People pre order games to show support to the devs, get some extra content and even save some money. Nothing wrong with any of that.

Pre-Ordering is fine, being in such a hurry to pre-order is what doesn't make sense. There's nothing wrong it, but it still doesn't make sense. Weather you pre-order several months or a day in advance makes no difference. You'll still get bonus content if there is any. Not really sure what "support to the devs" means. If you buy the game, pre-order or otherwise, you're still supporting the devs.

Well, preorder statistics are probably available to the devs so if people preorder in a decent amount of time ahead of release, it could potentially help them gauge the kind of post release support they will need to provide such as game servers or login processing servers...or whatever it is that we log into when we sign in games like bc2. At least that would be a good use of it. Itll be interesting to see the new NPD statistics on pc releases sales now that they count digital sales.

Why are you in such a hurry to preorder? I assure you the digital copies will not run out.

The bandwidth might on release day, steams download speeds aren't that great to begin with for me, that's at the best of times. Much less on launch day for a mega release like BF3, they'll have to do preloads for this, I'm sure.

I'm worried that this game will fall into the disappointment category of the recent releases. Such as DA2 and Crysis 2.

Any of you guys feel that way?, like we're being lied to about the features? Everyone gets all excited. And then on release day, "oh shit what the hell is this crap".

Good PC games are few and far between these days.....

It's always a worry, but DICE haven't really burnt us so far, not everything they've said is truthful per say, but the games themselves objectively are very good, all throughout the series.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and unless there is some reveals leading up to launch that sound incredibly gay, they it will be pre ordered shortly before launch day.

Unless there is some incentive to pre-ordering now over say, 2 days before launch, then I'll reserve pre-ordering until the last minute.

12-hour single player? I sincerely hope the MP side doesn't suffer because of so much SP content. :(

Balance. That's the real trick, isn't it? I typically feel the opposite about games; I usually hope that the MP development doesn't cause SP experience to suffer. Unfortunately, this is too often the case.

12 hours would be awesome if true. I guess we'll see when we play it!

I really hope they figure out the sniper balance. I enjoy sniping as much as the next guy, but no sniper should be able to accurately shoot while being shot, or even shot at (in the very near vicinity). As far as being prone in the bushes, I'm all for that. It's fun finding great sniping spots, and also figuring out where the sniper shots are coming from.

The lamest part about sniping is when a majority of players in a server are snipers. It just takes a lot of the fun out of it.

One way to combat this is limit certain kit loadouts. It is possible now with BC2 provided you are using 3rd party server management tools (such as ProCon) with the appropriate plugin and settings. You can limit bolt-action rifles, rockets, etc. etc. You have to be careful though when using it, the EA/DICE ROE (rules of engagement) is very unclear about how much you can limit kit loadouts. If you limit too much, you can have your status as a ranked server revoked if someone complains. The few servers I have seen it implemented on usually stick with a limit of 4-6 bolt action rifles.

Honestly if they implemented this, they would have to implement it across all the classes, kits, and weapons to be fair. As a compromise, they should clarify how much a server admin can limit it in the ROE, then continue to allow server admins to set it accordingly.

The best way I have seen of combating too many snipers is to setup keep out zones. Again, this is possible with ProCon and certain plugins. You can setup keep out zones to prevent baseraping, but you can also set out keep out zones to prevent snipers from camping in the back and doing nothing. If anyone shoots and kills someone outside this zone while within this zone, they get killed immediately also and it will flash a custom message across their screen like "attack you coward."

Heh - been there, done that. ;) All it took was one auto-death and I was back on the move. It worked for me!

thanks for the link, pause at around 2:04 to see the nice reflection of the explosion

I’m going to use cheats with this so every time my key gets banned I get to buy it again and again and again :D

yawn...Its the same footage that we saw in the leaked video...but in pieces.I assume the next video would have the cut scene where the whole building collapses.

On a second thought ...Do you think its a console footage as the aiming seems to be terrible.:confused:Or is it the recoil?

The attention to detail is awesome, like when the protagonist falls through the vent and kicks up swirls of dust when he hits the ground at 0:43.

LOOKS FANTASTIC. love the ending where he looks up and the helicopter is raining cartridges down.

Sniping/bullet physics in its current state in most games is lame and should be made more realistic. If I'm running full speed horizontally in relation to the shooter, it should be infinitely harder to hit me, it seems like every shot from a sniper from across the map is on target in BC2 which is annoying and frustrating. Especially after they pull out their pee shooting pistol and nail me with one shot from across the map for the kill after draining my health.

Indeed.

It'd be nice also to not have something like a big MG36 snipe me from across an entire map. ;)

the problem is the hit boxes. up until the last update it was definitely harder to snipe moving targets. but because of the hit box change the hit box lags behind the character which makes it considerably easier to hit the person. but there are tricks to beat it.. instead of running a straight line, move to your right or left 1 step or pause randomly. moving left or right changes the hit box location and pausing tends to screw up snipers that are tracking your speed/distance before firing. the pausing usually always screws me up since i don't fire my sniper rifle constantly until i hit the person. i try to make every shot count. and please for the love of god do not jump like a noob.. that shit only works against noob snipers. all you have to do is fire at the persons legs as they jump. you will always get a hit.

the light machine guns need more spread or more recoil or both. but 3 round burst firing is deadly, but its rare you see anyone actually use the light machine guns correctly.. 9 times out of 10 its just some idiot that holds the trigger down like its COD and you will hit anything you point at which doesn't work in BC2.

the next video will be a 12 minute thing which my guess is the same exact video already leaked from the GDC with maybe a little more flying (I HOPE!).

its definitely on PC, if you watch the movements they are to sharp(consoles tend to be sluggish) and the way they are moving would also lead me to believe its on PC. but remember game developers don't always make good gamers. so i'm sure its just some one in their office playing the game for the demo video.

 I only started playing July 2010 but wtf..I always wondered why the fuck I would get sniped from behind even after thinking I safely ran around a corner into hard cover behind something not destructible...not lagging terribly either, the servers I play on I usually have a ping between 30-70 ms.

I hope the 12 minute reveal isn't just all three episodes clipped together... We need moar!!

The three so far are only around 7 Minutes so the next one, even if it is just the first three plus new stuff will be at least 5 or so minutes.

I'd rather have 12 min of new stuff too though

when i'm out in the open and a sniper round comes whizzing by me, i turn into Reggie Bush and start juking and zig zagging like a crazy man. it's rewarding to sprint 30 yards to cover, running chaotically like i'm bat-shit crazy with sniper rounds landing all around me :D

i believe that's lag compensation kicking in. on your screen you're safely behind cover, but on the enemy's screen (who has a significantly higher ping) you're still exposed.

That and one of the original videos shows W and E key hints on screen when dragging the soldier's body.

It's PC footage. During the hand to hand melee combat there were on-screen indicators to left click and right click on the mouse.

I've never played the previous Battlefield games, but I am looking forward to this game more than any upcoming game this year.

I don't know of any Battlefield game ever having self regenerating health.
Posted via Mobile Device

BC2 has it. you heal very slowly on your own, but you can heal back to full health without a medpack. the med pack just makes you heal faster.
