Two friends of mine got an email today stating they are locked in for the Battlefield 3 Beta. Don't know where mine is but I am getting nervous about not having it yet.![]()
the leaked ugly pics were done by a CoD fanboy and is getting sued big time by DICE.
prolly will be taken down by EA soon..but heres some Alpha Vids.

Yep, all gone now.![]()
Jesus christ what is with all the whinging? Dolphin diving hurrrrr. Looks crap on low settings hurrrrr. Lighting sucks hurrrrrrrrrr.
do you like looking at washed out lighting and seeing all white?
Oh ..I see..its all about being the rambo on the team and getting all the kills..not taking in the awesome scenery or the cool effects of destroying the enviroment with all that new hardware you just purchased to play this game?
Please provide a direct quote where I even imply that.
And to me the scenery/destroying environment all looks fantastic, but people are choosing to ignore the positives and instead are whinging about the fucking sky of all things. It's this kind of bullshit that makes PC gamers look like the spoilt brats of the gaming community.
What you are mentioning isn't really a balance issue though. If every other gun of the same class had similar characteristics than the guns would be balanced. Your complaint is that the games weapon mechanics do not have the level of realism you want.
Well, I wasn't clear: I'm not really calling it a balance issue itself, yes - but the people doing the balancing set the recoil, right? Therefore, to me, people DOING the balancing should be aware of how guns handle. Full auto....is generally avoided because of how inaccurate it is. The M4/M16 is hard enough in full auto, the AK is worse, and 7.62 NATO is uncontrollable.
I mean, the MP5 in full auto...maybe somewhat accurate, above that caliber wise accuracy is gone after the 2nd or 3rd shot.
The only thing that irked me from that footage was how the player holds the pistol upwards when running; don't soldiers point it towards the ground IRL?

Having realistic recoil would be retarded, lets hope that doesn't happen.
Bad Company 2 managed to factor in a fair bit of recoil and bullet spread when firing full-auto so I'm sure BF3 will have it either launch-day or soon after pending player feedback...they probably keep things easier for demo purposes so people can just jump in, have fun instantly and then go get that pre-order paid for...
These leaked videos confirm this is BC3. Run and gun, no teamwork, etc

Same here. Arcade style reloads, full screen zoom for sniper scope, animated knife "if your within x distance, you win" kill sequence, hit markers, *Sergeant Sergeant Master Sergeant To The Max* rank up effects, etc. It used to be that this was a auto buy for me, now they'll need to find a good reason to sell it to me. I'll probably be just happy with RO2.
There is no "full screen zoom for sniper scope" in those videos (just brings the scope up to the eye) and BF2 had hit markers.
People are just being either obscenely anal or flatout incorrect now. I'm starting to hope DICE makes Battlefield a console-only title after BF3 just so whinging PC brats don't get to play it anymore.
