FYI there's a lot of FUD about BL. BL also has a history of making tone deaf announcements that don't represent their actual goals very well, and the OSS and prusa stans tend to blow things out of proportion. Sometimes they don't grasp what is a priority of their customer base, and take a wrong turn. However, I will say being in their ecosystem from day one that they do tend to announce things early enough to get feedback, and they do tend to listen to their customers.
Here's the latest update on the latest outrage. https://blog.bambulab.com/updates-and-third-party-integration-with-bambu-connect/
Basically they were replacing the old proprietary network interface with a new proprietary network interface with encryption. Anything MQTT based was relying on something that is not an intentional feature and was not going to be maintained as a feature. The system was never going to work how many people claimed it would, and now they are adding dev mode to the network interface so you can take care of your own network security.
no more 3rd party slicers. you can use them but, they have be approved and authenticated by bambu labs at which point they can send the print job to the bambu software. no more direct control. the Terms also state they can can pull anything or feature at any time. The new terms also state they reserve the right to disable features on printer with old or outdated firmware.Have an A1 mini coming in March. Nothing about their firmware shens concern me.
you want one that can do carbon fiber (which the Creality K2 plus can do too),I really want to get one. The stuff I need to print is for the workshop; lathe accessories, tool holders, etc. so I need them to be strong. I know that the metal impregnated filaments have to be dried and kept free of moisture, so that's another complication and expense. More research is necessary.
