Battlefield 4 Beta Discussion

I agree for play-ability purposes not every building can be destructible, or they can't fall down all the way. I would like to see more than just one though. Maybe just the buildings that have elevators in them.

I didn't really mind Bad Company 2 for all buildings falling the same way. I was hoping that BF3/BF4 would build on that and have a couple different ways buildings can fall depending on which side gets shot out. Instead almost no building were destructible in BF3 and it seems very few will be for BF4.

I dunno, its a bit of an EZMODE mechanic to let people just shoot out four walls and get easy kills on the people inside. Like in BF3 that one building that would fall at the B point ("Checkpoint") -- wasn't particularly compelling or exciting after the first handful of times.

both sad and glad that RPG will be dumb fire in the final game... more realistic.

I won't lie though -- I had a blast popping tanks AND choppers with the same anti-armor weapon with the help of a recon guy.

Limit of any lock on device seemed to be 500 meters, guess that's about fair?

I also experienced the "bug" of a silent lock and then instantly dying from an RPG.

The last couple days of BF4 beta were torture in terms of attack helos running 60 kill games and being basically invincible while weaving between sky scrapers. It blows my mind that a primary tank shell can't kill an infantry soldier in one shot but a helo can clear a rooftop squad in a single pass. Attack Choppers nuked my tank in a single pass so many times it had me wondering why they even put tanks in BF4. Then I started gunning for a clan friend who is an uber chopper pilot and we ran a train on every single vehicle we could see. I love the game but the tanks need some love and the choppers need a nerf. If they are taking away RPG lock-on then engineer spam will be even worse. Everyone will be playing sniper or engi because it's the only way to deal with monster helos. Assault at least has a medic but I can't see any reason to play support.

Build your dream squad:

3 engis, 1 sniper, 1 medic.

I'd suggest waiting for the full game before making assumptions about overall vehicle balance based on a few lucky rounds against inept teams in a beta with an "uber pilot" on a map not representative of all maps (many of the other maps are wide open with little cover and the entire dynamic will change, especially once people get all their vehicle unlocks).

The attack heli is a force multiplier, yes. As such, there is only one per team. But it will also have fifty counters. The good news is if the enemy heli is dominating, you can get in your own team's attack heli or transport heli (the miniguns MELT the attack heli) and shut them down.

yeah, conquest mode was frustrating the last few days of beta. Was not such a big deal in other modes with the AA vehicle.

This is a pretty prime example of taking the beta's gameplay balance way too seriously.

If anyone finds a decent preorder deal, please post it here!
GreenMan's is pretty decent if you plan on getting premium at some point.

That is what I did.

1) Find a GMG referral link to get $2 GMG credits.
2) Buy BF4. Get the GMG credits $10 reward.
3) But BF4 Premium and use the $12 of GMG credits and use $6 cash back reward.

Total: $60 + ($50-$12-$6) = $92 for BF4 and Premium.

The cash back will take a few days to apply.
