No, it is not called typing really fast. A typo would be substituting a letter for another by hitting it on accident. You did it several times. You just don't know any better. Don't worry you aren't the only one.

I only posted it, because you called someone else a moron, while making moronic mistakes. See, this is how irony works. :) You could get your *point* across much better without name calling, and insults. But you don't care, that is obvious.

And I am far from a kid, but good try. /done

And now to get back on topic, this is an example of why EA has gone down hill. I won't be buying this game from their crappy online distribution, taking their games away from Steam is a mistake. I'll be buying the hard copy, for the first time in forever. Thanks EA. And I won't be buying any of this nickle and dime crap either.
 
I'm going to take the high road here and NOT answer you how I want too answer you. I will instead abstain from further nonsense.

Back on topic though...BF3 is going to rock no matter what they do with maps packs, pre ordering nonsense or the like. I personally can't wait for it to come out. Who's with me?

I haven't followed this argument so I don't know what position you hold and for all I know you might be one of the few people I agree with on the topic, but: he has a point. You can't point fingers and then commit the same offences you condemn. That just undermines your position and makes you look less intellectually capable than you may be.

And yes, I am definitely with you. But no, not understanding the difference between your/you're or they're/their isn't a typo and trying to take the moral high ground will not work if you commit this sort of confusion.

This isn't an Ad Hominem; I just meant to perhaps point out that you can't elevate yourself or condescend to others if you aren't in a position to do so. Just something worth bearing in mind.

looking forward to the beta in sept for sure, should give everyone a good idea if its going to rock or not.

Did anyone else feel a tiny itsy bitsy bit cheated with the announcement that the BF3 will be a open beta? One of the few reasons i bought MOH 2010 new was the access to the at the time unannounced BF3 beta. Now we learn its open to everyone so it makes the whole MOH access to it pointless.

They never said their wasn't a closed beta before that.

Don't feel cheated yet. the popular rumor is that MoH folks will get in earlier than everyone else. I'm actually searching bargain bins and Ebay for new copies of MoH LE just for the beta. Right now its like $29 at my Target and Walmart stores. I'll probably buy it and just shelf it until more beta info is available.

Oh well thats better than nothing. Back when i bought MOH though i thought it would be a exclusive closed beta so i felt special lol, now im just a few weeks ahead. Oh well, a full open beta just means it will get even more peoples attention to get them to buy it, and what BF player would ever hold back the BF experience from any other BF player? Thats some COD player shit. You know if a COD player got MW4 early he would horde it and brag but a BF4 owner would share and let his friends play it to share how awesome it is ;)

$30? Damn...don't get me wrong i actually loved the SP and i got a surprising amount of hours out of the MP but $30 after all this time? Id expect $20.
 
I will feel cheated no matter what. I bought BF2142 for $25 on Black Friday in 2006, and put in at least 1500 hours. That is my new standard. It will take a hell of a game to beat that!

I laugh at the idea of having to pay for maps. It seems to be a great indication that mod tools won't be available. Oh well, back to TF2.
 
So the map pack was created by the same folks that created bfbc2 vietnam and that is used as a selling point? the bfbc2 vietnam conquest maps were ok, but the rush ones were horribly, horribly unbalanced...
 
Not to say there aren't extremely capable modders out there but the attention to detail required and scope of the maps in BF3 isn't exactly something I'd expect to be done for free. It probably takes hundreds of man hours to get a map constructed, playtested and polished. Add in the fact that every map is supposed to support every game mode and it's just not something I'd feel comfortable with from a non-official source.

COD maps on the other hand are just glorified Quake 3 maps - there's no point in paying a premium for them. The community can easily produce similar quality in a reasonable amount of time.
 
I really wish they would release mod tools for BF3. I can imagine all sorts of mods and maps the community could make that would be sweet. I know it would be a lot of work but somebody would rise up to the challenge. If they're concerned about cheating servers, they could just have a seperate list for official non-modded and non-official modded servers, so people could decide for themselves. I always loved the off the wall mods and maps for CS:S, gave the game a lot more life after you played all the official maps to death..

Not sure what that has to do with maps. If you're alluding to the fact that items are purchasable, you're ignoring the fact that they're all available as drops. Would it better if I had said CSS, L4D(2), or basically any other Valve game instead?

There's no way they'd release mod tools when they're selling content that could be easily replicated with said tools - it'd totally negate their effort/plans.
 
They need to release mod tools to tweak the gameplay. I am fine with paying for maps. Those are something you can take or leave. If we can't adjust the server rules/settings, that will suck ass.

It's more than just maps and that's what some people don't get. We will have the all the weapons, and vehicles from BF2. They are not stripping content from BF3 at all for Return to Karkand though it would look like it from the outside since it's nearly the same time period and not Vietnam or WW2.

Even if someone didn't want to bite on the preorder I see this xpac going the same way as Vietnam where it can be found sometime after release for less than $10.

@bart yeah i do too, but if any game will have quality over quantity (length) it would be this game i bet, IF it is short.

just so you know, the actual character animations are from the Fifi soccer manager what ever the heck game its called. which was then implemented into the frostbite 2 engine. so its technically nothing new or specific to the frostbite 2 engine. but still looks damn good. :D
 
Graphics look pretty good on PS3...obviously the lighting is less impressive and it looks a fair bit flatter than the PC graphics, but in terms of console graphics BF3 looks really good.
