Works for me. 1920x1200 and I get no cropping. Everything runs ok even with 8XQ MSAA and 16XAF with all high settings on XP. 8800GTX @ 615/1900
please stop saying that because its not true. it doesnt "work for you"Works for me. 1920x1200 and I get no cropping. Everything runs ok even with 8XQ MSAA and 16XAF with all high settings on XP. 8800GTX @ 615/1900
its cropped dude just look at the thread link. you are losing viewable area top to bottom while retaining the same width as non widescreen. didnt they test the game on a feakin widescreen monitor before releasing it???lol chill out. I'm just saying that I get full screen even though it is a bit distorted. Not entirely happy but truthfully I am so desperate for ANYTHING new that doesn't suck on PC I am reasonably happy with the game as is.
Why is it necessarily the widescreen mode that's wrong? You could just as easily argue that the widescreen mode is correct and the 4:3 mode has the wrong field of view.
What is the "correct" fov? Surely that's up to the designers
So? Yes I read that, and it doesn't answer the question, it just suggests the lead dev isn't sure how the widescreen mode on his own game works, or that the mode has changed since that quote.
If you have two monitors which are the same physical width but one's 16:9 and the other's 4:3, should you have a wider horizontal fov on the widescreen monitor?
What is the "correct" fov? Surely that's up to the designers, and I doubt they're all using 4:3 monitors. If what we're seeing is wrong, I expect they'll fix it. If not, some people need to get over the preconceived idea that widescreen = wider horizontal fov.

You raise a good point. If 16:10 monitors were considered the norm and 4:3 monitors were called "tallscreens" then this particular FOV choice would seem perfectly natural. So? "Database error".....they must be trying to imitate HardforumThere's a "fix" detailed here.
Elizabeth's "I'm looking into its" are typically worth less than nothing.
