"Because of the lack of a new generation of consoles... inevitably the PC cycle is being held back. So the PC generation has to innovate in different areas where it can be faster and more user-friendly, different models like free-to-play communities, more online, more social and more browser gaming.”

SO TO RECAP... ALL THE PC GAMERS ARE IS FREELOADING MINDLESS ZOMBIES THAT PLAY GAMES IN A WEB BROWSER ON A PSEUDO SOCIAL NETWORK.

rofl we knew long ago crytek is full of shit when they decide to make love with consoles.

A one trick pony that tried to copy the cool kids and was called a smartass for failing at that.

Call of Duty: Halo. Fucking hell, the storyline, too.... You're master chief, and Prophet is Cortana (along with all the other annoying "radio" charactors).

Crytek just likes to complain. Anyone remember when they were saying that for every copy of crysis purchased their were 20 pirated copies?

I believe it.

On a Friday night I used to like lighting some candles, playing some smooth jazz, get a nice glass of wine and just download Crysis over and over again.

Suissido, by Phil Collins, a personal favorite.

LOL! PC gamers are to blame for Crytek making console love because of all the bitching about Crysis 1 being unoptimized, poorly coded, not being able to run at highest settings on their dual 6800GTs....blah blah blah. You all know the rest.

Crytek heard, Crytek changed strategies to make their consumers happy and now the consumers are mad again because the Crysis games aren't super-duper graphically extravagant. Can't have it both ways.

So now the question is, what PC game company will PC gamers send to the console market this time?

You're post has some truth to it. The thing people were complaining about Crysis was how poorly optimized it is. You just didn't realize it until a year or more after it came out, even new hardware was still having problems running it. The game looks good but for as much computing power as it requires to look like that, the tradeoff isn't worth it in all instances. If the game was properly optimized, it would be screaming on modern tech, and it's not.

A good example of this is Ultima IX or Gothic 3. They still don't run good on new stuff. The games are just poorly coded, like Crysis.

Right, so you believed that Crysis decided to venture into console market because of PC gamers

Companies are going multiplatform these days through their own decision to tap into a wider market, some just decided to bitch about PC gaming community as if they wouldn't had tap into the console market had they gotten more love.

Still, go ahead and believe those BS. Only PC gamers are evil. How dare they have a higher requirement than the console community that would just love everything thrown at them

Graphics aren't getting way better in a super fast fashion, boo hoo.

How 'bout make some good games. Nothing is holding anyone back from doing that. The devs are all just fucking lazy.

Because of all of the technical discussions a lot of people forgot to notice that Crysis 2 was a far better game than Crysis 1 or Warhead ever were. And *gasp* people could actually play it without turning their resolution way down or the details off.

Crytek's only true masterpiece was Far Cry anyway. Crysis was just a $60 benchmark with 3-4 playable levels tossed in.

That's where games are off to because that's where the players are. Your average 18-24 year old in college, or recent grad outside of it has a laptop. He can play browser games, he is already on facebook and can play those games, so that's where you are going to get him gaming. He can't play the latest gang busters game that taxes hardware because the systems they are buying these days can't run them and can't be upgraded to run them.

Even if the 360 was 10x more powerful it wouldn't do squat all since most people with PCs are in the same situation.

I still think that Intel's graphics division is to blame for PC gaming. Pretty much every off the shelf PC you see can't run games worth a damn and a lot of people have just grown used to it.

I have friends that laugh at the concept and just assume they can't run anything except Warcraft or the Sims.

Plus, these days there just isn't that same PC upgrade need that there has been in the past. Windows 7 runs absolutely fine on older hardware. Short of gaming, there isn't much need for a PC over a few hundred bucks any longer.
