly quit, we assumed it was someone being cool, but quickly you realize the person was trolling. One-shotting everything is boring.

A big part of the fun of these games is edging that line where a new area or enemy is a little too powerful, then you find that next piece of gear that closes the gap.

it would suck the fun out of any game...some people don't like any challenge at all and just want to roll through games...makes no sense...if a person sucks that bad then maybe they should try another game

Wonder if it has something to do with the size of BL3 or maybe just Gearbox and/or 2K simply not wanting to do it.

I wonder what will happen then when the game launches and everyone will download it at the same time, preloading should alleviate some of that stress, but hey what do I know.

Or it's just another example why EGS isn't a legitimate store, since it's still weirdly missing the most basic features despite his Fortbucks warchest.

Or Timmy is aware enough that he and his store are so reviled - and to an extent Pitchford for being perceived as selling out - that many would love to see a cracked preload released early, just to embarrass them. My money's on that.

Not every game is available for preload on every store. Ultimately, I think whether or not a game is able to be preloaded on a respective platform is up to the developer and/or publisher if the storefront has the ability to do so.

Agreed, though didn't really say they were. But in the context of EGS, there's a pattern of half-baked excuses and fuckups that are increasingly hard to ignore, for why basic functionality continues to be so elusive for them.

It's almost as if they're not even really trying, and Tim/Tencent are playing some whole other long game that has nothing to do with trying to be a legitimate store and cultivating a customer base, or bringing anything new or different or better to gamers.

Agreed.

Using EGS is like paying $25,000 for a vehicle that doesn't have cruise control, Bluetooth, or even air conditioning and power steering; these are things we apparently take for granted because we are accustomed to them being standard features at that price point. I'd unquestionably buy BL3 on or before launch if I didn't think I was paying too much for a product tied to a store that had none of the STANDARD features of the store that it will inevitably be available on in the future. If I was shopping for a sub-$17k vehicle, I wouldn't expect many of the standard features that a $25k vehicle offers, so why should I pay $60 for a game from a store that lacks many of the features we've come to expect as "standard" in a storefront?

I'm not against competition, I just want the most bang for my buck and I don't think that buying on EGS gives me the most value.

tl;dr: Why is BL3 $60 on EGS when it doesn't even have a Steam store page that I can use for forums and community content?

It will be interesting to see, but I doubt it have much effect considering Fortnite has big updates all the time without any problems. Epic uses AWS which basically has unlimited bandwidth. They aren't limited to their own infrastructure like Steam

I think they had about 100 extra artists working on this game just rendering it to no end.

PSA:

Take care of not "intentionally misgendering" Fl4k on the official forums by using he.
This is not a joke, the moderation team over there wants you to know that the proper pronoun is They. failure to do so will get your post scrubbed/hidden.

editting to add a screenshot of the post, it is a link, feel free to click and see that it is indeed the official stance.
