Antec P180

I found over a dozen Etailers with this item on order and listed at around $130 with $15-$25 shipping. Some ETA's listed are 6/15 and some say 2 weeks. I wouldnt pay full retail though since seems like plenty of places should have it for $130 + s/h soon. $160+$20 is too high to get it 1 week early for me.

If you goto Antec's list of preferred resellers and check all their websites, the average price seems to be $130.

I GOT IT. Yes, it is the P180. I haven't had a chance to take it out of the box yet and check it out. It's quite heavy also. I'll let you guys know as soon as I do. ;)

So how long do you think it will be before we start seeing either the 180 or the Sonata II at retailers like NewEgg?

This thing is a frigin beauty. I do have an issue though. One of the sides is protruding out a tad at the bottom. Sorta like an internal dent. Hope I can fix. If not I'll be talking to Antec.

Haven't quite figured out how to get the side off yet.

The sites I looked at didn't even have the P180 listed. I didn't go through all of them, though, just a few that I recognized.
Got any links to the stores listing it at $130?

Man, such a dilema. My case is in CT and almost here but the Battlefield 2 Demo just came out. Oh whoas. What to do what to do? ;)

Sorry about the size. I'll get more up tomorrow. Also, Antec is sending me a new side panel and a thumbscrew which I cannot find.

Oooooh, looks really really spacey =D.

And, and, and! Are those... YES! They are block USB connectors, wootsauce!

nice pics

how suitable do you think the floppy space is for a hard drive?

hey gman,
When you get to assembling your system, could you see if it looks like there is sufficient clearance between the cpu location and the top of the case for aHSF the size of a zalman 7700-alcu(I checked out your mobo and it looks like the cpu placement is near the top like it is in the motherboard I am going to get)? Just a guesstimate would be fine. I was planning to get a zalman for the system I am building but from previous pictures was not convinced if it would fit. I would be shocked if it didn't since that is a popular HSF for people into quiet computers but I just wasn't convinced from pictures so I haven't bought my HSF yet.

Thanks

Dammit, gman. I wish to hell you hadn't posted those pics. :(

Now I'm gonna have to break down and buy one. ;)

From the looks of it there is some clearance, but it gets pretty close to the upper fan. I'd say only 1" in there. A Zalman 7700 might fit if your MB's socket is a bit lower. I have the Zalman 7000 and I think it will be ok, but I'd like the 7700 myself. I'll let ya know.

For you guys that get one soon how about letting me know how the panels look, especially where the aluminum tabs wrap around the plastic part. The left side panel on mind had a bubble in it at the bottom because the tabs was not done correctly. Antec is already sending me a replacement panel. Shows how much they have riding on this case I suppose.

Oh, 2 things. Not sure the front door swings back 270 degrees and it is also closed with a MAGNET, now that's sweet. ;)

do you know if the dfi nf4 and xp120 will be compatible then? if i wanted to use that weird little air duct thing that ive seen in some pics.

God Damn it.

Does ANYONE have this fucking case in stock?

Everything I see so far has it sold out already....or not yet available.

There's about as much room at the top as a Sonata has (and most any other case). I couldn't stand leaving this case sealed (just waiting on a X2 4400+), so here it is with my temporary northwood 3.0@3.6ghz IC7-MAX 3 system. Seems pretty nice but controlling the cables is going to be a huge PITA.

Have you guys seen the new Zalman CNPS-9500?

I see a way to manage A LOT of those cables dude =). Can you take off the other side panel and run them behind the mobo tray? Cause thats what I would do =P.

gman the door swings 270 degrees, but once you get it swung 180 you need to press on the top and bottom to release the second hinge and allow it to go the final 90.

Did you have any issues with the side panel aluminum tab at the bottom of the sides? I'm sure it's probably only me, Murphy's law is named after me, except my name isn't Murphy.

Since this stuff is only going to be in there for a 7-10 days I didn't bother. Moving cables behind the tray like you said is the problem, it doesn't seem possible without a mod. There's a thin, white anti-vibration coated, horizontal section across the entire side. It goes flush across the side panel. On a positive note, it's easy to hide the unused cables in the bottom chamber with the power supply

Nope, but it's easy to how distorted metal there would be a problem. Getting all six plastic tabs properly set/aligned and closed the first time took 10 minutes per door. The side panels make an extremely tight and secure connection to the frame.

Man... trying to decide between a Sonata II, a P180, or a Lian-Li 1000, or Lian-Li 6077B.

just ordered mine at the techonweb, even though its temp out...who knows ill post pics when it finally gets here!
