I'll be going to college next year (OSU ). Unfortunately I'll be commuting, which is around a 45 minute drive. So I might be hanging out for awhile for my next class.
I was looking at the M11x...
-Processor SU4100 (2M Cache, 1.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
-1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 335M
-250GG HDD
-4GB RAM
-8 Cell Battery
-11.6-inch WideHD 1366x768 (720p) LCD
-Illuminated keyboard too.
~~$899.99
The major draw back is the 1.3ghz processor. It would probably be worth it to get the 3M cache processor, but that's an extra $100. For a 12inch laptop, I can't find anything that competes. 8.5 hour battery life too, or so it says.
I was originally looking at the Asus G72GX-RBBX05, or the Asus G60VX-RBBX05. Mainly because of the 260m video, but the battery life is horrible, around an hour and 30mins.
I have a HP nc4400, which is a 12in laptop. Very portable and durable. Battery life is around 3 hours, and the best it can play is UT04.
So the whole point is, what does the [H] think of the new Alienware laptop? I'm also open to suggestions on a laptop that has a half way decent graphics card, with good battery life, and under $1000. No Toshiba's though!
Thanks,
KI
