OK? So don't buy it. I have 135 games on Steam and I still don't give a shit. That's the difference between rational people and fanboys. Sacrificing everything for convenience.

You can buy the game through retail, D2D, GamersGate and Origin. Isn't that enough choice for you? Just because Steam isn't on that list then people are being robbed of their Freedoms? Boo hoo. Cry me a river.

I'm going to be buying the game for launch day, I'm just saying that people have preference for their digital distributors for specific reasons, it should be clear why someone like me would prefer to buy using steam. I think it's a perfectly valid reason to be disappointed when it's not sold through steam.

Being disappointed is not the same as making mountains out of molehills. And we have plenty people in this thread acting like this is the end of the world or EA killed their mothers.

Not buying the game because it's not on Steam, spouting childish and immature comments like "F@#k you EA" or whatever is more than "being disappointed". Fanboyism only hurts us, not the companies.

It's like people forget what a clusterfuck Steam was back in the day. Now Origin is (somewhat) in the same position and people still kick it down, more even than Steam. Short memories? Give it time to grow.


I'll come back here when the game is released. Apparently not even this forum is safe from the dark ages of Steam fanboyism.

The game isn't exclusive to Origin. Some people are still running with that even though it simply isn't true.

It's going to be on EVERY major digital download outlet EXCEPT Steam which simply tells me that Valve is partially to blame for that situation along with EA.

I sincerely hope they find a way to have an accord before it's all said and done. I understand people's preferences and in the case of the folks outside of the USA it goes past even that.

I like Steam. :) Love their feature set. But I'm not religiously obligated to them like some other people seem to be.


I still think it's laughably silly when I see people saying they won't buy this game simply because it isn't on Steam. Their loss. I think it's mostly talk anyways and they'll end up doing it before it's all said and done.


Don't worry about it. All the whining and bellyaching is going to go away in about a week or so after the game has been released. We'll all be swimming through the usual first week or so of EA/Dice server glitch issues that are a "tradition" with their games, but in between that noise will be screenshots, youtube videos, and a bunch of glowing feedback and people will simply find a way to buy this game one way or the other. It will be a religious violation apparently for some people to buy a game off of Steam but they'll get over it and they'll find a way to do it somehow. ;)

I guarantee it. :)

No, being a fanboy is choosing a platform or product irrelevant of some benefit, there is clearly a benefit here, convenience.

I don't support people making mountains out of molehills and some people might be doing that, I'm not really going to make a judgement there, but it's a problem nevertheless.
 
Fuck origin... i live in south america and it automatically puts me in Spain region
Meaning i get to pay in euros instead of dollars

so instead of paying 60 bucks i get to pay 80 or so at the current exchange where i live

It kind of helps when there is actual news. In this case the only news we're getting is digital delivery.
 
I hope it looks atleast a little bit less like Bad Company 2. Seems like they are re-using a lot of the same things from the game. Not saying its a bad thing, but they could have given it its own look and feel.
 
Looks exactly like bad company 2 i mean it could be a mod or something i sure hope the final game looks way different.
 
Hopefully you can adjust the ratio of the small map hud. Like in BF2 you can zoom in or out. Unless I missed it in BC2, its not there and I liked it.

Maybe im just looking through rose tinted glasses but, I think those shots make it look, even on the lowest settings, better than BC2.
 
I agree that it looks maybe a bit too similar to BC2, even that lovely gray chat box is back, oh, i love that, how could we ever survive without it.
I'll keep quiet until i see the final build, but God help them if they mess up the sound somehow. It would be great if they could improve a little on BC2 sound for even better battlefield experience. Get rid of that chat box DICE, how hard is to put one back in from previous BF games.

I hightly doubt that chat box will be there. Shit is super alpha... the tanks can swim and jump FFS. Also, it looks very close to BC2 on MINIMUM SETTINGS. Let the game get finished.
 
Finished or not, those screenshots scream BC2.

Regardless, I am still very excited for Battlefield: Bad Company 3 :cool:
 
Honestly those screenies look worse than BC2 to me. When I play BC2 maxed out with 8x aa and Dx 11 it looks alot better thaan that. For example those nasty looking textures? LOL nasty. I know low settings but still.

you cant complain how bad the textures look when its on Low,,, they are going to look bad in every game on Low.

Why shouldn't it? Why don't you compare both at low settings. That would be a true comparison.

That's like saying BF3 on low settings looks worse that Crysis at max settings.
 
I don't mind if BF3 visually looks the same as BFBC2. Why not? We just need huge maps, better vhehicle combat, prone and 64 players matches :)

Holy shit obviously. I wanted to comment on how they look on low settings that why. This is a more advanced itteration of the frostbite engine and as such I was a little suprised that it looked that bad even though it was on low. As a result of that thinking it prompted me to think of how it looks compared to when I play BC2. That is why.
 
Since there is a single player tank mission, I wonder what the chances are that there will be a Helicopter and a Jet plane mission.

Buddy of mine bought the MOH and registered it a few months back...He just got confirmation today that he has a reserved spot for the BF3 beta in September.
