If they showed the largest map available now, how that would leave room for the smaller maps to be introduced?
Start small and work up to larger, bigger stuff. I wouldn't show the largest map either because people would expect that from every map, which isn't the case.

I read from a beta tester that their will be no LAN support.
"There is regenerating health like Halo.
Here's the shocker.... no dedicated LAN support.

Not only that but if they were as fast as ~real life~ jets they'd be almost impossible to shoot down.

Of course some people don't understand this and would rather have untouchable jets than a balanced game.
 
Does the map look a bit small to anyone else, I know its 64 players, but its no Kubra Dam or Gulf of Oman?

People don't understand that if you made a game like this realistic it would be as unfair as real war... good luck taking down an F-18.
 
So are you really saying you want jets to be unfair and impossible to shoot down?

Is that an actual opinion that you have about this game?

Might wanna reread my post. I gave up BF2 for 2142 because Jets and Apaches ruined the entire game. Infantry had no way to take down jets or choppers and if you were "lucky" enough to be inside of a bradley or tank you were probably going to be TV missled or bombed.

Oh and before someone says "Well you could just get in a jet and take them down," well you couldn't. There were two jets per team on a team of 32 players meaning 30 people didn't have a jet.

Oh, sorry about that, genuinely reads like you were advocating hyper-realistic jets.

I was actually happy when I saw the jets were relatively slow, as it means infantry has a genuine fighting chance against them and only the good pilots would be able to survive a decent time in them.

This won't stop them from being camped to hell but hey what can you do.

I think the first few weeks everyone is going to want to try a jet out. I love everyone bitching about how slow and low they are flying, I guess they want to be a couple thousand feet in the air flying at 1300mph.
 
Slow jets? I guess I missed where any of us were able to tell what speed the player had it set at?

I hope it is a bit faster, but too much faster and you will cover the entire map way too fast, and make it not fun for the players on the ground to bother even playing.
 
When did people get charged for their Origin pre-orders? Had a payment pending the whole weekend but it disappeared... :confused:

I ordered it Friday evening around 7PM. It still shows up in my Origin client and everything. Either I got it for free or I'm getting an invalid key error on Day 1.

Friday @ 7PM, Saturday and Sunday are all going to be "processed" Monday night; it isn't that unusual for a soft posting to drop off for a day and then reappear on your statement.
 
Yeah that shouldnt be happening. I read the Origin FAQ a little while back and it specifically said it wont charge pre orders until the day of release. Weird.

So I went and looked at my account, and though it showed it before, now it has dropped off. I'm usually pretty good about that, now I need to keep an eye out for a $60 charge coming through in a few months then! :eek:

So I wonder what would happen if I beat my free game and then cancel my preorder...

Interesting... I got charged a few days after I ordered it. Whatevs, I'm ready for some BF3 action!

hmm maybe it cleared up a bit finally. i posted it a bit after i actually tried to download, and the main server was chugging then while i dropped full speed off the torrent.
