Bad Company 2

Ugh....I keep forgetting how much frustrating gaming on a pc can be. I'm having a hard time connectiing to a game and when I use the server browser I don't get a lot of games listed. I the fired up BC2 on my 360 and had no issues finding games, especially DM mode.
 
So while we all have some time that we can't play MP...
What's the value of veteran.battlefield.com? Aside from getting the M1, I mean.
I tried entering my BF1942+Road to Rome and Vietnam CD keys and it said they'd all been used or something like that, so I can't get more veteran points. Is there any benefit besides "more is better"?

What a fuckin' blast this game is....I played about 5 hours total of MP today, just bouncing around from server to server before landing on DASHIT's server before EA went down.

Still trying to get a feel for it, not quite comfortable yet...graphics settings are dialed in now I think. I never bothered with the beta, and after so many years of BF2 it'll take a little while I'm sure. I think the biggest adjustment is how BC2 is almost pushing the edge of sensory overload...it's not really chaotic as much as, as many have already said, there just seems to be so much more going on.

I think the sound has a lot to do with that as well, because as has been said many times already, the sound is omfg good.

For reference, I have settled on:

19x12 - 2xMSAA - 16xAF - Detail LOW - Textures HIGH - Shadows MED - HBAO off - FOV 80

I think now I need a nap....

Is anyone here using a merc keyboard? I am trying to figure out how to take screenshots with it, but since there is no "mod" for it yet I am not sure if there is a way to do so.
 
Calling it a night here. I did SP and it was a blast. :)

For the people wondering what HBAO is, think of an artist putting the finishing shading touches on a picture. It just applies shadows to certain places to make things 'pop out' more. That said, it's not very noticeable and can easily be turned off for a good performance increase; especially for eyefinity setups.

Game's pretty good. Having a blast in Eyefinity. This game might get me back into multiplayer FPS. Haven't really played one since CS:S. Although, it seems to take forever to query the servers.
 
would be nice to have just one bf bc whatever stickied thread where you all can go on about the game and post pics etc etc.

EA is getting killed on their forums, especially with the obvious system crash. Talk of class action lawsuits and threats and whatnot.

I've specified Punkbuster servers, but then I note that it's turned off on the servers I think to look on. ???
 
SP is ok if you like wallhacking AI...always a good thing when they have grenade launchers so no matter where you hide everything is coming down around you pretty quick.
 
FYI: some users on the DICE forums are reporting multiple bfbc2 processes running, after closing them all and restarting the game they can now join servers again. YMMV

Seriously? Class action lawsuits on the first day? That blows my mind; people like that need a good stiff backhand from their parents. But I digress...

This game is AMAZING! Multiplayer is great, and single player has an entertaining story.

It brings my poor laptop to it's knees though; I'm playing on low detail @ 1280x720 just to get smooth play, but it's worth it!

Come on FedEx! Deliver my new gear soon! :)

Getting a white screen crash minutes into the first level intro scene..anyone else having similar crashes? I'm googling up a storm right now, and I'm finding that this was a problem in beta too...no solutions yet tho, unless someone knows something I don't.

mp runs great ~ 75fps@ 1600x1200 2x AA 16xAF HFBO ON, i got into a snow map (whiteout?) for about 10 mins, ran great, then lost ea connection error. .

Wow that is the problem with America. Everyone gets sue happy right away. What a society of whiny bitches we have become!:mad:
 
wtf i keep getting kicked by punkbuster, i went to the stupid website and did that update thing, at least i think i did it right and im still getting kicked.

How to i stop this?
 
when you go to do the punkbuster update how do you know where you folder is if you are using steam?

How do you know it is PB kicking you. I can't join any games from the server list, but if I do the play now options I get in fine, but keep getting kicked after a minute or so

you get a message saying punkbuster kicked you and to go to its stupid website and do some kind of auto update.
