A64 OC Database & Overclock Guide

whew! updated. now i have a reason to find the max stable of my opteron. i think somewhere around 2.9ghz with 1.58v is possible :D

Nice!! :)

I can run my sandie @ 3ghz with 1.56 vcore but not prime stable... I think I can manage 2.9ghz with 1.54 vcore stable... if my MSI will hold the vcore stready enough.. it's pretty dicy... I need a DFI board.. lol. too busy with FEAR for a mobo swap now. ;)

what did i miss? 3091mhz prime stable under phase. you're definitly in there ;)

also, for those of you with an opteron:
i have an additional request: the last 4 numbers of the serial code.

see how i have 0124? i think we might be able to get some statistically relevant data out of this. if not.. well it's worth a try anyway.
opteron OPN

I got the X2 3800 today. Its a CBDHE 0532 XPMW. I havent OC'd it yet but ill update this post when i do. For some reason i dont think its ganna do good :(

*edit* apparentlty the neo2 plat with bios 1.b doesnt like to OC. The voltage adjustments dont work, only the % boost thing does. Sooo thats kind of crappy. Its burning in right now at 10x250 at 1.42v. It is on water too so i think its not doing well at all. My friends does 2.6ghz at 1.42v on air :(
We'll see in a few days how this does sine the TIM hasnt broken in yet.

*edit2* ARGHH!!!! Stupid Neo2 Plat w/1.B bios... Since the VID adjustments dont work, the max i can set the vcore to is 1.48v. The system booted at 10x280 w/1.48v but it crashes in windows immediatley. I guess ill have to wait for a better bios or new board. Anyone know when the Sapphire or MSI RDX200 boards will come out?

air cooling with Arctic Freezer 64. 32C idle and 41C full load.
Prime and UCCT stable for hours.

Can post into windows and play games at 2650MHZ but can't get it to prime for even a minute unless i go down to under 2400MHZ, no matter if i use a memory divider or not.

My Winnie was better than this dud (306x8 with memory 1:1 prime stable). Oh well, i bought it as a 3200+, so I can't complain too much.

Opteron 146 on the way from eWiz.

Prime ran for 11 hours, its still running BTW

Ill repost if I get higher stable

Well, where did you buy it??? (so I know not to buy it from there :D )

Opteron 146 CABNE 0530 APMW #114 air cooled by xp-90 w/ U1A Panaflo <--- my old opteron...if it counts for anything

Max stable 295x10= 2950mhz 5:6 divider 1.55 volts.

I have my 027 in sig and I'm working my way up. So far only 230 with 1.175v 1:1

Newegg. My buddy got his from there too. Im ganna see how far it can go without going over 1.55v.

heh, two 146's eh?

remind me of your cooling again asian ;)

Yea, I felt that 295x10 wasn't good enough for me. ;) and that one week I just got paid and had some extra cash left over after paying my bills...enough to pick up another one. Didn't even realize the batch # thing until I got the second one. If i did realize it I would have asked him for the one closest to zero :p The new 0027 one is using the ICE cooling from the shuttle. No need to add this to the database as I haven't found the max stable HTT anyways.

That's a very good overclock. Mine would only do 2.2 stable(2.3 somewhat stable) up to 1.55v.

Ok I have a question. It seems that the chips that have an I as the third letter of the OPN have very piss poor overclocks (mine included)...does anyone know what this I means (if anything)?

aiit, lemme post my current OC. uhm i can get a SS up here later to boot.

opterown_infoxx.jpg

2.9 ghz » 290x10 » 1.45 vid + 8.3% » reads 1.58 ish with a min of 1.55

water cooled.

edit: got the SS

X2 3800+ Manchester w/ stock cooler
2.4 240x10 works great 1.375v
2.5 250x10 1.425v is my current everyday oc
2.6 260x10 is stable at/around 1.5v but I don't want to do that on stock
2.7 270x10 at 1.55v(max for mobo) loads windows, but gives me a BSOD after a few minutes...

I don't even want to try getting it stable at 2.7 anytime soon but maybe with more cooling later on. I'll post the rest of my info in a bit, looking for some pics I took.

Also I had prolems with it not posting at 9x270 to test things out so I think the multiplier selection may not work.

Is there anyway to get the OPN numbers other than actually removing my heatsink?

I got some data for you eclipse, but i want to avoid having to open this biotch up...

anyways, heres the data, except the numbers

This is an early venice 3000+...just got my OC finalized. this is prime stable and memtest stable.

System in my sig...

Have my X2 3800 Toledo running at:

10 X 250 @ 1.4 with stock cooling

I have a big typhoon on the way. This is a preatty darn OC right?

X2 3800+
ADA3800DAA5CD
CCBWE 0535SPMW

Running it at 250x10 at stock volts on air - XP-90 @ 29c in normal Windows environment.
running ram 1:1 2-3-3-7 1T 250mhz 2.8v

That's as high as it would go without upping the cpu voltage. Might give it a try when time allows. ;)

System specs in sig.

i don't get it, we have the same week though different stepping, and i had to up my voltage to hit 2.5ghz on water...

and i'm assuming the code on yours is SPMW just like mine, not 5PMW(i don't think thats a code)

You have a Manchester. He has a Toledo.

Maybe the difference could be the motherboard ? I'm running an Ultra-D and your running a Epox. Maybe that's the difference.

Your right about mine being SPMW so I changed it in my above post. My eyes aren't what they used to be. ;)

How can you tell that mine is a Toledo? Also, I thought all of the 3800's were Manchesters. Is mine just a faster Toledo with half the cache disabled and rebinned?

look at the last two letters of the first line of the OPN
CD = Toledo
BV = Manchester

;)

i'll update this soon

Yes, that's a good clock -- I've got one 3800+ that does this at 1.31 VCore on an XP-90

my epox board did pretty well with the venice 3000+@2.8ghz, after that overclocking experience i can't really fault the mobo

ADA3000DAA4BP
LBBLE 0519CPFW

Should be coming later this week or early next week. Plan on using my XP90C & Delta 120mm on it. If it turns out to be a good OC, I may rip the waterchill from my Newcastle system and test it with water too . . .

Results soon, haven't heard good things about week 19 in general, but I have my fingers crossed . . .

Coming out of the closet :D, long time lurker attempting first OC. Spent a few hours over the last couple evenings but hitting wall at 270x9. More testing this weekend with HTT and memory timings as it appears CPU is capable of more.

See the very first post for instructions if you need them.

Gadfly,

Not exactly. The problem is that I can't find a compatible version of Clockgen for the ASROCK Dual. So, I've been loosely following the procedure via. the bios.
