Got my new DFI up to 250fsb with my 3200+ Winnie and OCZ Plat. rev.2 this morning. gonna try to get it up higher, but i think i need to revise my cooling solutions. quite pc + summer = omg hawt

My OCZ's are very hot underload and the panaflo L1BX on my XP90 cant keep them cool. I think i'm gonna try a M1B or maybe the enermax adjustible one to replace it. Hell, maybe an XP120, then the fan would cover both sticks of ram :)

No benches sshots yet, i need to install photoshop, but i just ran 3dmark 05 and got 3911 with my 6600GT (570/1230)

wow i would like to see some benches of that... do you have any now?

actually no. i dont like how hot the system is running. i backed down to 220fsb for now and everything is running real cool. 28-31* CPU and 41-43* NB idle.

I would really like an XP120 to keep that damn ram cool but they're so expensive, along with a new panaflo. :( I get paid on thursday so i might order a M1A for my XP90 and see where that takes me. I got a feeling i can push 260, but not unless i get get 250 at a decient temp. I might go [P]ussy and chill at 240.

I really hate how the NF4 is right under my video card. The stock cooler barley leaves enough room for the card so theres not much hope of replacing it. Maybe the vantec iceberg, i'll look into that

yeah my NF3 is right under my card as well... leaves no room for aftermarket cooling.. but im sure it dosnt need it... i was thinking about getting a XP90.. they are pretty badass and your temps look nice...
damn i wish i could OC this CPU... i was one of the people that got a bad winny.. they had a bad bad batch of them.. and i can barley get to 2.2 before it crashes.. pisses me off!

you mean a whole stepping of bad ones :(
*cough* CBBID = lame :p

wow nasty cold..

yeah and .. i got one.. (!@#$)... my next paycheck.. might get a nice venny

well i highly recemend the XP90, its a great cooler. if your gonna get a venice and you want to o/c the shit out of it, you might consider a XP120.

I might be getting a venice myself. My parrents are probably going to be replacing their system (p3 1.0) so i'm gonna set them up with my a8v, and buy a venice. Of course i'll take the better overclocker since they have no interest in anything but stock. which is good since they will probably be runnign it for like 8 years, lol

i didnt think with my current motherboard would fit a XP120.. i have a MSI K8N Neo2 Plat..

the CPU socket is to damn close to the AGP slot...

good luck with the venice

here i am seemingly stable at 230fsb

I was getting some lockups and bsod's playing san andreas at 250fsb, so hopefully thoes problems are gone, if not i might have to take my 6000gt down

im guessing you mean 6800GT.. and bte.. very very nice OC on that GT... are you running water or something?.. you got a lucky card.... lol

and for a 6600GT thats pretty pedestrian.

600mhz core speeds arent unheard of on them.

ive had 2 of them AGP & PCIE, the AGP could do 575core and the PCIE can do 550 :( .

I had it at 580 for a bit, but i kept getting artifacts.

I didn't think 560 was such hot shit, its only a 35mhz increase. Its a BFG fyi. I dunno if an aftermarket cooler would be much help. Maybe that crazy zalman one or that new vantec. Does anyone know how good the stock bfg cooler is?

*edit* looks like zalman is the only way to go. The vantec doesn't fit on the GT model and the NV Silencer doesn't clear the rear ram sink. Oh well, i like quietness

OMG!! This is what I wish to acheive with my next upgrade :p

Para

No faster with the Zalman 7700 Cu than I was with the stock HSF (9x 300) with my 3000+, but my 6600 256 from chaintech has been dead stable at 340/560 (using an Abit AV8 3rd Eye).

Nothing to see here, please move along.

Heres my OC after switching from Corsair Value Ram to OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev 2.

Processor: 3200 Winchester - 2.45Ghz at 1.5 v 33/41 (idle/load)
CPU Cooler: Zalman 7000AlCu.
Memory: OCZ PC3200 Plat. Rev. 2 - 245 @ 1.75v - Timing: 2.5-3-3-7
VC: 9800Pro flashed to 9800XT @ 412/365 (core/mem)

Its prime stable 24 hours, memtest passed 5 times.

I can probably tighten up the times a little bit but didnt get a chance to yet, or leave as is and raise the FSB up a bit more.

Anyone know the average limit of the 3200 Winnie?

is a higher fsb faster at 10x than a lower fsb at 11x even if the corespeeds are the same. is it more stable at 10x.

I can't believe no one yet has an 0521 Venice... could I be the only one? :p

This is an old screenshot. But I'm at work. I'm now stable at 2500 1.45V, no noticeable increase in temps. This screen shows 2350.

Hey man, yer score has me beat pretty well, look at my screenshot above. And I'm actually running a bit faster than you in my screen. You think it's because you're running win64?

ive got a 3700 new castle(yes i know they dont have those but i have one) stock at 2.4 (runs like a 3800) with a abit ax8 ...and i can get only about 2.55 ghz...if i got 2.6 it freezes....i have a crappy 5 dollar foxconn HSF

Hi,
Here's my rig:
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
AMD64 3500+ (Venice)
Club3D Radeon X800XT
1x200GB SamsungSP, 1x200GB Seagate Barracuda
2x 512DDR 500Mhz PC 4000 Ballistix (Dualchannel)

I heard that there aint any difference if u have 400/500Mhz DDR with AMD64.
Also I heard that there are problems with overclocking if ur using the 1/2 SATA ports.
Is this true or not? :p

My Venice is at 2.4 ghz from 2.0 and runs absolutely stable
VCORE is 1.60v not sure i needed that much overvolt makes it run at around 50 degrees full load, but at around 41 idle. FSB is 240 mhz 10x multiplier

I have the same cpu (3200+) on an Asus SLI mobo and I got it runing also at 2.4 ghz from 2.0 (FSB is 240 mhz 10x multiplier) at 1.4v I don't think you need that much. try it at 1.5v at the most and it will probably run fine.

OMG

Your rig looks like mine...

MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
AMD64 3500+ (Venice)
Xtasy Radeon X800XT
2x 512DDR 400Mhz PC 3200 Ballistix (Dualchannel)

Here's my current overclock (Have just been mucking around for the moment 'till I get liquid cooled)

Amd 3000 Venice (LBBLE 0518 CPEW) @ 2350mhz (260htt) @ stock voltage
Leadtek PX6800TDX @ 430 core and 850mhz ram
2x512 megs OCZ EL DDR Gold VX DDR400 running at DDR433 @ 2-2-2-5 (3v)
DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D
Thermaltake 680W PSU

I can't wait to watercool this proc, it seems to clock nicely and can run at stock speeds at 1.05v. I wanna see what it can do at 1.6v

A64 3700+ @ 2.7GHz (245x11) 1.65v w/ Zalman 120mm cooler (in sig)
1GB OCZ Platinum CL2-3-2-5 DDR400 @ 407MHz & 2.6v (5:6 ratio)
Chaintech VNF4 nForce4

i know the voltage was a little high, but i left it high cause i wasnt going to stop at 2.4ghz, im at 2.6 on air, but its kinda ghetto cooling, i have a giant honeywell fan that blows into my computer from the side..... :D

I got my 3200+ Venice from 2.0Ghz to 2.54Ghz. 317x8 1.6v. Ram at 2/3 211mhz
Ran for about 12 hours in Prime95 with no errors.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=31555

I also got it to do 2.7Ghz at 300x9 but that was at 1.7v and I was afraid of running it at that voltage, but I'll do some more testing at those speeds later.

My System:
Athlon 64 3200+ (ThermalRight XP-90 + ThermalTake SilentCat 90mm Fan) :: DFI NF3 Ultra-D :: 2GB Crucial PC3200(2x1024MB) :: ASUS FX 5900 Ultra

I've decided to contribute, so here's my rig:

Motherboard: Asus A8V Deluxe (Bios v1.014.007)
CPU: A64 3000+ Winchester @ 2339 MHz (Stock Air)
FSB: 260 (x9) MHz
HTT: 600 MHz.
Memory: 2x512MB Geil PC3200 (2.5-4-4-8)
Ratio: 1:1

Video: XFX 6800 NU 128MB (350/800) (Stock Air)
Monitor: BenQ FP931

Sound: Audigy 1

HDD Setup: 2x80GB WD800 (SATA Raid0), 1x40GB Maxtor (IDE)
OS: XP Pro

DVD/RW - LiteOn yadda yadda
CD/RW - LiteOn yadda yadda

PSU: Enligh 420w (HPC-420-102)

Very clean overclock, given the memory that I'm using. I've attempted a 270 FSB OC with DDR533, but found that my PSU was lacking and unable to keep up unless I docked the GPU core down to stock.

Setup as-is, I can pass any test you throw at it... but I usually stick with a quick run-through of BF2, CS:S, and SuperPI to ensure stability.

Still contemplating whether or not to switch from stock air to a Zalman Cu (Copper/Alum) and switch out the stock coooling on my 6800 to a VGA Silencer.
