Lol! Yes, corrected, thanks.

According to that TFT Central, the G-Sync version (XR341CKA) "will feature an ULMB strobe backlight (Ultra Low Motion Blur) mode as part of the G-sync module for blur reduction benefits."
Unless they really flub it, the G-Sync version of the Predator 34" should be pretty killer! Just wish it was the originally announced 100Hz...
except of course that the gSync version will purported only have HDMI 1.4a, limited inputs and STILL Gsync + ULMB = fail
Question:
Why would you care if it has any input other than DP? I would imagine anyone buying the g-sync version will have an modern nvidia card and plans to use only the DP connection. From what Ive read, DP has plenty of bandwidth to push 3440 x 1440 at 75 hz.
So in other words you are just trying to stir up crap with an idiotic comment. The people that actually care about the lack of HDMI 2.0 on the AMD cards are using or plan on using a 4k TV as their monitor.for Irony... given all the hoopla (listed as a negative in several reviews) made about AMD products (R9 Series) not having HDMI 2.0.. a bit.. well funny how quickly people brush the lack of hdmi 2.0 input on a $1200-$1300.00 (USD) display.

about the only thing your post deserves is this:According to TFTUK, it's a factual comment (ie lack of HDMI 2.0), just because you are butthurt about it does not make it idiotic, makes those that complain about the lack of HDMI 2.0 in AMD cards hypocrites when they then turn around and praise a hdmi 1.4a display as a buy on site.
IMHO, using a TV as a monitor is primarily a way for people who are too cheap to go for a better alternative.. with exception to maybe 1-2 TVs, the samsung/lg 21:9 5120 x 2160 or the LG 4K oled.
But hey keep defending your brand of choice, i'll just call em like I see em

Edit: Accord to wiki, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_4K_monitors,_TVs_and_projectors the ratio of HDMI 1.1-1.4 to HDMI 2.0 TVs is about 10:1 (77:8)
So again , for maybe 1/10th of possible HDTVs, and probably at best 1/10th of those might use a 4K TV as a main display.. ALL of that angst and furor over 1/100th of potential users whining about lack of HDMI 2.0 natively (of course ignoring the fact that DP 1.2+ to HDMI 2.0 adapters are forthcoming) .. that seems like the idiotic part
Meh size is really just preference. Some would consider 34 inch to be really tiny compared to their 50-60 inch TVs and others would consider that to be tiny compared to their 100+ inch projector screens. Just like you find 34 inch to be a good size many of us are perfectly fine with 27 inch and what it offers.
What is the latest estimate for release date on this baby? I am sitting on money ready to throw at GPU and monitor.
and if the manufacturer/Acer runs into a delay/pushback again, there is nothing those pre-order retailers owe you. they will just tell you that the product is still not available and ask if you wanted to cancel your pre-order
again - don't buy into pre-mature product announcement hype. it's absolutely ridiculous these days
In Germany it seems it will be available on 23rd this month. It can be ordered from alternate.de for 1199 eur. Freesync model.
Gsync model can be pre-ordered and estimated delivery time is middle August. 1299 eur.
Edit: Although I think this is great monitor and I really want gsync function, I must say that the price is ... just too much
Are there any other 34" ultrawides with Gsync?
Asus have a ROG one coming, but it will use same panel as the Acer and likely be more expensive, making an already too expensive monitor available only to the rich.
The Asus was specced to be "only" 60 Hz compared to the Acer's 75 FWIW.

I still don't get it.
Do people try and plug Xboxes or Playstations into these things?
You buy a monitor with g-sync, it stands to reason (to me), the only thing you will ever plug into it will be a Nvidia card via DP, because that is, after all, why you bought a g-sync monitor in the first place.
Agreed. Just read through tft's new review that just got put up about a week ago and it sounds like this is the same panel as the dell's and lg's. Differences being G-sync, oc'ed slightly (15hz), and lower lag. The response times were slightly better but honestly, too close and essentially a negligible difference.
So gsync and lower lag for what could be a $600 usd difference (the dell panel has been consistently hitting $800 on sale regularly). Seems pretty steep indeed, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.
It IS the same panel as the LG/Dell, simply overclocked as you say, and with a G-Sync module slapped on. The problem is, although it seems obvious to you and me and most people on this forum who actually like to research a product before we buy it, your average consumer won't and will be utterly clueless as to the progeny of this monitor. Happens all the time in the tech world of course, so Acer are hardly unique, but what gets me is the price they have the nerve to charge, and the performance/value ratio here is atrocious.
That said, I am not saying it will be a bad monitor... assuming no bleed or glow issues, which MANY of these panels were maligned with on the LG/Dell btw... but it is NOT worth this price tag. Furthermore, when you read the horror stories of the Acer XB270HU IPS and the nightmare of dealing with Acer CS, you'd better hope you get a good panel or you'll have paid over $1000 for a whole world of hurt!!
Can the LG/Dell be overclocked? I am on the fence here, questioning how much a few hz and Gsync are really worth?
I want smooth play in first person shooters. Right now frame rates are not smooth for me, even when they are hovering at 60.

The one that's available in the future, so find yourself a time machine and go get that one.I hate when things aren't cut and dry. So since this monitor is turning out to be way overpriced, what is the "best" 34" curved that a person should buy instead?

It depends what you want from a monitor... if it's more for gaming, this is probably the best you'll get. They all use the same panel anyway, this one is just overclocked, and has G-Sync (the only one that does, until Asus release their ROG version, but that's going to be the same panel and probably more expensive anyway).
But if gaming is your main interest, then for all around smoothness and high FPS, you're best off with a 16:9 1440p G-Sync/Freesync... OR if 1080 is all you need, then maybe you should check out the BenQ XR3501.
It is frustrating that I cannot compare these things in real life.
Pardon me for injecting this but I don't see a thread for it and I don't know how it relates to this:
What's the story on this Acer Predator z35 that I've seen stray mentions of?
Given Scan don't list the refresh rate there, I'm assuming this info hasn't even been given to them by Acer. I'll be impressed if they squeeze 100Hz out of it, but 75 seems more likely. If it features ULMB though, it makes no sense as that needs at least 85Hz, so maybe ULMB won't even feature at all (it's not mentioned in those specs anyway). There is no way Acer don't know this information... if the monitor will be available in just over a month then it's well under production now, with specs locked down, so the fact they're not releasing them doesn't bode well.
Also, if they're building this in the same factory and using the same team as they did on the XB270HU... uh oh.
Acer confirmed 100hz with GSync.

As for panels, companies share panels all the time. It's very common in the TV and monitor space. The circuitry driving the panels, the software and other pieces are as critical. Having the same panel doesn't mean you get the same performance for better or for worse.
Unless there are some real issues with it, this will ceratinly replace my 3008wfp. 100hz is plenty for me and ultra wide gaming will be a nice compromise to having 144hz. That giant predator logo is absolutely disgusting though. Why do companies have to go and do this stuff?
