Don't forget the P1S for $599 - https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/p1s

The upgrade kit to turn a P1P into a P1S is on sale for $200. I'd go straight to the P1S.

I'm tempted but don't really want to spend 850. But I can almost justify it if it's as easy to use as they say. My ender 5 plus is fine but it's a bit more hands on than I'd like it to be.

It's only $850 if you need the AMS. Admittedly, I'm using mine right now as I can't imagine printing support and swapping spools. The Bambu P1S is my first 3D printer, so I have no comparison level, but I really haven't had too many failed prints. I'm printing this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4661414 right now and not having any issues. All I did to tweak it is lay it down on the bed, turn on support, and change infill to 50%. It just seems to work. Also, I only use offline mode.

The ams is the feature that would help me justify it. Being easier to use than my ender isn't enough for me. But easier and the ams makes it tempting. If I can get a few hundred bucks for my ender I'll probably do it.

Would any of these suckers be suitable to print a fan shroud from a 120mm fan down to a 1 U CPU heatsink?

What did you envision printing before you got this? I have toyed with the a bambu as a first 3d printer myself but not sure how I'd use it, and everything I read said if you don't already have a hobby it can support maybe you're not ready. What do you think?

Idk. Seems like most of the people I see buy printers end up just printing for the sake of printing (print things that could easily be bought for cheaper, print whatever is popular on social media, etc).

Its probably a good idea to have a plan first. Unless you're like me who buys them more because you like working with the mechanics of them, but that's generally not a Bambu shopper.

If you guys are into art like comic book covers check out hueforge, pretty neat with the p1s and ams.

Bambu Lab Black Friday Deals

P1S with AMS for $749.99 ($549.99 for P1S alone)
X1C with AMS for $1199.99 ($999.99 for X1C alone)
A1 with AMS lite for $449.99 ($299.99 for A1 alone)
A1 mini with AMS lite for$349.99 ($199.99 for A1 mini alone.

Accessories are 30% off with printer purchase. Good deals on everything else as well.

I've been loving my a1 mini this past week or so! It's a beast. No bad prints yet and it is comically fast compared to my ender 5 plus. For $200 the price is wild!

FYI, Ive talked to multiple people about the Bambu printers and have followed the Facebook groups for a while... general thought by the people running print farms is that the A1 with the AMS is the better of the platforms as long as it can print what you want and the bed size is big enough. The AMS Lite is apparently better for many reasons when compared to the AMS on the P1S or X1C. I met a guy over the weekend that had a good handful of P1S with a few X1C and sold almost all of them after he got his first A1 and had some print time on it... now he has 13 of the A1s with AMS.

I have a K2 Plus on the way to print large stuff and I may order the A1 + AMS and have both. Basically going to have to throw my highly modified Ender 3 away - there are dozens of them on Facebook marketplace in my area.

I bought the A1 Mini + AMS for my son's birthday and it's pretty slick.

That's interesting, you got me looking at the A1 now. I like the ideal of an enclosure and CoreXY system, as well as the enclosed AMS. But it sounds like the A1 is actually a bit more advanced than the P1S, despite being a bedslinger.

If you like to tinker, look into the Ender NG project. It turns the Ender 3 into a very capable CoreXY printer.

https://www.printables.com/model/922401-ender-3-ng-v12-corexy-conversion
Its honestly not even worth the effort IMO. Ive got dozens of hours into tinkering with my modified Ender3 and the ease of use for anything Bambu is just so much better that its absurd to even think about putting the time into printing parts for my Ender to convert it.

The future is Bambu unless their competitors catch up in regards to making the printers function like appliances.

As mentioned, it's a project for people who like to tinker. Sounds like you're not really into that aspect, which I totally get. I'm 95% through building one and it's been a bit of a slog. Should be a great printer once it's up and running, and I like that I've been able to re-use a lot of parts. I'd only recommend it for people who like having that sort of project. Agree that Bambu printers are the best choice for most people.

I couldn't agree more. My ender 5 plus has upgraded extruder, silent board, I tuned all the stepper voltages, got a pei plate and enclosure, and it is slower, less reliable, and more expensive than my a1 mini with ams was by about double. I know the build volume is a huge difference, but I don't think I'm going to keep the ender.

Yep there's a difference between people who just want to print and people who want to dive into the mechanics. At least there's something for everyone.

I cant even begin to fathom what the point of a 3d printer is if its not to print. There is no "diving into the mechanics" when you are spending more money for a much less competitive machine. Slower, worse quality, not as many features...

You can still "tinker" with a Bambu printer adding mods... but the basic setup of an A1 is better and faster than any highly modified Ender 3. The extruder on my Ender 3 is worth around $200 when it was released and this thing is a pile in comparison to an A1 that costs the same amount.

Its like if you wanted a fast car and you could get a real sports car for 10k but decide to buy a 16 second Honda Civic for 11k and mod it...

You don't seem to be a DIY enthusiast. Bambu is great for people who want an appliance. There's better things out there for those who want to go in deeper.

Not everything is an Ender 3.

Ive spent enough time tinkering as a "DIY enthusiast" with my highly modified printer to probably buy 3 or 4 X1C printers had I just gotten a part time job at a gas station. Please let us know what out there is "better" than a Bambu printer... the instant they came out the entire used market was decimated because everything else is just that much worse.

Only printer I see a lot of stuff about that I wouldnt mind having is maybe the Prusa XL with the multi material stuff... but its more expensive and reviews by real people with print farms still talk about Prusa printers not being as reliable as the Bambu printers. I personally bought a K2 Plus that I preordered and have been waiting for months but Im fully expecting it to have typical Creality issues and Ill likely end up selling it. I dont have time to screw with temp towers constantly, string tests, calibrating extrusion, etc anymore. Last time I bought a new type of filament I went down a rabbit hole trying to get good printers for 8-10 hours on a Saturday.

I've had an Ender 3 Max for a few years and it was okay but not really inspirational, to the point where I didn't use it near as much as I thought I would. Picked up a K1 Max at Microcenter about three months ago, and it's much better than the older Ender 3 Max I've had. Been using it pretty frequently and have had good results about 85% of the time, with the slight bed leveling problem causing some issues. Just ordered one of these X1C combos a couple days ago to see what all this multi-color printing is all about, and I have to admit that the idea and reviews of the Bambu Lab printers seems pretty exciting. I'm not a huge fan of the whole cloud based environment that they promote, but most everything I've seen others print from the BL models has been much better than the other brands. I guess we'll see it all firsthand pretty soon.

If you are looking at the Bambu Labs offerings, take a peak at the Qidi offerings as well.

If I truly wanted to tinker (which I do not currently), I would look to a Voron-type build. It can be significantly more expensive, but if one really wanted to tinker ……

This was feasible at a time when printers were still relatively expensive. Since the last holiday season, the price of everything plummeted so I understand your point.

However, I tinker with a few Enders and I eventually want to build a VZbot Hevort. Very capable machines that can out perform many production retail printers on the market.

I design things in both Fusion 360 and tinker with my Enders and have a lot of fun doing both.

With that being said, I'm glad I did not get into 3d printing years ago. Paying $250 for an Ender 3 V2 would have pissed me off. No CR Touch and shitty part cooling, lol. I got my Ender 3 V2 for $99 from microcenter, then they had a price mistake on an "open box" Ender 3 S1 for $89 and they honored the price mistake. Then just yesterday they had an "open box" Ender 3 V3 SE for $23 and I said to myself... I know its gonna be brand new. I go to Microcenter and got the V3 SE for $23 brand new. God damn. The guy was like "do you want the extended warranty for $25?" But then we were like "wait, the price of the warranty is more than the store credit we would give back to you". For the first time, I find the price of the warranty exceeding the cost of the printer itself LOL.

I know Bambu is amazing, but I just don't like how they can brick/blacklist your printer if you violate their TOS. I wish Microcenter had a business partnership with Prusa for competition's sake.

Anyway, I got into this hobby at a great time and the price mistakes I found got me hooked on Enders. Yeah I did the Dual Belted Z mod and the BTT motherboard and threw a some money into them, but I still enjoy the hobby. Aliexpress is amazing for cheap quality parts. I really don't think I spent much on the four Creality Printers I have. All of them I bought on mega firesale prices or serious price errors that they honored.

I hope to find an "open box" A1 with AMS for some ridiculously low price... you just wait. I might get lucky again.

I understand people just want to print and I'm glad we're at that point. From what I hear about the early days of 3d printing, IT SUCKED.

Good call on the vzbot. I keep eyeing up the aluminum kit on Ali. Its a sick machine.

I've been keeping my eye on vzbot too. Once I finish my Ender NG I'd like to build something larger. Likely a Voron or a vzbot.

That is one limitation of the Bambu printers is the build volume. 256mm^3 is the only size they offer. If the X1C came in 300mm or 350mm I'd likely have it on the list.

Other complaints I've heard include the enclosure not doing a very good job of enclosing. I pay very close attention to air quality when 3D printing (as anyone should) and I would not trust a Bambu to print ABS or ASA out of the box without modifications. They aren't sealed well enough and/or the filtration is ineffective. A properly sealed Voron, vzbot, or Ender NG is much safer to have in a living space. This is the kind of thing that a lot of Bambu owners are going to be completely unaware of.

Yeah, this is what I did, and it ended up in a lot of wasted money. I've definitely spent more on my Ender 3 at this point than it would have cost to just build a Voron. Luckily I've been able to reuse a lot of the expensive upgrades in my NG build, but a lot still went to parts I no longer use.

These days, most people would be best served by getting a Bambu, then building a Voron or vzbot as their second printer if they want something with larger build volume AND that sort of project is something they find appealing. Most people just want to print stuff, which I totally get.

I'll admit I spent a lot on stupid little addons on my Ender 3 V2 after I got mine for $99 from Microcenter. I didn't know they had a $150 coupon for the Ender 3 S1, I would have just bought that instead!

I gave Microcenter another $100 of business on my Ender 3 V2. They got me good. And then I got them back when it came time to pick up my "open box" specials.

I have the S1 and I still ended up sinking a lot into mods and upgrades. I've got it working well now, but for the money I probably could have just bought a better/easier printer. Though, I will admit I learned a ton about 3D printing in the process, so it wasn't a total loss.

I have plans to use ABS or ASA in the future, but haven't yet. I bought one of the carbon filters for when I print with one of those. However, I also will not print with that in the house. My printer is in my basement and I have it on a rolling cart. My basement connects to my garage, which is under the house. I will roll the printer into the garage and open a garage door if/when I print with the nasty stuff. I would probably run a fan as well. Technically, it would still be in my house, but might as well be outside at that point.

That sounds like a good setup. A garage door will allow for plenty of ventilation for the nano particles, and the carbon filter should get the VOCs. I run mine in a closet with the door closed and a HEPA filter. Also have the nevermore carbon filter in the printer.

Bambu has ASA now. Seems like it's equal or better than ABS. I might need to try it out. So far, I've only used PLA. I have an upcoming project that could use a little heat resistance.

Not sure how much you need but maybe petg would work for you.

I'm only just now graduating from PETG so I skipped ABS entirely and just went with ASA. Same reason as you - heat resistant.
