AMD Ryzen Launch Date Window Exposed?

Linux... Linux... Linux...

:ninja::whistle:;)

That's cool, I have no issues with what you want to use. :)
When people take a trip they read up and plan it. They KNOW what they are getting. You have no idea. You are so far up AMD's asshole they could release a CPU as fast as an old K6-2 and you would lap it up. A few posts above this you said you aren't a fanboy.. yet, even with REAL REVIEWS of Intel cpu's out there that stomp yours and you haven't purchased one, yet along comes an AMD chip with very little real world showing and you jump all over it.

That, in a nutshell, makes you a fanboy. It doesn't really matter how you see yourself, it's what you are.

In a nutshell, you are wrong but that is cool, we all have been wrong before from time to time. :) I just wish we knew the exact release date already but hey, at least the motherboard manufacturers are ready to go. :) Now the real question is: MSI, Asus or Asrock?

Linux... Linux... Linux...

Nope. There's nothing wrong with Linux. I'd argue any more than with Windows 10. And whatever the truth is, it comes down to matter does it do what people want from it. That's really what all of these debates from their various perspectives are about, at least individually. Me, for the last decade, I've been an nVidia and Intel guy because at the price points I've been buying, AMD hasn't had much. Having bought a i7-6950x at full retail at launch for the sig rig, I'm fully aware of what it means for AMD not to be competitive in this space. But damn, this CPU kicks so much ass. But I'd love to AMD to have something in that space. Very much like desktop Linux in gaming.

Nothing to worry about here other than a guaranteed performance increase.

What guaranteed performance are you talking? Because you already had an overclocked i7 6700K which you sold to return to the AMD Camp because it wasn't any better or any faster than your FX chip?. other couple of times you said you sold the 6700K because you don't wanted to use an intel machine, that alone speak itself.. you are not looking for a performance upgrade, you are looking for a brand, that's all.

I like how heatlesssun and manofgod are liking each others posts. Its pretty adorable!

I believe we have a similar perspective on the concept of choice. I don't have to like your choices and you don't have to like mine. But as individuals we make them for better or for worse. In this type of forum particularly on matters of technology much is said about choices of technology. At an individual level you have to determine what works for you and what doesn't. And that's what choice is.

Nope, both actually. It is amazing how someone can be at peace with that well others have issues with that. Also, the guaranteed performance increase comes from the new architecture, improvements and just plan new stuff. It has been a little over 5 years since Bulldozer launched and in that time, things improved on that architecture and it got faster, just not enough overall. The thing is, the FX are on DDR3 and it also has older tech on the mainboards so, for me, the upgrade would be a no brainer. I am an AMD fan and I have never hidden that fact but, I also do not say that it is faster than everything else out there, which is what a fanboy would do, among other things. I do not troll, just enjoy and do not put down, if I can help it. (You did not put down either, just making a point.)

Oh, and just to make a point, when a friend of mine asked for advice on upgrading his 8 year old computer, he asked about the FX processors and I told him emphatically, NO! I forwarded him a 7600K with H270 Asrock mainboard instead or told him to wait for Zen and see what it has. He does not overclock and never will.

I am an AMD fan and use want I want in my systems, which is fast in general. However, I am not stupid and fully understand the computing industry. (That is just one example among others that I cannot think of right now.) I hope that the release date is actually the 27th of February, it would be fun to be able to purchase, build my systems, do relaxing runs during the week and then do that race on the weekend.

You have waited 5 years, so obviously waiting 5 more days to read reviews and order online from the comfort of your own futon is not going to hurt you in any way.

Never buy a new model car (blender, toaster, OCZ ssd) on the first year it is released, much less the first day.

The definition of fanboi is somebody that would take a day off of work to waste 3 hours of travel time not to mention guzzoline just to purchase an unknown product on day one.

What's the imaginary rush. I think that's all anyone is saying.

Maybe he saved enough money buying a futon instead of a sofa, that he is able to take time off work without it causing financial hardship. Therefore he is going to do something he enjoys with his time off. I might be wrong, but I think anytime you buy tech on launch day there is some added excitement, which could possibly add value as well.

You obviously do not see any enjoyment in a road trip but, I do. Ordering stuff online is easy and I have often done it but, I also want things in my hands at the time of purchase, sometimes. You think it is a waste, good on you but clearly, I do not and if you want to continue calling me a fanboi..... *Shrug*

I do not have a futon and I also have a car that gets good gas mileage but hey, it is what I want to do. You will not convince me but if you feel the need to try, keep on keeping on. :D

Besides, I have vacation time coming to me anyways. :)
