The MSI 3080 was too much dick for my ITX case to handle. Good thing
I anticipated that and had a coolmaster 400 lined up!

A lot larger than the 2080ti with AC block

Based on the reviews, I think it's safe to say Nvidia did us all a solid by not having any available XD

The reviews were fine and in line with expectations. It's the price that's ridiculous. How can you ask for 80% more over 3080 for 20% more performance? Had 3090 cost $1000 it would have been palatable (to people who pay $1000 for a card).

I had a Trio X in my cart but paypal wouldn't autocomplete login and so I got stuck slowly typing and by the time I hit check out they were gone.

Made me face palm pretty bad. Should have done a dry run before.

For those of you still hunting for a 3090 and have plans to add a waterblock to your card, avoid Gigabyte:

I think the 3090 FE will be the first GPU I keep with its stock cooler in last few years since it seems the Ampere cards are already at their limit. Then again if some enterprising person mods the vbios to give a substantial performance boost that requires better cooling I’ll toss an EK block on it.

It gets here on Monday so that should be a pretty exciting day.

Got my 3090 ftw3 ultra about 2hrs ago but about to head to work now.

Still thinking about either getting 3080FE as i dont play but @ 2k resolution and returning this card. spur of moment purchase as I was getting frustrated with the 3080FE fiasco.

Don't return it, sell it to me if you end up not keeping it.

I picked up a 3090 XC3 on friday. Walked in store, saw card, bought it on the spot. It was my second opportunity for a walk in purchase but I balked the first time.

I run ai model projects and game, so this is a time saver for me to be able to run data locally while I work from home. Moving large volumes of data to be accessible by my DGXs are painful.

My RTX 3090 FE is "scheduled" to arrive today, but I haven't seen any shipment updates since Friday, showing it to still be at the FedEx location not too far from where it was picked up at Nvidia's warehouse. I hope it didn't get misplaced...or worse.

Well, looks like I won't be getting my card today. Just saw the Fed Ex truck fly by my house only to stop a few houses down, start to step out and realize they are not at the right address, then continue down the road.

I called Fed Ex earlier to get a more accurate update on where my package is at and they have no clue. To them it is still at the first package sorting facility it arrived at from the Nvidia warehouse. Ugh...

I wonder how long I should wait before I reach out to Nvidia's customer service and let them know that Fed Ex misplaced my order.

Fedex borked my 48cx order a few months ago....they said it was delivered to me which it wasn't, then it turned up a few days later in their local warehouse, then it dissapeared again, then turned up again....by that time I had cancelled the order with beachcamera and got my refund.....then fedex tried to deliver it to me on THREE separate occasions and I had to keep telling them RETURN TO SENDER.. No fucking wonder Tom Hanks choose to crash the plane and live like a hermit for a decade with that sexy ass vollyball!

A few weeks ago Fed Ex delivered a package with over $500 in Lego sets to the wrong house, left it on their door. Luckily, I have an outdoor camera and was able to see which house they delivered it to. My wife and kid then walked over and picked up the big-ass box and brought it home. I filed a complaint with Fed Ex over that one. About two weeks before that, same Fed Ex left a neighbor's package leaning against a mailbox to the wrong house. The house it should have been delivered to was around 10 houses further down on the other side of the neighborhood where the road changes names. Even the package showed that it was a different street. No cares. And a few years ago, they miss-delivered an expensive aquarium light that I bought to the wrong house across the street. That was before I had an outdoor camera and I was walking all over the neighborhood with Fed Ex on the phone trying to find my package they claimed to have delivered to my front door. My house has its address numbers on the front, so it isn't too hard to miss.

Meanwhile, I almost never have any issues with UPS. USPS...that's a different story.
