I just nearly finished this game like some days ago so I'm bit late I know.

So anyone remember if this game was psychedelic for them and is the reviewer state that?

In my opinion it wasn't as good as the first one. BS1 was amazing, not necessarily for it's game play, but for the story and location. It just worked for me. The second wasn't nearly as good. Infinite had possibility, but i felt that they wasted it with even worse game play.

The only saving grace for infinite was the girl. I think that was the best computer controlled assistant/story driver i have ever seen. Would like to see that kind of attention to detail on a better game, to be honest.

Still, all in all, a better love story than twilight... :D

I agree that the girl was a highlight to the game. Surprised me cause usually a tag-a-long character is a pain in the balls. She wasnt and was always throwing you bullets and stuff which is always cool in my book.

I thought the game was very good. Its one of the few that I managed to play all the way thru to the finish without venturing off to play something else halfway thru. The story was good, the combat was excellent and the ambience and atmosphere were very good although not as good as Bioshock 1.

I think its easily worth $25 and maybe even $30.

Love story? From Bioshock Infinite? Are you sure you played the game?

bioshock infinite for me was more like bioshock arena

It was one arena after another... wasnt able to finish it :/

I thought it was boring. There was no love story, though... at least I hope you didn't think there was. Gross.

Guess you guys shouldn't check out the subReddit on "Bioshock Porn" then... :p

Back in the day I played maybe 1 hr of Bioshock, then put it down and left it on the backlog.
Once Infinite came out, I really wanted to play Infinite bad, but I didn't want to just jump straight over the previous 2 - so I played them in order.

I liked 1 and 2 a lot, but I liked 3 the best. Blasphemy, I know.
For me it's Infinite > 1 > 2. But 2 was pretty good IMHO based off playing from the POV, even though it seems like it was panned (sadly).

Everything about Infinite I like more than 1. Location, story, weapons & Vigors/Plasmids. Elizabeth was the icing on the cake because she's arguably the best AI controlled character ever created. Just started playing through Burial at Sea part 1 a few days ago (after a break).

If I have 1 bad thing to say about Infinite, it's that the DLC completely bypassed covering something that I think they should have - the Songbird. I think they missed a golden opportunity to give some history and back story and 'fill in the blanks'.

I can honestly say I was not that impressed with the original Bioshock. Maybe it's because I played it WAY after release, and the expectation level was pretty high based on user reviews, but the story seemed to be fairly predictable and the ending wasn't even that good.

I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite a lot more. I only got an hour or so into Bioshock 2 before quitting...felt like more of the first game but not as good.

Didn't finish Infinite. I probably will at some point, but the setting didn't grab me at all. The first one was great. I really like the whole art-deco thing. It adds a lot of flavor to it. I'm truly not a fan of the whole turn of the century period that Infinite went with. I find nothing really exciting about the equivalent period in our history either. I've said it before, but I also prefer a dystopian setting or flat-out wrecked post apocalyptic setting to the warm happy place of Infinite. I felt like the mechanics of the first BioShock were a touch closer to their System Shock roots, (though still couldn't even touch those games.) That brings up another point... System Shock. Even Rapture seemed a very happy lively place in comparison to Citadel Station or the Von Braun. If you're looking for a bleak setting to play an in-depth emergent game, System Shock (and 2) are it. You may not favor the dated look of either of them (though there are some mods should you really need them,) but they are undeniably better than the BS games. For System Shock look up System Shock Portable. It's a single package that includes DOSBox to run the game, with mods preinstalled for higher resolutions, mouselook style controls (as the original set would likely bug some people) among other enhancements. Anyway...

I liked #1 because it was so different and refreshing. #2 felt uninspired and reminded me of a franchise where the devs outsource a sequel just to get another one on the shelves.
Infinite had a killer premise, but was the closest to a normal shooter of the 3. I loved the setting and plot, but the gameplay was stale. I still loved it, but I doubt I'll feel inspired to replay it any time soon. I played through #1 on 3 different occasions.

That's because, if memory serves, that's exactly what they did.

Agreed. Finished Infinite last year. Finished Bioshock 1 a few days ago.

Infinite had the better story. Though Bioshock 1 did feel a little less linear as there were more "gather this and that" missions. Overall I would say Bioshock had slightly better gun play, although it was nothing spectacular. Infinite had the better story.

Though as I played Infinite and its DLC I sort of did spoil the story in Bioshock 1 but not by much.

Ya bioshock 1 had much more satisfying gunplay/gameplay. And the story in infinite was better... well i wouldn't say it was better
Infinite just had better or more likable characters.

the whole ending made no sense and annoyed me to no end.

The ending made perfect sense....maybe not the first time you see it, but if you actually analyze the game and what happened, it does all make sense. I actually thought it was pretty darn good. It's one of those games where you see the ending, say "WTF?", and then go online and read about how all of these various parts of the game tie into the ending perfectly.

If you pay attention during the game, you can see it coming, at least some of it. I just found it a bit cliché and not quite satisfying. I did like some of the characters in the game, and the early 1900s setting was fairly decent. Some of the story was interesting, some not so much.I didn't much care for the city and the layout, though.

The whole grandfather paradox thing annoyed me as did the seeming multiverse which was apparently destroyed by some how defeating the grandfather paradox.

And if there whole multiverse theory is true in that universe it would have always been there and not just popped up after he made a random choice create. so killing him then would have accomplished nothing. not to mention they would have had to do in an infinite number of times.

Okay, but ANYTHING involving time travel is going to have the same issue. I think they did pretty well with it, considering.

Sort of but not exactly. 2K and some of the people within Irrational wanted to work on a sequel. Ken Levine did not and wanted to work on another project that would later become this game. So 2K took a few people from Irrational (at that time called 2K Boston) and created a brand new studio, 2K Marin, to create Bioshock 2. Marin was assisted by 2K Australia who would later go on to develop The Bureau. All three of these studios are now gone.

How can you say that when you haven't even played all the DLC? I'm basing this on your previous statement of just starting part 1 and the fact that you probably wouldn't be asking this question if you did.
