Bitcoin Discussion Thread Part 2

I do it quite frequently, actually.

You initiate an order with the e-mail address you want the money sent to (Amazon Payments account). Once you initiate the order, it tells you the exact amount of coins to send to a Bitcoin address. Send the coins and within a couple of hours, they send you the money. Quick and easy.

I went today its not working it showning $0.0 amazon payment link says 404
I think its just hickup ?

Hmm, don't see Amazon Payments as an option any more. Maybe they ran into issues with it.

Step 1.) Create Mt.Gox account
Step 2.) Send coins there
Step 3.) Sell them for Market Price $$
Step 4.) Create a Dwolla Account.
Step 5.) Send $$ from Mt.Gox to Dwolla account
Step 6.) Send $$ from Dwolla to your Checking Account
Step 7.) ?
Step 8.) Profit

Most of these steps will be skipped after first cycle. Never skip Step 7!

Or just convert them to Dwolla through spendbitcoins.com. Then you don't have to deal with making a Mt. Gox account.

Spendbitcoin uses market averages. So the going rate at the time you convert the bitcoins could be $5 and spendbitcoin will only give you ~$4.80. Just depends on how much the market has fluctuated over the past 24 hours. I've seen them a full $0.50 under market value before. That's when I moved back to mtgox.

So you can also do better than the current pricing, no? I have seen it slightly above, but usually only by a few cents.

I may have to drop out of mining. The power company is tacking a ton of ambiguous administrative and distribution fees onto my bill that cost more than the cost of the actual electricity :(

Ok, I finally do not have time to bitcoin mine anymore. Far too busy with work and house stuff. Have not had my btc rigs powered on in two months, so it is going for sale. I will make a thread later today.

4 x 5870
2 x 5850
8 x 5830
3 x Corsair 750w PSU
1 x CM 1000w PSU
2 x ASRock mobo + AMD Sempron 145 + 2gb ram
2 x Biostar mobo + AMD Sempron 145 + 2gb ram
4 x Spotswood cases(I never even got to use these :( )

I will post pics and more info in the fs thread. PM me with offers if anybody is interested.

Sorry, I shipped on Monday, I will get you the tracking number tonight, it is in my car(in class right now). Have been busy at work and I have been meaning to reply to your PM.

In concept, yes. It did that when the market moved from $17 to $15. But the last big crash we had he shut the site down until it steadied. Don't blame him though. He probably lost a bunch of money with that first crash. A few cents isn't much but dollars that probably will never come back, that's a big deal.

duh yeah 12.4 I mean...the new ones

wanted to make sure they diddn't break anything

I would like to know what kind of shenanigans broke the long running $5 stagnation. Pretty interesting reading about some of the known large players market manipulations on the bitcoin forums.

I sold my coins at 5.12, right at the beginning of this run. I have no luck with these sorts of things.

I'm holding onto mine as I figure difficulty will go up as more miners get FPGA's and the fact that the Block reward half is likely to further increase the price

You guys talkin about heat, why not just put the rigs in a room by a window and setup an exhaust using dryer ducting?

All you need is a high power fan on each end of the ducting and seal off all the remaining vents on the pc case except for the side intake, or use those high powered blowers. But those are loud.

Either way just don't overclock anything and it won't overheat and the ducting will be sufficient for heat removal.

Or just put everything in one small room and buy a window air conditioner. It will tack on some extra $$ a month, but nowhere near as bad as pumping up the central AC.

All this provided bitcoin makes money anymore, I don't know, I been out of the loop. Just sayin :D

3/4 of mine is cooled outside the main house. Only 1/4 is cooled by the AC.

I been mining and trading for silver at 10oz bar incriments.... and now silver is down so of course I'm in the hole. But free electricity just means i've been trading in my KWh for Oz.

folks...we have a winner

I would not worry about the current dip sir, the bernank can only print

Just found this thread... I dunno why so many people like deepbit. He has the highest fee in all of the pools. This guy makes soo much profit off everyone its crazy to think about it. Plus he does not count anyone's transactions but his own.. He's very scandalous! Slush is another pool I would never use.. Mined with slush when I first started for about a month, then realized he was stealing coins from his users... skimming right off the top! These pools have fee's, and in the end you really don't get as much btc as you would think.

Been mining on bitcoinpool.com for the last year+ now. Smaller pool, but fair people, secure website, not bad support etc.

Has anyone been following BFL asic chips? They claim they will have them out by the end of the year. If they deliver this is going to be endgame for gpu mining.

I'm thinking of picking up a bitforce SC single depending on the wait time. I may just pick up a jalapeno to play with if the market gets too unstable.

A coffee warmer? Hahaha!

40GH/z @ $1,299 would be insane. If they could actually produce a large quantity of these at a time, that would definitely kill the BTC price.

the only bad thing with those, if bitcoins sink my vid cards are still worth something on ebay. Those would become paper weights.

True but even 2 of the cheap ones for a total of $300 will net you 7ghash at super lower power usage. When i was running a 5+Ghash farm it cost me that in electricity alone.

Also the added power efficiency will allow you to run these and still turn a profit at a much lower price point. When the reward drops in 1/2 pretty soon here it will be GG for gpus unless Bitcoin value goes up.

Then their is the flood of gpus on the market to consider. Just how 5 series gpu prices practically doubled when bitcoins were hot Prices will drop like a rock when every one is trying to dump them.
