Davamand CQ on PC, not sure that flag placement is linear enough.

The map looks like it was made for Rush first, then CQ was thrown in.
Better than only 4-5 maps with CQ, and the rest being Rush. Some will fell linear, but I'm sure those are more infantry based CQ maps than vehicle focused CQ.

conquest mode dosnt matter since you be having people drop behind enemy lines etc..
its actually better if not so much linear since the fighting inf wise tends to be better, however variety is good.

But really, who honestly expected Single Player to be worth it?

Console and casual gamers. People who aren't competitive MP players. In SP they feel entertained.

There hasn't been any FPS SP campaigns over the years that were compelling. MW1 SP was the last one I was entertained by.
It's something extra to do, drool at the visuals and move on.

I don't really fault Battlefield for this at all, even considering that. The core BF games (1942, BF2 and now BF3) never really focused on Single Player. Bad Company did it's own thing and good for it. But when I buy a real Battlefield game, I'm in it for the Multiplayer. Thats what it's always been about.

The only thing I hate is that I cannot have my BF3 name be the same dam thing as my BFBC2 name due to the horrible EAID and persona's making names invalid.

That's by far the worst part of the whole ea / origin crossover.

In either method you can only change your name to one that isn't taken, which isn't the complaint. Neither enable you to change your eaid to one of your existing personas, which is retarded.

Yep, that's the problem,

For people that don't understand and just link the Origin ID changer:

Lets say my EAID is "BOBSMITH", and under that ID my battlefield persona (From BFBC2) is "GUNSHOOTER". In BF3 currently my name shows as "BOBSMITH", and because I used "GUNSHOOTER" as a EAID sub persona for BFBC2, now "GUNSHOOTER" is taken and the Origin re-namer won't work.

EA's nestled all the account names in the same eligibility filter as the EAID / Origin account name, which is retarded. Anyone that had a name in BFBC2 will not be able to use the same name as it currently stands.

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Yeah, this is a big issue, they need to fix it asap.

The idea that multiplayer is, and has always been the BF series' mantra doesn't completely negate single player. Russians, terrorists, and nukes? Of course! Knowing that the campaign is like any given Tom Clancy novel won't keep me from playing it right away... and I've been around since BF1942!

GameSpy's review of the co-op gameplay has me particularly excited.

Is it just me or is the Damavand Peak map shaped like a dong?

Really though, in a map shaped like that...where else are they going to put the flags? I could really care less about where the flags are placed...just want to play already.

i don;t get maps like this....no where to go, it is sooo skinny. Like playing the game in 2 dimensions. run forward or back.

i will agree that it was probably a rush map just converted to conquest.

I just don't get the fun in extremely linear style maps where vehicles have no where to go. i guess I just like the open ended maps where you could do more and sort of think about stuff. these maps never interested me but unfortunetly people are dumb today and would rather just run and shoot than have to sort of decide anything. Sadly these are always the most popular maps.

Metro 2033, Bioshock, Deus Ex HR, the STALKERs...yeah, no compelling single-player FPS games

Exactly! Dude, you are wasting your time with these guys. They will defend this game to the death.

Why do you waste your time posting in this thread? If you dont like this game, or its player base, dont read the thread. I never understood people posting in threads for things they dislike or dont dont care about (unless the thread is about things you dislike).

I dont like rage (example), but instead of going to the rage thread and posting about my gripes about the game and general negativity, i just stay out of that thread. Like the old saying goes; if you dont have anything nice to say, gtfo!

After months and months of waiting... we are mere hours away! Work is dragging on.

Does IGN speak for everyone?

Like we said in the other thread: They gave MW2 a 10 for graphics and gave this a 9.5 for graphics. 'Nuff said.

The only reviews I care about are [H] and actual customers, the rest are office monekys that need to publish something or else.

Right. For the most part.

Personally I tried playing the single player in BFBC2 for about an hour and while fun I got tired of it because I kept itching to jump back in the multiplayer.

I uninstalled BFBC2 and I don't feel like reinstalling, but I hear from podcasts like Rebel FM how good the single player was in BFBC2.

I did not even know there was a story line to the single player in BF3 until I saw the launch trailer and regardless of what it is I can bet it is better than the most unrealistic and cheesiest piece of shit that MW2 was.

I haven't met one person that liked the single player in MW2.

Pulled this out of the GameSpy review:

Running on a dual GTX 580, i5 2500k (overclocked to 4.5GHz) PC, I was able to set every detail to Ultra, and still maintain a rock steady 60fps at 1080p, but even those with lesser machines will still be blown away by the game's visual presentation.

Hopefully he had Vsync on.

Single card users will have to lower down their settings and/or buy keppler next year

They should do more graphs tho, medium detail settings 2x FSAA FXAA off etc not everyone is a graphics whore :p

as of the 25th, I am going to delete [H] from my favourites for a few days and not open ANY bf3 related threads it as I'm going to be hugely jealous and annoyed that 90% of you can all play it before me..

Us Britfags have to wait till the 28th to play... Mind-numbingly irritating

Apparently if you disable the internet connection, you can play the SP. When you launch it in OFFLINE mode for origin it takes you to game.

I can't check ATM. Would be great if someone can try :D

I believe you need to unlock the game first. This can be done by connecting to an Asian area VPN.

wtf? so teh retail version is more power hungry then the beta? interesting

The new commo rose
ENEMY BOAT SPOTTED

"Waiting for players"

Fuck this feature! The way it should work is it lets you roam around until there are enough players, and then restart the match fresh.

We need a way to practice flying and shit without pissing off our teammates. Heres to hoping we get a listen-server hack that lets us play solo for practice.

ahh thanks for the tip, will def look into it

Yeah, it was expected. I believe both high and ultra on the beta was actually Medium... Not 100% on that though.

I highly doubt this is Medium:

I'll be honest, and hate to sound like a deluded conspiracy theorist, but I honestly think that Nvidia paid Dice to up the polygon count or do something to make retail slightly more power hungry when they realised single 580's were 'maxing' (2xaa) the beta out @1920x1200 with no problem, the beta looked fucking fantastic to me.. I can't imagine tessellation being the cause of the 50% decrease from the beta benchmarks :/

Nvidia marketing must be pretty cuthroat atm given the fact none of their hardware is going to be in the next-gen consoles. I could imagine this happening.
