Some people allow all updates all the time. Good grief man......you get screwed doing that..

I am strict with my versions of things running. For example I prefer adobe reader version 8.1.3 redistributable. It is the last version without all the BS additional programs (AIR..adobe.com...etc...)

Saves me time and aggravation of uninstalling that crap.
 
OP, believe and do whatever you want to your machine. Just please don't help or assist non-tech savvy people with that mis-informed crap.
 
Forgot about Dirt 2... Microsoft (of all people) broke that game's GFWL interface in XP64. Game would start, but never create the autosave file. Never got around to playing it.

Microsoft is still patching XP64 and Server 2003. No more service packs getting pushed out, but they are still doing the whatever weekly auto updates. Miss the days where autopatcher would make it easy.
 
This thread has run it's course. OS of choice is of no consequence.
