AMD Retail Employee Purchase Program

The reason I asked is b/c my friend does not have a credit card and I just ordered for him. Since the billing and shipping not the same, it's on hold right now until I call in. However, I am afraid that it won't be qualify for the rebate.

I had problems when I updated the bios, but that wsa when I had the two sticks in. The bios update got messed up and tthe board wouldn't boot. Luckily the driver disc that comes with the K8V is also the bios recovery disc.:D I love when an install goes smoothly. :p

OK, so I just got my board. I put in 2 sticks of Corsair 512 DDR. It's running fine. I've been running memtest86+ for the past few hours with zero errors.

I'm still using the old BIOS.
 
how long did you guys have to wait once you placed the order, till you got it? I ordered on the 19th, with 2nd day shipping, and it says something about 7-10 days for the third party drop shipper...im impatient!

I ordered on June 16th and it was here June 18th.
 
I suggest you don't use the EZ flash to flash the BIOS. I was having trouble getting my PC to run using 2 sticks of 512 Corsair DDR, so I wanted to flash to 1003(which supposidly fixed this problem). Anyway, the flash crashed and now my BIOS chip is corrupt. There's no way to fix this. The recovery cd doesn't do jack. Asus return policy is utter shit. I have to pay shipping to them and pay shipping back...and you can't pick what shipping. It's UPS ground.

Seems like a lot of people with these boards are having the same problem. This is the last ASSus mobo I'm ever buying.

Apparently when I used my credit card to order for a friend who also works at Office Max with me, made the $100 disqualify. Right now the order is on hold but I will call in a few days to cancel it if no one express interest.

got my package today, installed just fine and dandy, waiting on more parts to finish it up.
 
I got my stuff, cpu assembled on the mobo, free amd tshirt, far cry, some assorted cables and stuff, and a reminder telling me to send in my rebate. Good stuff overall, especially for 180 bucks...after rebate. Now, all i gotta do is wait on my case from newegg, and my parts from frozencpu, and i'll be good to go, cant wait to benchmark it!
 
im interested if anyone qualifys for this but does not want to do it for themselves..

How exactly did you find out that it made it disqualify? Was it to where it was shipped or just having the billing information in your name? If it was because the billing was not in the same name as the employee's retailaccess account is BS. Not everyone has a creditcard or checkcard.

This is something you should find interesting. My ex-g/f is the one that works at bestbuy. I had her register, get validated, I took the quizes, ordered it with my billing and her shipping. Never even bothered to look at the invoice until i read you disqualify yourself for putting someone elses billing info in. So I got home and took out the invoice. Bill to and Ship to are both her name. My name is no where to be found on the invoice.

From the AMD site regarding elligibility
*Pay Stubs
You may black out all personal information on your pay stub except your name, the name of your retail employer and the date of issuance. Pay stubs must be no older than May 17, 2004 and must be issued from one of the eligible retail stores listed above. The name on pay stub must match the name on the EPP Promotion Product invoice.
 
w00t! They just enacted it for non-retail partners (we're an integrator), and it's $179 straight up, we don't have to mail in a rebate. ;)

so, i just registered and took the test. the thing is that i am actually a grad student at a large university...they let me take the test and make the purchase. i guess i will have to see if it actually ships.

the proof of the pudding is in the eating, heh.
 
mine will be arriving shortly - may sell it depending on what it is worth to someone - if not, I will just wait for mo money to finish a full build.

Dude,
It costs around $294 with shipping then the $100 rebate which makes it $194. So $200 will lose money b/c it will cost at least $15 to ship it to you after receiving it.

Does anyone know if they are going to be offering this again in the near future? I have a friend who works for Walmart that I might be able to get this deal through.

good question. you dont need one now. the purchase price was just $179 before shipping (~$13 for me)
 
I work at BestBuy and scored 290 "DOH" on the test but the next night sold 2 64 systems and sent the fax now I wait for what? I don't see a link to order, where would it appear or be now?

Yeah, just wait on it. It'll take up to 48 hours for them to credit the points to your account. You'll see a huge button that says "Order.." when you have enough points ;)
