Mike, again I agree. However, in true capitalism monopolies are short lived, and few and far between.
We don't live in a true capatlist society. A true anarchy or true communism would work out alright too. Not ever, ever going to happen. Why? Human nature.
You know, I really can't be bothered explaining the disparity between ideals and realities, and why ideals never exist in their true form in reality.
First of all, this is not a philosophy forum, and second, anyone as idealistic as you appear to be has a tenuous grasp on reality in the first place. It's clear to me now why you post such ridiculous statements. You have trouble differentiating what, in your mind, SHOULD be, and what, in fact, IS.
Thats all.
Good luck.

1) I never stated that we live in a true capatilistic society. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't nor that we never will.

2) We are as close to true capatilism as anyone one nation has ever come. No anarchistic or communistic society has ever come close to being as effective as we are. So, NO, they would not work out alright.

3) Why bother arguing philosphy with me then? The entire ordeal is intimately tied to philosphy.

4) I am not concerned whatsoever with how I "appear" to you. Therefore, your assertions that I am too "idealistic" and "rediculous" hold no water and are completely futile.

5) It is again humorous that you should end your statement with an absolute after just arguing against their very existance.

edo, you might be more effective if you'd stop trying to guess what I am thinking and instead focus on what I am saying and doing.

What I said applies more to philosophy than it does physics. I guess you simply don't see the utter absurdity of your assertion in the first place. Your statement that there are "no absolutes" is in itself an absolute. You contradicted yourself in one simple statement.

Show me, then, how the speed of light is not absolute.

You were the one who went down this road. Not I. My original statement had context in the arguement. Your emotionally charged rant did not.
It's official, you are in fact, insane. :)
First, point out to me my 'emotionally charged rant'. I don't recall feeling particularly emotionally charged at any point. A little confused at your meanderings, but charged, no.
We arent talking about philosophy or physics, we are talking about two companies and an anti trust lawsuit that appears to have, on the surface, some credibility.
As far as the speed of light not being absolute..

And I have to admit, you've got me heading off on a tangent totally not related to the subject at hand, so lets get back to this, and why don't you try addressing issues concerning the topic?

/edit
Jesus, I need to stop replying to you.

More semantics. What IS in our current collective reality. My God, I've never had to be so literal with someone from them taking everything out of context to try to hide the fact that they dont have a leg to stand on. To keep you from derailing a statement with irrelevant banter, you'd have to make footnotes of footnotes of footnotes (ad infinitum) to every word of a statement. Sorry, I won't reply to another of your statements until it is relevant to the original discussion.

If you AMD lovers out there actually cared enough to buy prebuilt/OEM computers w/AMD once in a while (and yes they do exist), maybe AMD wouldn't have launched this fatal legal campaign, which they will lose, and which could break their back. If that happens, blame yourselves.
