I'm not sure it's legal to auction/sell evidence in an ongoing criminal investigation.
It's a joke Matlock.

Yep, Newegg's credibility went out the window once they said these were "demo units."

After further review and investigation, we had concluded a select number of units from our vendor were given to us incorrectly. This was simply an error that was done by our vendor, and we have taken precautions to eliminate this from happening again.

Excellent Video!!!!
Sorry... If it walks like a duck, and it sounds like a duck, guess what? It's probably a duck.
Newegg shipping fake CPU's and then claiming they were demos, sounds completely bogus. Like the update to the article says, since when do they start shipping spelling mistakes as demo units?? I don't buy it.. And I won't be buying things from Newegg anytime soon. It's a shame cause I've spent thousands of dollars there too..

Oh and that Hitler video was hilarious. Next time, Mwave. LMFAO!
From the outside, the box looked completely legitimate,
Wow, that's crazy. I wonder what Kyle will do. It sounds like they are just pissed that they are being pointed out. HardOCP only wrote about the facts so I don't think this will fly in court.
Well it's March 7th. Article's still there. If you fail to do so by 5 p.m., pst., on March 6, 2010, D&H will pursue all of its rights and remedies, including, without limitation, an action for libel, will seek full recovery for the damages caused by your untrue statements including punitive damages, as well as seek injunctive relief.
Gone!!!
No, it's not.
Newegg Selling Fake Intel CPUs Did you just order an Intel Core i7-920 CPU from Newegg? Have you opened the box yet to check and see what is inside of it? We highly suggest you do.

Never heard of the site, any other sites confirming it?
You people that feel so butt hurt by this are more then welcome to shop elsewhere, more stock for us dedicated newegg buyers. And once again, Kyle uses someone elses bad situation to look like the good guy taking down the "evil" corporations. What an ego whore

Next time try to quote the entire message instead of bits and pieces. This is the remainder of what the Intel rep said "The examples we have seen are not Intel products but are counterfeits. Buyers should contact their place of purchase for a replacement and/or should contact their local law enforcement agency if the place of purchase refuses to help."Seems like intel knows even less than newegg/d&h on how many of these fake cpu's are in the market and where they came from, you're drawing conclusions with barely any facts to back it up Kyle. If i wanted gossip i would of went to tmz.
