My current rig doesn't cut the mustard, coming from a 2.6 P4, 768 RDRAM, and a 9600XT. Runs horribly. Budget is $1k, minus the cost of BF2, so say $950. I can use my POS case for a little while longer. Minor overclocks.
Antec TP2 550 - $89
Good PSU, good price. Should run SLI no?
ASUS A8N-SLI - $139
ASUS reliability, best-price SLI board that has some quality to it.
A64 3200+ - $190
10x multi should help with overclocking. Should hit 3500+ speeds at least, right?
XFX 6800GT - $299 AR
Not a big fan of XFX, but the price is too much to resist.
Corsair XMS DDR-400 - $116
$30 more gets me XMS over ValueRAM.
Hitachi SATA II, 80GB, 3.0Gbs - $60
80GB is more than enough for me.
Battlefield 2 - $47
.nuff said.
Total - $989.90 - $50 Rebate = $939.90
Comments? I might get an XP-90 with the rebate money.
