I love when that happens, on hardcore if you're playing as medic you can murder all 4 pretty much instantly.
 
this should also fix the other problem when you actually are the sniper and morons spawn on you and proceed to blast away with a lmg/rocket launcher/m95.

There is a pretty well hidden spot on laguna presa where you can see both A and B, and it is easy to defend with a silenced weapon and take out a whole squad trying to plant. Invariably, some moron spawns next to me and blasts away at everything, guaranteeing both our deaths.

ugh, yeah. I've played battlefield from the beginning on PC, since the 1942 wake MP demo was released. things got bad with 2142(no jets, smaller maps) and way worse with BC2. I don't trust them anymore. I bet money that BF3 won't have the number of maps, vehicles, and weapons that BF2 had. It will probably only have 4 man squads, BF2 had 6. EA is already acting shady, trying to split the community into forcing people to pre-order to receive maps, that should be available to everyone. I'm all for pre-order perks, like a couple extra guns or something like that, but maps? what the fuck.
 
I can understand 4 man squads on consoles but when you have 32 players per team on PC it doesn't make much sense.

Also I thought 2142 was the best Battlefield yet. Come at me bro.

yes sometimes I spawn on someone under fire and kill who's shooting him but usually when i'm shooting at someone or about to start shooting and someone spawns on him it means an extra easy kill for me. and instantly dying after spawning on someone happens to me all the time.

You can only play this map through the Back to Karkand expansion. Like how BC2: Vietnam is on BC2. Servers must run that expansion map list only.

It's not like your playing on a stock BF3 map then get kicked out of the server because it changed to a BF3: Back to Karkand map.

You can also buy the Back to Karkand expansion later on. The expansion probably won't be released when BF3 releases.

They are doing that because they want the used game sales to cease or rather slow down. It's a way to encourage people to buy the game new.

This game even if slightly gimped compared to BF games before (BC2 aside wasn't a real BF game anyway) will still be light years ahead, better in every way and more fun than any other FPS out or coming out anytime soon. So unless you plan on NOT picking up any new fps game since this will be the best there is for quite some time, what's your plan? You really think this is gonna be a bad game because EA is acting "shady" with map packs and wanting people to pre order and giving you a good incentive to do so? LOL cry me a river some more please. Your whinning just to whine. Either pre order the game and be happy and have fun when it comes out or just pass on it and be quiet.

Oh and the reason they gutted/nerfed the jets in 2142 was because of all the cry baby fuckers who didn't want too or couldn't take the time to learn to pilot choppers and jets in BF2 and got owned on the ground by good pilots. Not because there was a conspiracy to consolize 2142. BC series is a consolized pos by comparison no doubt. The choppers in BC2 are a dam joke and handle like shit. I honestly wish there weren't even in the game. That aside BC2 is a decently fun game and gets played like crazy because of the lack of any decent fps games available, don't even start me up on COD nonsense.

So I'll ask you again since EA is acting "shady" and your mad you are feeling forced into a pre order what will you play this fall? MW3? bahahaha k.
 
After all these years, BF2 still is the best product they offered. Is there anyway to play BF2 on windows 7?

There wasn't enough jets/choppers in the maps for everyone to get into one... there were always people on the ground with no way to kill the jets.

The air in 2142 was easy as hell to bring down. Bf2 not so much. Mostly because the stationary anti air didn't work properly. In 2142 the anti air stations and the engineer shoulder fire anti air worked too well.

You and I must have played in different servers. The Gunships, at least, were very tricky to shoot down if it was piloted by a decent player. If you were shot at by any AA, you could simply go vertical up to 1000m on the Altimeter and lose whatever was locked on. Not to mention the physics defying maneuvers the Gunships were capable of...

Sigh, too bad BF3 won't be anywhere near as good.

Just another reason why 2142 was the better game.


Crysis 2 has been removed from Steam, it is now Origin exclusive. This is the first of many to come I am sure.

I didn't say BF3 was going to be bad, I said it probably won't be on par of BF2. I think I still have a valid reason to whine, so I'll continue to do so. You'll get BF3, I'll get BF3, not because it might be good, but because there won't be anything else. I'll be getting it a few days later on ebay for probably $45. I'm not giving EA retail money.

If someone is going to play the game anyway, likely they're going to pre-order it anyway.

Agreed fully as well on the fact that it's going to be better in every way, as well as more fun, than almost (if not all) upcoming FPS titles, so if someone is going to play it because it's a fantastic game, who gives a shit what EA is doing?

If they're acting "shady", oh well... what can you do? If you want to "cut off your nose to spite your face", and people feel they have to show some sort of "high morality" by pissing about EA's actions, then just don't play the game, and lose out on the experience.

Otherwise, just fork-over your money for a game that's going to be FAR more than worth it, that you're into/wanting to play anyway, and stop complaining.

Shit, we live in an age where people are so fucked-up, you cant even trust most of your own family or friends anymore... and you think I give a shit about EA's doings with a game, DLC and pre-orders?

I'd pay an extra $60 just to shut up people who complain pointlessly, especially when it's a situation when you know they're going to by the damn game anyway.

Really starting to hate EA right now...thankfully Wabe isn't here anymore to antagonise anyone with any anti-EA sentiment.

Why is EA games being exclusive to Steam bad? Because the US and Canada are the only regions that get sales. Games on the Australian EA Store remain at their inflated US$80 prices and never see the discounts that other territories get. The games are price-fixed on Steam as well but at least we get the odd Steam sale thrown our way.

My plan was to wait for the Steam $20 sale.. Now that that's not an option, I'm just not going to bother.. It's too bad too, since I grabbed Crysis 1 and Warhead off steam years ago and enjoyed them.

Some of the later patches in BF2 improved the SAM's a good bit, though they were still a bit under powered. Ultimately, the best way to neutralize the bombers is to have an equally skilled pilot on the other side. Provided you were on a well moderated server that didn't allow continuous bombing of the uncapable bases (or at least not until all the rest were captured) having a good pilot did a good job of keeping the bombers engaged in a dog fight while the infantry and armor units did their jobs.

Ah the memories of rolling down the dirt road towards the next enemy outpost in the APC while seeing my teammate chasing the bomber and firing off a rocket. It really is quite rewarding when you have 48-64 players who know how to play the game. I just hope BF3 will be able to live up to expectations.

They should do what Arma 2 done. if you joined a server which uses DLC you dont have, the DLC will look all low res and fugly till you buy the DLC to unlock the high res version

It's not revelant to the PC market but it's revelant to a market that matters alot to them in order to make this game the success they want/need it to be which is the console market Use your head schmuck.

its a good thing its THE DEVELOPERS that are asking the customers to pressure EA to drop the DLC bs on PC. they are the ones that want the DLC to be free, hell they are the ones that pushed the DLC to be free on PC for BFBC2. there isn't anything we can do about it on the console side since microsoft requires them to charge for DLC, but theres no friggin reason they should be charging for every little thing on the PC side. would love to support DICE BF3 but quite frankly theres no way in hell im dumping all that money into a single game. sure if they wanted to release an expansion i'd buy it. but i'm not spending 5 dollars here for one gun 5 dollars there for a couple maps, another 5 dollars for a different gun.

I only do that in defense when being attacked dude. You can check my post history if you like I don't generally get into flame wars with people here. I'm opinionated yes, no doubt about it but I generally don't encite flames. Check me out, go ahead. Ya if the shoe fits then you know what they say. If someone is a moron then that's what they are.
